It's been a long ass day for Yoongi. Scavenging for food and looking for other survivors while fighting off those damned zombies isn't really good for his injured shoulder, so he decided it will be best for their group to find an abandoned house and settle for the night. Luckily they are able to find an empty and clean house without any hassle, and now all 5 of them are settled in front of the fireplace, all windows and doors boarded up while Seokjin unpacks the canned goods and snacks they were able to find in an almost empty supermarket earlier that day.
"Okay. We have 10 cans of tuna, 5 pork and beans, 3 cereals and 8 packs of potato chips. I think this is enough to hold us for a couple of days." Seokjin says.
"Alright. I think this place is pretty safe too, so we can stay here for now." Yoongi says and the others nod their heads at him. Soon, Seokjin gives them a canned tuna each for dinner.
"You doing alright there Yoongs?" Hoseok, his Alpha best friend since middle school, asks while sitting down beside him.
"Yeah I'm good, just tired. I'll take the first watch, you guys should get some rest." Yoongi replies.
Once everyone is done with their dinner, the rest of the group goes upstairs to clean themselves and sleep. Yoongi takes his baseball bat and makes sure that his gun is on his holster before dragging a chair near the door.
Settling in for the long night, Yoongi absentmindedly plays with his ring - the only reminder of the most important person in his life.

Stepping inside the hallway of his new apartment building, Yoongi cannot help but let out a sigh as he pulls on his luggage. Apparently, a 2 hour long train ride and a 20 minute taxi ride from the station was really, really taxing for an Alpha who is as lazy as they come. He cannot wait to get inside his apartment unit and throw his body to the couch, or the bed, whichever is nearer. Pressing the elevator button for the 4th floor, he just hopes that the things he asked to be moved in advance for his arrival are all intact, especially all of his music equipment.
As soon as the elevator doors open on his floor, his nose was assaulted by the most attractive scent that he has ever smelled in his life: the sweet scent of lotus and pear permeated the air and as he walks to the door of his apartment, his knees nearly buckled when he figures out that the scent is coming from his next door neighbor. He anchors his hand on the wall to avoid slumping down to the floor, when the door of his neighbor was yanked open and he was met by the sight of the most gorgeous Omega he has ever seen in his life.
The Omega has blonde hair, crescent eyes, chubby cheeks, plump lips and a sharp jawline. They seem to be of the same height, but the Omega looks so soft and small in his oversized sweater and long skirt. His pupils are blown wide as he stares directly into Yoongi's eyes.
"A-alpha.." The Omega stammers as his eyes flash blue. Yoongi can feel his wolf trying to claw his way out of his skin, and he is pretty sure that his eyes flash gold as well when he heard the Omega call him.
Yoongi knows what this is - this Omega is his true mate. It is a rare occurence, but true mates do exist. True mates feel a stronger pull to each other, their scent affects them in a deeper level and some couples even have the ability to hear each other's thoughts once mated.
Yoongi clears his throat and extends his free hand as he introduces himself. "I'm Min Yoongi, your new neighbor, and I think your my mate."
The Omega blinks at him a couple of times, mouth opening and closing but with no words coming out. Finally, he looks down into Yoongi's extended hand and placed his own to shake the Alpha's hand. "I'm J-jimin, Park Jimin. Nice to meet you, Min Yoongi."

Yoongi was woken up by shouts coming from downstairs. Retrieving his weapons, he hurriedly goes down to the living area where he sees Hoseok holding a hysterical Namjoon who looks like he wants to attack Seokjin.
"What the fuck is happening here?"
"Taehyung is gone! And it's all Seokjin-hyung's fault!" Namjoon shouts.
Hoseok abruptly turns Namjoon around on his arms to face him and says, "Don't you dare blame my mate on this! He tried his best to look for him and he even risked his life!"
"Seok-ah, stop it. Can someone explain to me what the hell happened? Jin-hyung?" Yoongi asks.
Seokjin looks hesitantly at him, gaze going back and forth to the three people in the room. He then took a deep breath and started telling what happened. Apparently, he was planning to scout the houses on the area to look for food when Taehyung insisted to join him. They were around 8 streets away from their current shelter when a hoard of zombies came and the two were separated, with Taehyung running on the opposite direction.
"I hid on one of the houses until the hoard dispersed. I was planning on looking for him but I ran out of bullets. Yoongi, we have to go out and look for him. He might be an Omega but we all know that Tae is resilient, so I am sure he is alive but we need to get him back."
