Chapter Text
It was the bass of the music. This rhythmic thumping that vibrated his entire body and seeped into his very core, it had to be the music blaring from the speakers at every corner of the club. And this luminous glow that radiated before him, the flickering lights that added ambiance along with the heart-mimicking rhythm of the music that had his chest aching.
Shouto was experiencing the gimmick of this infamous club that played with the five senses, that’s what it was. The fact that Midoriya was leaning on his shoulder, arms wrapped around his torso for support, and that his lips graced his neck when he mumbled incoherent words to him had nothing to do with this reaction.
Midoriya was radiant in his arms, aglow with the lighting of the room. Freckles dusted his nose and his cheeks and his shoulders peeking out from his fallen shirt sleeves. The exposed skin sparkled beneath the club lights as they reflected off the slick sweat that covered him. The thumping came faster now, Shouto’s arm tightening around Midoriya in the same manner that his chest constricted.
Midoriya moved closer, his body pressed into Shouto’s side, his heart repeating the rhythm of the music at a much rapid speed. His green eyes wide and curiously looking at him, an infectious smile graced his lips that Shouto couldn’t help but return.
If Midoriya had informed him of his low tolerance of alcohol, Shouto wouldn’t have given him the remainder of his beer. Sure, it looked like Midoriya had sobered up after he had puked most of it out of his system, but it was better if he didn’t try to wander around too far. It was safer if Midoriya could just stay snuggled up into his chest, whispering ridiculous little notes about famous heroes, swaying into him when the ending slow dance came on.
Shouto hugged him tighter, allowing Midoriya to rest his entire weight on him, and whispered a soft ‘Don’t let go’ in his ear.
