Chapter Text
March 31
Dear Diary,
I've never really done anything like this before, but here it goes. I'm Midoriya Haruna. I'm 17 years old, and the oldest of two children. I have one younger brother; Midoriya Izuku, who is 7 years old. I attend UA High School in Japan, and I strive to become a Pro Hero. My boyfriend, Kanaji Thijs, also attends UA. We are in class 2-B. School can be really difficult sometimes, given the situation I've been put in; I'm a mother of one little boy, and I'm pregnant with another. I don't try to make this happen. Kanaji and I just... get carried away sometimes. His parents disowned him, so he lives with me. I guess that's alright, given the fact that it allows our son to grow up with both his parents.
Aside from that drama, my life is pretty good I guess. I babysit Izuku and his friend Bakugou Katsuki quite frequently, actually. They're adorable. I feel as though they have a connection; like a love of some sort. I know they're too young to understand, but I see it there. Maybe one day they'll get married or something. I'd hope so. Bakugou has a sort of... explosive personality. He and Izuku are almost literally pollar opposites, personality-wise; I just can't see how they go together so well. They just do.
Kanaji and I are opposites, but in a different way than Bakugou and Izuku. My Quirk is "Attraction", just like my mother's; I can levitate and manipulate small objects (and yes, that includes matter). Kanaji, though, is "Repulsion". It's the opposite of mine. Other than that, we are extremelly compatible, which is good. I don't know what I would do if the two of us happened to break up.
On a new subject, my father (well actually, he's my step-father.. but he's Izuku's biological father) is actually in town for once. He works abroad, so I hardly ever see him. He's been acting a bit off, though. I can't quite place my finger on it, but I know something isn't right. Mom thinks I'm being paranoid, but I know that's not it. Maybe with some further digging, I can find out what it is. I really do hope that it isn't anything drastically bad; I wouldn't be able to live with myself if it was something that would tear our family apart. Maybe Kanaji and Aizawa (an upperclassman who sometimes tutors me; he graduated a few years before I began attending UA though) will help me prove my case...
That's all for now.
~Midoriya Haruna
Haruna sighed as she set her diary on her nightstand. She glanced at the chair across her bedroom where Kanaji and their son Thijs (named after Kanaji) had fallen asleep reading "Guess How Much I Love You?". With a light smile, she removed the book from her sleepy boyfriend's hands and draped a blanket over the two. After being certain they were content, she quietly exited the room.
As she walked into the kitchen, the delicious smell of Sukiyaki wafted into her nose. With a giggle, she peered over Inko's shoulders, hoping to catch a glimpse of what was likely for supper.
"Haruna, would you please help me cut the bell peppers?" Inko requested, sensing the presence of her firstborn.
With a slight nod, Haruna began to chop the juicy peppers for her mother. A faint humming could be heard from the living room. Curiously, Haruna peered over the counter to see Izuku colouring a picture on the floor.
"Izu-Kun, whatcha drawing?" she asked, setting down her knife.
With a smile as bright as the sun itself, Izuku replied "You and me and Kanaji and Thijs and mommy and daddy! So that when daddy goes back to work, he will have us all the time!"
Haruna smiled in adoration as her little brother held up the paper to reveal a poorly drawn, but adorable family portrait. She complimented him and got back to helping Inko. Everything was going well that day. They were going to have a lovely night as a family, for the first time in a long time. Or so... that was what they thought. Everything changed when Midoriya Hisashi walked through the front door.
