Work Text:
Jyuto closed the door of his car with a sigh. He was finally, finally home after a very long day at work. He couldn’t wait to sit down, have a nice dinner and drink some of the wine he kept for special occasions. The special occasion today? It was Jyuto’s birthday.
He quietly hummed to himself as he made his way to the front door of his apartment. As he reached out to unlock the door, he heard some things shuffling around from inside his apartment. He quickly moved to quietly unlocked the door and placed his free hand on the handgun inside his pocket, ready to draw it when necessary.
The place was still dark and looked just how he’d left it. The silence made Jyuto start to doubt himself; was he just hearing things? But then there it was again, he could hear a low voice mumbling and heard some things move around again. It seemed like.. it was coming from the kitchen?
Jyuto sneaked his way towards his kitchen and pulled his gun from his pocket, pointing it at the two figures in his kitchen, “Hands up, or I-- oh.’’
“Oi!’’ Samatoki grumbled as he looked over his shoulder at Jyuto, “Put that fuckin’ gun away, will ya? And leave the kitchen. You’re not allowed to enter until we say so,’’ he poked Riou in his side with his elbow and shot him a grin. Riou looked up and nodded slowly, a gentle smile on his face,
“Please leave us alone for a little longer, Jyuto.’’
Jyuto stared at the two men, feeling a little flabbergasted, before he tucked his gun away under his belt, “May I ask how you two ended up here? I don’t recall giving any of you two a key.’’
“I have my tricks, and they are none of your business. Now shoo!’’ Samatoki huffed and turned his back to Jyuto again, continuing working on whatever he was making.
Sighing, Jyuto shook his head and turned around, leaving the kitchen to go to his bedroom instead. He took off his shoes, he had forgotten to take them off after entering the house, and then stripped out of his suit. He put on a pair of sweatpants instead, and one of his comfortable hoodies, and threw his clothes into the laundry basket.
He made his way to the living room again and sat down on the couch. After turning on the TV, he went to the new channel and propped his feet up on the table. “Are you guys almost done in there? I’m really thirsty, you know.”
Neither Samatoki nor Riou gave him a reply, and Jyuto waited a few more seconds, before turning around in annoyance. Just as he opened his mouth to say something again, Riou walked into the living room, holding a glass of water, “Is this okay for now?”
“Uhm, yeah, sure,” Jyuto mumbled as he accepted the glass, “Thanks Riou. I don’t know what you two are doing in there, but are you almost done?’’
“Hmmh,’’ Riou replied with a nod and patted the top of Jyuto’s head affectionately, before leaving the man alone again to return to the kitchen. Jyuto’s cheeks tinted red and he sighed, shaking his head once again as he returned his attention to the TV in front of him.
After what felt like hours to Jyuto, but was probably only ten more minutes, Samatoki called him from the kitchen, “Hey, bunny, come join us, will ya?”
The bespectacled man placed his, now empty, glass on the table and pushed himself up from the couch, before making his way to the kitchen. His eyes widened at the sight that greeted him. On the table were several, smaller, hot pot dishes, from sukiyaki to yudofu. Jyuto couldn’t believe his eyes. “Did you two make this for me?’’ he asked, dumbly.
“Yeah, who else would have done this?’’ Samatoki replied cheekily, which earned him a slap on the arm from Jyuto. He laughed softly and wrapped his arm around the smaller man, pulling him close, “Hey, happy birthday, Jyuto.’’ he mumbled.
Jyuto smiled as he returned the hug and placed a gentle kiss on the white haired man’s cheek, “Thanks, Samatoki. And you too, Riou,’’ He released Samatoki to turn to the other man, hugging him close as well. Riou hugged Jyuto back and stroked the bespectacled man’s hair,
“Happy birthday, Jyuto. Let’s eat now, shall we?’’
Jyuto agreed with a laugh, let go of the taller man, and all three of them sat down at the dinner table to enjoy all the food Riou and Samatoki had cooked.
After hours of food, fun and drinks the three men had moved to Jyuto’s couch, all cuddling close together under one of Jyuto’s big fluffy blankets. Samatoki sipped on his hot cocoa and looked over Jyuto’s head at Riou, “Oi, Riou, did you bring the cake?”
“Of course I did,” The tallest man replied and looked up from the movie they were watching, “Do you want me to get it?”
“Dunno. What do you want, Rabbit?’’ Samatoki looked at Jyuto, who was looking a little drowsy as he watched the movie as well. He poked his side gently and huffed, “Answer me.”
Jyuto looked up, a little startled; as if he didn’t hear the conversation between the two men at all, and shook his head, “Can’t we wait? I feel like I’m going to explode if I eat even more.”
“Yes. We’ll eat it later.” Riou nodded and reached out to gently stroke the smallest man’s hair. Jyuto released a soft sigh and leaned into the man’s touch, his eyes fluttering shut, “You’re tired, aren’t you?’’
“I am,’’ Jyuto mumbled and squeaked as he was suddenly lifted from his place, two strong hands holding his body. Riou placed the man gently in his lap and wrapped his strong arms around him, holding him close.
“You should sleep.”
Jyuto sighed as he looked up and shook his head, “I’d feel bad. You two did so much for me, I can’t just fall asleep now.” Despite his words, he took off his glasses and moved to rest his head in the crook of the other man’s neck.
Samatoki looked at the two men for a moment, and then moved to sit close to them. He wrapped the blanket around the three of them and rested his head against Riou’s bicep, his eyes closing as well. Riou looked at his two teammates with a fond smiles on his lips, “Sleep well, everyone.”