"He's right Yoongi-hyung. Let's go now!" Namjoon says.
"Okay, okay. But we need a plan - our ammos are running low, so we have to make sure we know where we're going. Jin-hyung, can you draw me a map based on what you saw outside? Seok-ah, gather all of our weapons. We need to-"
"What the hell hyung? We do not have time for this! Taehyung is out there, scared and all alone! We need to go right now!"
"I understand that Joon, but we have to think this through-"
"I am going, now! I don't fucking care what you guys do, but I am going!"
"Namjoon-ah, stop! Yoongs is right, we need to plan this through." Hoseok reaches out and grabs Namjoon's arm.
"Joon, I know that you are worried, and I understand that-"
"No! You'll never understand because you've never lost someone, let alone someone you love!" Namjoon exclaims.
"Don't you fucking dare Kim Namjoon! You do not know me, and you do not know what I have been through!" Yoongi shouts back, fists clenched tightly on his sides.
"And you don't fucking know-"
"Alright enough!" Hoseok interjects using his Alpha voice. It does not affect Namjoon and Seokjin because they are both Betas, but it was enough to shut Namjoon up. Yoongi's wolf on the other hand felt challenged and threatened, but he reels him in. Taking deep breaths, he turns his back from the three and makes his way back to his room. He needs some time to calm down. He needs a clear mind if they want to get Taehyung back.

The past year has been the best year of Yoongi's life - meeting Jimin filled it with happiness, purpose and love. After their initial meeting, Yoongi formally asked Jimin to go on a coffee date, where they learned about each other. They shared stories about their families, work, childhood memories, interests, aspirations, etc. The following week, Jimin agreed to becoming Yoongi's boyfriend. After 3 months, Yoongi asked Jimin to move in with him. 6 months into knowing each other, Jimin asked Yoongi to spend his heat with him. Yoongi was really nervous, he was not a virgin but he has never spent a heat or rut with anyone, but being true mates was clearly helpful as he lets his instincts take care of his Omega.
And now, as they wait for Yoongi's knot to go down, celebrating their first year anniversary, there is no place on Earth he would rather be than with Jimin, wrapped on his arms while spooning him. The Omega was still catching his breath when Jimin suddenly gasps and hastingly reaches out on their bedside drawer.
"What the fuck Sunshine, settle down or you're going to hurt yourself!"
Jimin lies back down after closing the drawer, a velvet box on his hands. "I'm sorry, but I almost forgot. I got this for you. Happy anniversary Love!"
Yoongi takes the box from Jimin and his breath hitches as he opens it - inside there are 2 plain white gold bands. He takes one out and reads the engraving: "Always."
"Goddammit Park Jimin."
"What? Are you crying?" Jimin laughs as he peeks into his shoulder to see the Alpha. "They are promise rings. I wanted to show you that I am yours, and you are mine, always."
"Always." Yoongi kisses Jimin, conveying how much he loves his Omega with all of his heart. He wants Jimin to feel that there will be no one else beside him, that he will die for him if need be.
Jimin breaks the kiss. He stares at his Alpha's eyes and says, "On my next heat, will you mate me?"
"Yes Sunshine, gladly."

It has been 15 minutes since Yoongi left the others, and now that he has calmed down he needs to get back to check their weapons and also view the map from Seokjin. As he is making his way down the stairs, he hears Seokjin gasp and say, "You mean to say, Yoongi has a true mate?"
"Yes, he does." Hoseok answers. "When everything went down, Jimin was on his way to his family's house in Busan, and then Yoongi lost contact with him when the communications got shut down the next day. He was so worried, so we both made our way to Busan as well, but when we got there it looked like a ghost town - there was no one alive on sight. We got to their place but it was empty. We stayed there for weeks, looking around the neighborhood and fighting off zombies. Yoongi was so lost, devastated. He said he cannot feel Jimin's pull anymore. It was bad enough that they still haven't mated yet, so the connection was really frail.
After that, we decided to make our way back here in Seoul, hoping that somehow, Jimin is alive and was looking for him as well. Months passed but nothing. In all those times, Yoongi stopped talking, like he stopped living too. It took a lot for me to remind him that there's still hope, that he cannot give up. And then one day, while we're out and looking for a new place to stay, we smelled someone, an Omega. We both knew it was not Jimin, but knowing that there's another person alive gave Yoongi a purpose, a determination that he has lost. And that's when we found you and Taehyung, Namjoon-ah."
"You saved us." Namjoon replies.
