Chapter Text
Way back when I used to be bullied by Katsuki Bakugou... I, of course, hated every minute of it but I held out because I knew I loved him. I also knew he would never love me back, because I was a quirkless nobody to him. Leaving middle school to go to a different high school was tough but I managed since I knew that one day I'll see him in the working field, so I did everything I could to learn about him. Whether it was taking notes on his hero suit to his gauntlets to his classmates of 1-A what their quirks were and their hero costumes and weapons were as well. What their weaknesses were and so on and so forth. After he got kidnapped I did everything I could to learn about the villains that took him, from what their quirks were to the weapons they used. I had multiple notebooks filled with so many details and information on anything I could see and hear about anything.
If I mentioned how many notebooks, well let's just say I have about 3 bookshelves worth full of them. Now it's been four years since we parted and three years since he got kidnapped leading us to now which is our 3rd year of high school. On my right wrist, I have an exploding bomb tattoo and I knew instantly it was Kacchan who was my supposed soul mate, I don't know much about him but I really hope it's me if not it's okay I can be happy just watching him from afar. All I know is that I'll be heartbroken and probably suffer for the rest of my life but hey he made me suffer in the past so I can live with that. Going off to college I just know I want to stay home and work at the flower shop in town close to the Hero agency Kacchan told me he wanted to work in when we were little.
The Little Flower Shop is named Blooming Romance, it kind of fits for couples and I loved seeing all the flowers. I'll be going to Tokyo University, and renting an apartment close by the shop. I know the shop owner personally as she is a family friend of my dad's and even though he walked out on my mom Mrs. Yuko kept us near to her. I secured a spot as her cashier and I got the keys already, so I started right after I graduate. Hopefully, I can wear gloves while doing the cash register just in case since I don't feel comfortable showing the tattoo off to everyone.
Plus it's a habit to keep them on now that it's been a few years since I had the tattoo show up on my birthday. I just hope it doesn't get recognized by anyone... that would be hard to cover up and even explain. Anyway, it's time for my last class of the day, well more like practice with my class. We're practicing our graduation ceremony before we go off into the work force or college. And also this last practice is literally only hours away from the actual ceremony, so I have approximately Four and a half hours to kill before we walk.
"Izuku! Come on and hurry up let's go!!!!! We need to hurry!" My best friend Kara yelled at me enthusiastically
"Coming Kara!" I yelled back just as excitedly as she did
Now if you're wondering why her name's Kara it's just because she came to Japan with her family from America and she's also a big fan of All Might. We became best friends really fast and I can't wait to graduate with her by my side, she also knows about my one-sided crush on Kacchan and about the tattoo.
I ran and caught up with her wearing my uniform for the guys we were lucky enough to be allowed to have our phones and the girls not so much. But with all the running around we just did I’m hopefully hoping that my phone didn't fall out of my pocket. I felt down my pants where I know my pocket is and sighed in relief when I felt the familiar bulge of my phone case peeking out from the corner. I then looked up and said to her.
"I'm super nervous Kara..." I then began to mutter super fast "WhatifKacchanwasforcedtocomehere?Doyouthinkhe'llnotice?"
"Whoa slow down Zuku, repeat what you just said but slower." she told me as we walked to our assigned seats
"I said what if Kacchan was forced to come here and Do you think he'll notice you know the band that covers the tattoo it might slide around with all the leis I'll be receiving and whatnot. You know what I mean?"
"Yeah, I do and I doubt he will. He'll just want to get things done and over with if anything from what I've heard about him from you."
"Haha, yeah I guess you're right... I'm worried for nothing then." I sheepishly replied as we sat down.
"Hey!" She states as she lightly punches my arm "Things could've changed ya know. Maybe he might be different than what you used to know about him? I mean after that villain attack and him getting kidnapped you would think the person changed drastically for good making it worse or something right?"
I grimaced slightly from the force of the punch "You may be right but knowing him since childhood I don't think he's changed much… I mean have you seen the Sports festival… I can't imagine him being nice, that's just not his thing. But I guess I can see him slightly mellowed out? It'll just be really weird."
"Alright everyone! Quiet down! We need to get this last practice right before the big event. Does everyone remember their places and when to stand and when to sit? Do you also have the cards for the songs?! Oh please tell me no one forgot it." Tonomaru sensei said as he talked to use through the microphone on the stage.
“We have it all memorized Sensei, I’ll be sure to lead them well.” I stated as the Student Council President it was my duty to make sure of it.
“Good, good Midoriya-kun. Hiroko-san, since you are the student council vice president I also hope you’re ready to help Midoriya with everything.”
“Yes, Sensei” Kara responded back.
It was now time to practice one more time. Normally the original way to do the graduation ceremonies are for the Principal to speak but with Kara we were given a pass to do a small speech before everything. I walked to the stage and went to the microphone, standing tall I took a deep breath and opened my mouth to begin speaking. “To my fellow classmates from the class of 2019, I consider most of you the best classmates I’ve ever had the chance to sit with in class and learn with you, though it’s been only three years of knowing each other for most of us I truly believe that it was meant as a reason for all of us to be here right now graduating together as one. We became a family full of misfits and sure some of us had our ups and downs with each other, but we got through them and no matter how hard it was we always found a way. I sincerely hope you all find the perfect jobs out there in the workforce, either as a sidekick to a pro hero, a regular desk job, a small time hero for the neighborhood anything that you feel comfortable doing.”
I paused as I started to ramble a bit, looking to the teachers I spoke again “As student council president I am thankful for all the years you’ve taught us teaching us to hone our skills even if some of us had low skill quirks or no quirks at all, you accepted us all quirkless or not and for that I’m sure we’re all very grateful for the patience you have for each and every one of us. To our Parents, single parents or still married we thank you for the life lessons you have taught us while we were growing up, I know I can’t wait to use for I have an idea on how to us it to good use. For the rest of our families we’re also grateful for the harsh lifestyle you’ve sewn into each and every one of us. Family friends as well, everything we learned from you we hope to see ourselves blossom and in turn teach what you have taught us to the next generation.” I then bowed in respect for the teacher’s I had, before standing upright again “Please welcome our Principal Shuichi Masayoshi and wait for your name to be called to accept your diploma.” I bowed again as he came on stage and left to go back to my seat.
After finishing up the practice with standing and sitting while our names were being called we all took a breather outside. Kara and I talked with our group of friends then the cars came, they kept on coming and then it was “SHOW TIME” as Kara liked to put it.
