   Summary

   No one quite knows when the first hybrid was discovered. The strange humans with animal-like features and special abilities had existed for as long as history had been recorded. And, while things had changed greatly over time, one thing remained the same--hybrids were viewed as less than human.
   For over a century, “training campuses” had existed for humans to mold hybrids into perfect service creatures. Most specialized in bodyguard-type training because hybrids were typically faster and stronger than regular humans.
   Some theorized that the campuses were created as a way to control the hybrids because humans feared their advanced strength and special skills.
   After all, if you beat an animal into submission, you no longer have to fear it.