"Yeah, we did. And that's how we began our quest to look for other survivors. We met a lot along the way, but they were already on groups so we did not stay long. Then we met you Jin, and you know the rest. Seeing Yoongi lose himself like that, it was so heartbreaking but seeing him live again, even with us putting our lives on the line, it was more than I can ask for. So he understands you Namjoon-ah, he knows more than us how losing someone-"
Yoongi clears his throat as he makes his way to the three sitting on the living area. He needs to stay focused and not dwell on the memory of his lost mate. Seokjin abruptly stands up and hands him the map that he drew. Hoseok looks guilty and apprehensive, because he knows that Yoongi does not like talking about Jimin. "Yoongs-"
"How many weapons do we have Seok-ah?"
They then talked and came up with a plan on how to find Taehyung as fast as possible. The sun is about to set which makes it difficult for them to see, but also helpful so they can sneak their way through any zombies that they will pass through. They loaded all of their weapons and make their way out through the door.

Yoongi walks up to Jimin and wraps him from behind. He buries his nose into the crook of the Omega's neck. "Do you really need to go Sunshine? Your heat is close."
"Yes Love, it's Kook-ah's birthday soon and you know that I never miss his birthday, even if his a brat. Besides, my heat is not due for at least 2 weeks, and I will be back on Sunday." Jimin answers as he turns and wrap his arms around Yoongi's neck.
"Alright. I'm sorry that I was not able to get off from work, or else I would go with you. I have yet to meet your family, you know."
"It's fine. And don't worry, they are excited to meet you too, but they understand." Jimin says as he gives Yoongi a kiss. Yoongi did not hesitate to deepen the kiss. Once they break apart, he trails kisses down the Jimin's neck and kisses the Omega's scent gland.
"Promise you'll text and call me every chance you get?"
"It's just 2 days Love, but yes I promise. I love you Yoongi."
"I love you too, Sunshine."
"Always."
"Always."

Removing the knife from the zombie's head for the 6th time tonight, they are almost 10 streets away from their current shelter. Yoongi feels frustrated - they have been searching for the past hour and still no sign of Taehyung.
"Anything, Seok-ah? Can you scent him?"
"No, sorry Yoongs!"
"It's okay, we keep going." Yoongi answers as he wipes the rotten smelling blood on the zombies clothes. They continue moving and slipping past zombies until Yoongi feels a sharp tug on his chest, making him falter on his step.
"Yoongi, what's wrong?" Seokjin worriedly asks.
"Nothing, l'm good hyung. We should keep moving." Yoongi answers while he rub circles on his chest. A few houses after, he catches a scent - a strong cinnamon and musk scent - an Alpha. Hoseok seems to catch it too as he whip his head to look at Yoongi.
"What is it? Is it Taehyung?" Namjoon asks.
"No, it's another Alpha. He might be alone, we should check it out." Hoseok suggests.
The four of them follows the scent, with Hoseok on the lead and they stop in front of a boarded up house. There is clearly someone inside, they can see a faint light peek through one of the boarded windows. Yoongi scents the air and he catches a very familiar scent. Without another word, he runs straight into the door. Before he could pound on it though, the door was pushed open and he was yanked by a pair of very familiar arms.
Yoongi does not need to look - even when they spent the last months apart, he always know how well the other's body fits with his own. There is no mistaking it, as he buries his neck and inhaled the scent of lotus and pear, as he moves his arms up and down the sides of the Omega's body, it's Jimin. His Jimin.
All of the sudden the tug on his chest makes sense. It was the pull, letting him know that his true mate is close by. Everything around them seems to disappear, all he can focus on is Jimin, his Omega, whose face is buried on the crook of his neck and is sobbing hysterically, hugging him tight, like he is afraid that Yoongi is not real. He fights his own tears, instincts telling him that he needs to comfort his distressed Omega, so he releases calming pheromones as he shushes the other.
"It's okay Sunshine. I'm here, I'm here now. I'm here Jimin." Yoongi continues to whisper to the other's ear. They were wrapped up in each other that Yoongi did not notice the other 2 people inside the house, not until Namjoon runs inside to tackle Taehyung, who is as surprised as the others with what is happening between Yoongi and Jimin.
Hoseok ushers the couple inside the house while they were locked in an embrace, with Seokjin following them and closing the door behind them. Jimin is still refusing to let Yoongi go, but the Alpha coaxes him out of the embrace. "Let me look at you Sunshine. Come on, let me see your pretty face."
