Work Text:

You internally groaned, your eyes barely opening before you forced them closed again and hands subconsciously moving to rub your eyes. You groaned out loud upon actually opening your eyes, black and white tile greeted you with the blinking clock on the microwave sitting on the counter reading 9 am. The pounding of your forehead was a dead giveaway from the alcohol consumption from the night before, this wasn't the first time you had woken up on the kitchen floor and definitely wouldn't be the last, you contemplated never actually thinking you'd end up here drowning in self loathing. You looked around as you sat up against the dilapidated cabits, fear daunting on you trying to remember what happened last night. Partying. Obviously dumbass. Bits and pieces started to come back to you in waves, oh god , bakugou. Your fear only growing as you don't even really remember what actually happened between you two. Okay. it was after patrol and Mina convinced you to go out with her and some other friends you knew from school. You were nervous, as always, doubting whether your friends actually liked you or not and mina having to yell at you to stop worrying so much and you agreed to go, it's not like she forced you or anything. She knew you liked bakugou which was probably a bad idea to tell you on your part because she kept pushing you near him the entire night. Reluctantly he did start another conversation with you after the 4th push from mina. You talked, danced, got drunk, and then more drunk until your night completely went black and alcohol forcing you to forget everything you did from then on. You looked up and started at the bottle of vodka you had spoiled last night when you came home. Maybe a drink couldn't hurt, it would help with the overwhelming embarrassment after all. A ring. A ring. What? Where the hell even was your phone? The annoying sound brought you back to reality as you scrambled up from the cold floor and stared at the counter where you had left the hunk of junk the night before. Oh. my. God. you felt your face get red. You started shaking, why do you have to be like this? Why did he have to be like this? The continuous ring broke your focus when anxiety was replaced with joy. It washed over you like a fresh hot shower, cleaning you of your uneasiness, and just when you were about to give up and give in to the bottle screaming for it to get finished. You happily jolted your arm out to pick up the phone. Too late. You missed it, you waited to long. Fucking idiot. He was probably saying the same thing and cursing at you through the phone. You didn't care. He called you. Called you. What the hell? You looked at the lit up screen. Missed call: Katsuki bakugou. Wow. you smiled, anxiety long forgotten. Maybe not. You frowned, why couldn't you pick up the phone like a normal person? Maybe he knew how pessimistic you were being towards everything right now and he thought a call would cheer you up, like he was sweeping out your brain of all wreckage you had caused yourself. Of course he knew you were a walking disaster, a call, like a broom to your mind, sweep, sweep, sweep. Or maybe he just pitied you. Poor me. You groaned. Fuck. Ring. Fuuuuck. You looked down at the screen slightly startled from the sudden vibrating. Bakugou, he was calling you again. You smiled, bliss filling your mind. You had to answer this time, you had to… last night, you were walking to the bar with mina, it was a chilly night. You weren't worried about that, you were already warm from the anxious feeling in the pit of your stomach because you were going to see bakugou. Laughing with mina as you reached the entrance, kirishima was the first one to notice you both turning around with a toothy grin calling your names excitedly, bakugou, surprised by kirishima's sudden outburst turned around with a confused expression then something else. You couldn't put your finger on it, was he smiling? Oh fuck. You tensed and smiled, mina bumped your shoulder. Bitch. Why did you always have to act like this around him, it's not like you were in high school anymore. So why act like a love struck school child around him? He smiled. oh my god. He smiled. At you. You inheradly looked away, like your shoes were the most interesting thing in the world. You heard something, your name. You looked up, bakugou was walking towards you, you panicked. Idiot. You blushed, you felt as if the air was getting warmer, like mid october turned into may. Like your clothes were going to swallow you hole. You wish they did. He said your name again, you smiled and he smiled back. Comfort replaced the warm air, joy filling your lungs as if you were already drunk on happiness. Walking in he held the door open for you. You thought that was the reason he was intentionally walking slower, what a dork. You were glad you had agreed to a night out, bakugou was being sweet, maybe you were over thinking it a little. He was the relief you needed, he sustained the wicked thoughts that haunted your brain, saving you from your own demise. He called you, and you were overjoyed. RING. the phone, you forgot about the phone, you were so caught up in past of last night that you forgot about bakugou calling you, again. If only you could see yourself, smiling like a mad man at your phone. People would probably think you were going crazy, bakugou was driving you crazy. He knew. You knew he knew. He had to know that you were overthinking everything, from the subtle touches from last night, how innocent and naive they were, how you both established a relationship without even saying anything to each other. You laughed out loud, maybe he just wanted to reassure you, rescuing you. You quickly pressed the green button, long forgotten the bottle of vodka, it's amazing how when you were about to give up and give into repeating the regret of last night he was calling to make sure you were fine. He knew… you breathed, it felt like you were breathing for the first time with no support, the weight lifting off your shoulders. Did he know you liked him this much? How happy he made you? Maybe mina said something to him, how pathetic you were, desperate . Pitty; Did he know pitty ? No. he liked you, he had to. You smiled into the phone, breathing. You were alive. You heard the same breath, it was shaky. He let out a huff. He was calling you. You were awakened. Joy streaming over and inside your body. He opened his mouth, “ Y/N? I think we should see other people.”
