Kirishima ran a hand through his hair, letting out a low sigh as he stepped out of his car. Kirishima loved being a hero, he loved his job with every inch of his being, and even after 10 years of it, that didn't change. Kirishima had had a long today, another villain attack over an hour away from his usual patrol sight. The guy hadn't been that bad; just wanted money and a bit of attention. His quirk wasn't that strong, so it was an easy win.
But, it did make Kirishima go two hours after usual schedule. He was usually home by 3 to pick up the kids, at least, but he had to call Bakugou last minute and say he couldn't make it. Bakugou, thank god, was able to take care of it, and Kirishima could not be more thankful.
It had been 10 years since he graduated from U.A. 10 years. And looking back, so much had changed for him. He was the #5 hero, people recognised him on the streets, asked him to sign things, to take photos of him. He'd bump into kids with red and black 'Red Riot' jackets, and every single time he does, his chest pools with pride. Kirishima's gotten taller, way taller (Bakugou likes to joke that he's a brick wall, now), and grew his hair out longer. That wasn't the best part about his new life.
Kirishima was married.
He got married to Bakugou 5 years after they graduated, when Bakugou proposed to him on their anniversary. They moved in together, and Kirishima was so, so happy. He was completely in love with Bakugou, he had been for years now, and he was living his dream life with the love of his life. They had two children, Sana, who's 6 years old and a perfect mix of her fathers, and Raeden, who just had his 2nd birthday. It felt like a dream.
Kirishima opened the door to his house carefully, and saw Bakugou lounging on the couch with Raeden sitting in his lap and watching the TV with Sana. Bakugou looked up at Kirishima through his reading glasses, grinning. He didn't have a chance to say anything before Sana beamed and barrelled her way at Kirishima.
"Daddy!!" She exclaimed, clutching at his waist, grinning. "I missed you! You were late today! You promised to get us ice cream after school..."
Kirishima leans down and ruffles her blonde hair, smiling. "I missed you too, Sana. C'mon, we can have some ice cream after dinner, okay?" Kirishima offers, and Sana's eyes twinkle, and she nods.
Bakugou stands up, adjusting Raeden in his arms so he's holding him with one hand. "Welcome back, Ei," Bakugou greets, pressing a kiss to Kirishima's lips. Kirishima kisses back, grinning into it. "Did you kick ass, as usual?"
"Katsuki, no swearing in front of the kids." Kirishima reminds, but Bakugou just chuckles and rolls his eyes. "But yeah, patrol was pretty basic, but I was called to deal with a low-class who was causin' a racket in the city."
Bakugou grins, kissing Kirishima on the cheek. "Mm, you won though. That's my husband. Bada--manly as hell." Bakugou said, looking at Kirishima with complete admiration in his eyes. "What d'you think, Rae, Sana? How manly is he?"
"Super, super manly! Daddy's the manliest of them all!" Sana exclaimed, hugging Kirishima's legs. Raeden squealed in delight, holding his hands out in Kirishima's direction. Kirishima visibly melted, taking Raeden out of Bakugou's arms and holding him. He kissed his son on the cheek, and Raeden giggled and wrapped his tiny arms around Kirishima's neck. Bakugou watched with a smile as Kirishima held his son and played with his daughter, the both of them looking up at him like he's the sun in the sky. Which he was.
Bakugou was so, so fucking lucky, and he felt so grateful for this. To have a family like this to call his own. Kirishima always loved kids and had talked about wanting some, and the both of them were so fucking happy that they finally got what they wanted.
"C'mon, Sana. I promised you ice cream, didn't I? I'll make some chocolate sundaes, and we can have a movie night! How does that sound?" Kirishima offered, and Sana's eyes widened before she nodded.
"Okay!! Yes please, Daddy!! Pappa, come on, sit down!" Sana said, tugging on Bakugou's arm and pulling him to the couch again. Bakugou put Raeden on his chest, and Sana left a space between them so Kirishima could sit down, too.
Even though Kirishima had heard it so many times before, every time Sana called him 'Daddy' and Bakugou 'Pappa', fuck...every time Raeden giggled when Kirishima picked him up. It made him feel so, so happy, and so damn lucky. Kirishima made eye contact with Bakugou from the kitchen, and Bakugou smiled at him, and Kirishima knew he was thinking the same thing.
Kirishima finished making the sundaes as Sana asked, and put them on a tray and proudly came back to sit down. Bakugou looked up at him and laughed, shaking his head as Sana clapped her hands happily.
"Awe, princess. Are you excited?" Kirishima said, taking a seat next to Bakugou. Sana nodded eagerly, and her grin only widened when Kirishima handed her the ice cream.
"Thank you, Daddy! You're the best Daddy in the whole world!" Sana said, leaning on Kirishima's arm and grinning up at him, and both Bakugou and Kirishima felt their heart melt.
"Sana, I thought I was your favourite, you little traitor." Bakugou teased, leaning over to ruffle her hair. Sana just laughed, but didn't deny it.
They were so, so lucky.
It was at moments like this where neither Bakugou or Kirishima could believe that this was real, this was actually real and it was theirs. Their family. Their life. They had a house, they were married, they had two beautiful children and dream careers. It was more than anything they could ever want.
Bakugou looked down at his hand for a second, and at his ring. The ring was fucking gorgeous, and he remembered the proposal as clear as day. The 10 years that they had been together felt like nothing, because each day that they spent together was absolutely incredible, and he enjoyed every minute. Bakugou knew the day he proposed that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Kirishima and knew that they would last, and to this day, that hasn't changed.