Jimin reluctantly pushes his face away from where it was buried into Yoongi's neck. Yoongi cups Jimin's cheeks and trails his eyes all over the Omega's face. Jimin lost a lot of weight, his full cheeks now almost sunken. There are dark circles under his eyes too, and his eyes are now currently blue, which means he is deep into his Omega space. Yoongi lets his inner wolf handle the situation, eyes turning into gold as he scents Jimin to let the Omega know that his Alpha is here and that they are safe.
Yoongi completely forgot about everyone else on the room until someone clears their throat. He reels his wolf back in, eyes turning back into deep brown, and looks at the Alpha that he and Hoseok scented earlier.
"You must be Yoongi-hyung. I'm Jungkook, Jimin's brother." Jungkook extends his hand and Yoongi, wihout letting Jimin go, reaches out to shake his hand too.
"It's nice to finally meet you Kook-ah. I am so glad you and Jimin are okay."
"I am Hoseok, and this is my mate Jin." Hoseok shakes Jungkook hand as well. "That is Namjoon by the way, Taehyung's boyfriend."
"Nice to meet you guys! Tae-hyung has told us all about you actually. And Jimin-hyung recognized Yoongi-hyung's scent on him. We were planning to go to you guys tomorrow, but it seems you beat us into the punch." Jungkook explains.
"Love..." Jimin speaks up, his eyes back into their normal brown ones.
"Yes Sunshine?"
"I love you Yoongi. Always."
"I love you Jimin. Always."
8 Months Later
The sun streams in and the bright light wakes up Yoongi, he must have forgotten to completely shut the door before going to bed last night. He immediately turns and slings his arm to wrap around Jimin's waist but was met by an empty space beside him. Jimin must have been awake, so he gets up to go outside where he is sure Jimin is.
After they found Jimin, Jungkook and Taehyung, the group decided to make their way to Gwangju where they found an abandoned shipyard. There was a perimeter fence a few ways from the shipping containers which was perfect for them. They cleared the area of the few zombies loitering around and fixed some of the containers to become rooms where they can stay in. They also made a common area, one container has also been turned into a kitchen and another one turned into a bathroom. It took them months to set it all up, with multiple visits to surrounding areas to gather resources and furnitures that they needed, but they have managed to make the place their own.
During their trips, they also found another group of survivors, who they offered to stay with them. Their group of 7 doubled into 14, but luckily they all get along well. The new addition to their family shares the same goal of finding other survivors and offering them help, and so they continue their missions along with their supply runs. Everything has fell into place for them - even Jungkook found a companion in Yugyeom, one of the Omegas from the other group.
Yoongi goes outside but he did not see Jimin where he usually sits on the table at their common area. He then went to the kitchen where a pot of coffee ready but no Jimin on sight. He grabs a mug and pours coffee all the while wondering where his mate is.
Jimin, Sunshine, where are you?
Yoongi does not get a reply so he walks outside again. After Yoongi and Jimin mated, and true to their true mates nature, the two can now feel each other's emotions and read each other's thoughts. It did not take a lot to get used to it, as the couple has always been in tune with each other. As Yoongi makes his way back to their room, Jimin replies.
I'm at the beach Love.
Yoongi then starts to walk down the beach, where he sees Jimin sitting by the shore, a yellow blanket wrapped around him. Even from afar, Yoongi can clearly see the relaxed and serene expression on his mate's face. He walks up to him and settles behind him, hugging Jimin from behind.
"Why are you up so early Sunshine?"
"Oh! I can't sleep. This little bean kept kicking me so I just decided to walk down here. I think this one likes the sound of the waves." Jimin says with one hand resting above his baby bump. Yoongi instinctively wraps his arms around Jimin's waist, hand resting on top of Jimin's.
"I'm sorry the baby is giving you a hard time." Yoongi says as he buries his face into Jimin's neck.
Jimin hums in agreement. "I cannot wait for him to get here."
"Wait, you think it's a boy?" Yoongi inquires.
"Yeah. I think it's an Alpha too, seeing how restless and how hard he kicks me sometime."
"Well, I cannot wait to meet him then. What should we name our little Alpha?"
"Uhmmm. How do you feel about Jiyoon?"
"Jiyoon. Wisdom. I like it Sunshine."
They both sat there in silence as they watch the waves crash to the shore. They feel both happy and content, finally finding peace after years of surviving the doom that happened around them. Here, in this place that they now call their own, they are starting a new chapter of their lives.
