Darling I'm a Mess

Summary:

Harley's kinda mad. Flying out to meet with Tony Stark, for an internship is nothing short of great. However, not being told that he would be meeting a super cute guy, and working with said super cute guy? Not cool. Harley's kinda mad... but it's okay.

It's okay, because he met Peter.

Notes:

Really short chapter as this is my very first one.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Chapter 1: Is it possible to forget how to breathe?

Chapter Text

Letting out a sigh, his feet thud on the freshly cleaned tiled floor as he walks in. Scanning the lobby, he walks towards the front desk, a woman looking up at him with a bored expression.

“How may I help you today?”

“Yeah hi, my name's Harley Keener. I’m here to see Tony Stark? He didn’t exactly tell me where to meet him but-”

“Do you have an appointment with Mr Stark?”

“Well, no but-“

“Then I’m sorry, but if you don’t have an appointment, you can’t see him today. Mr Stark is a very busy man.”

He groans in frustration, rolling his eyes. Of course. When you leave it to Tony and his 'we're connected' bullshit to take care of it, Harley knows that he's going to have to take matters into his own hands. But what could he do? He could try to outrun the security guards to the elevator... which was risky and kinda stupid. He sits, thinking to himself. He couldn't call Mr Stark because of the chance that he might be in a meeting but he didn't know anyone else here.

A noisy group of business men suddenly past him and Harley stands up, eyeing them.

Should I? Or should I not?

Pursing his lips, he decides, I should.

Quietly walking towards them, he bows his head in an attempt to blend in and follows them... straight into the elevator. Well, if the security guards notice him, it's too late now.

“Sir, what are you-“

He smirks in delight as the doors close just in time. The business men turn to look at each other, clearly confused as to what's happening. Hushed whispers filling the room as Harley patiently waits for the elevator to go up.

The elevator dings.

Finally.

Cautiously running into the nearest unoccupied room he can find, he waits till the security guards run past.

Sticking his head out the door, he looks left and right. You know, like you normally do when you're on the run. He steps out, turning to look behind and then to the front, where he collides into a blur of a figure.

“Oh gosh, I'm so sorry! Wasn’t paying attention as usual, well I mean clearly, since I ran into you, but hey! It was totally my fault, I was looking at my phone and wow has Mr Stark warned me about this before. I should have been paying more attent-“

The seemingly younger boy is staring at the floor in embarrassment and unaware of the fact that he was in fact, rambling.

“Hey,” He grips the shorter boy’s shoulders, causing him to stop mid-sentence. “It’s okay, I shouldn't just spring out of random rooms cause there's actually a chance I might bump into people.”

A snicker escapes the other boy and he raises his head. Dazzling brown eyes shyly look up, colliding with Harley's and suddenly, he forgets how to breathe.
