Work Text:
Yoongi is finally accepting that he’s gonna be spending his Friday night in his apartment watching reruns of old sitcoms when Taehyung comes bursting through his door, carrying plastic bags filled with snacks as if he owned the place.
“Giving you a key is one of the worst things–”
Taehyung cuts him off by dumping everything in the bags into his lap, ignoring the glare Yoongi gives him as he turns on Netflix and immediately goes to the horror movie category.
“I hate horror movies.” Taehyung just grins at him and clears a spot next to him on the couch. Yoongi continues his protest even after the movie starts.
“You’ll like it, stop complaining.” Taehyung says, opening a can of Pringles. Holly jumps up onto Taehyung’s lap and stares at Yoongi with his tongue hanging out. Yoongi makes a face at the dog. Holly tilts his head, and Taehyung starts petting him.
“Doubt it.” Yoongi sits back and resigns himself to watching shitty horror movies he knows he’ll be afraid of, regardless of how bad they are.
And if he has a smile on his face, that’s only because Holly is just that cute staring up at him. Definitely not because Taehyung decided to spend his Friday night keeping him company. Obviously.
—
Their seven-man group decided to have a get-together in Taehyung’s apartment, all of them having a day off at the same time being a rare occurrence. Aside from Yoongi, who no one could seem to get a hold of.
“Tae, where’s Yoongi hyung?” Namjoon asks after sending off his millionth text to the man. Yoongi usually doesn't answer his texts, but the complete radio silence is a bit unusual, even for him.
“He’s just sleeping,” Taehyung reassures. “Finals kicked his ass.”
Namjoon nods, taking a seat on the floor next to Jungkook. Taehyung, who lays stretched across Jimin and Seokjin, hits him with a pillow and tells him to pick a movie. Seokjin pushes him off his lap and onto the floor before Namjoon can respond.
“Why would you tell Namjoon to pick a movie? He always takes forever to decide.” Hoseok groans. Before Namjoon can even think of defending himself, Jungkook shoots up and takes the now-empty spot on the couch.
“What the fuck,” Taehyung exclaims, staring at the younger boy in betrayal. “That was my spot.”
Jungkook smiles— a cheesy bunny grin which does nothing but make Taehyung pout more— and takes the remote from where it fell on the floor. “Guess we’re watching Avengers again.” Namjoon grumbles.
“Shut up, hyung. It’s Captain Marvel this time.” Jungkook says, rolling his eyes. “For Seokjin hyung.” Seokjin doesn't look like he knows what Jungkook is talking about. He mouths ‘me?’ at Jungkook, his finger pointing at his chest. Jungkook ignores him.
The click of a door has everyone but Taehyung looking over to his bedroom, where Yoongi comes out looking disheveled and wearing one of Taehyung's shirts.
“Where's my pillow.” Yoongi says, voice groggy. Namjoon doesn't even hesitate before pointing at Taehyung. Motherfucking Namjoon.
“Come to bed,” Yoongi yawns. “I’m tired and I can't sleep.” The way he says it makes it obvious Taehyung has no choice. Taehyung, his attention now on Yoongi along with the other five, groans.
“But hyung, we haven’t even started the movie yet.” He protests, getting up despite his words. Yoongi shrugs, walking back to the bedroom with Taehyung behind him.
“Yo,” Jungkook starts after a period of silence. “Tae is totally Yoongi hyung’s bitch.”
Seokjin slaps his arm.
He receives a few murmurs of agreement, no matter what Seokjin thinks.

Yoongi’s in his studio, Namjoon and Hoseok lounging on the couch in front of his desk. They had been trying to figure out what to do for their next song for the past few hours, only having a brief idea of what the melody will be after putting together lyrics. Hoseok had decided on a break which Namjoon and Yoongi agreed to, after some convincing on Yoongi’s part.
“We should eat something.” Namjoon declares. Hoseok nods his head but doesn't look up from his phone. Yoongi stares at Namjoon, who also hasn't looked up from his phone.
“Are you paying?”
Namjoon stares back at Yoongi, his head held high and eyebrows raised. Yoongi tilts his head slightly with his lips pursed. Hoseok looks between the two of them.
“I’ll pay, what the fuck.” Hoseok says after Yoongi starts glaring.
“The fuck you won’t,” Yoongi directs his glare towards Hoseok. “I’ll pay.”
“Wai-” Namjoon is cut off by Yoongi’s phone buzzing. Namjoon doesn't finish what he was saying, instead sinks back into the couch looking defeated.

Yoongi sighs and puts his phone down.
“Taehyung is coming.”
“Why don't you answer me that quickly?” Namjoon asks.
“Because you only text us at 4am asking weird existential questions. It’s the reason Seokjin hyung blocked your number.” Hoseok answers. Yoongi nods in agreement.
“Stop. I could be in a life threatening situation, you don't know. Maybe I’m dead right now because you guys ignore my texts,” Namjoon says. “Oh my God… Wait, guys–”
“So, anyways, I’m paying for the food. What do you guys want?” Yoongi cuts Namjoon off before he can continue, hoping he forgets about his train of thought before he decides to shoot him a text at 4am.
“I thought Tae was coming? Let’s wait for him.” Hoseok suggests. Namjoon looks at him like he just found the cure for fucking cancer. It makes Yoongi want to gag. The admiration Namjoon feels for Hoseok is almost sickening. Though, the admiration Hoseok feels for Namjoon is equally as sickening. They’re both disgusting
He says exactly that.
“Don't be mad I’m getting love dick and you're not.” Namjoon says smugly. Yoongi rolls his eyes, wondering what the fuck love dick is. Hoseok seems to be having the same train of thought as him, if his confused expression is anything to go by.
“Hyung! I need your- oh, hi Namjoon hyung, Hoseok hyung.” Taehyung walks into the studio, looking panicked. He smiles at Namjoon and Hoseok as he greets them, then turns back to Yoongi, panic back on his face like it never left.
“Hyung, I need your help.” Taehyung says. Yoongi breathes in slowly. Taehyung never asks for help unless he does something incredibly stupid. He nods once, as if to say ‘keep going’. “So, I may have accidentally adopted a lizard.”
Yoongi blinks once, twice. Looks over at Namjoon and Hoseok who both look equally as concerned as they do amused. He looks back at Taehyung, searching his eyes for any hint of amusement, but there is none. Taehyung may be a good actor but he isn't good enough to lie to Yoongi.
“How do you accidentally adopt a lizard?” Yoongi asks against his better judgement. He knows when it comes to Taehyung, you shouldn't ask why he does something, just accept it.
“Okay, I was talking to my friend Dahyun, right? And she says something about how her friend Chaeyoung adopted a pet lizard when she was drunk, and now she doesn't know what to do because she can't take care of it.” He replies. Yoongi nods, following the story. He’s heard of Dahyun and Chaeyoung. They're younger girls who tend to get into a lot of weird shit, along with another girl around the same age. Of course Taehyung would be friends with them. “So, I may have offered to take it off her hands.” He finishes.
“That doesn't sound very accidental.”
“Well, yeah, but I wasn't really thinking anything other than ‘that poor lizard deserves a good family who can take care of him,’ so it was accidental because I accidentally offered,” he directs his gaze to his feet. “I was just really sad about the lizard not having a family.”
Yoongi sighs, getting up off his chair. “Did you get the stuff it needs to survive? Do you even know how to take care of a lizard?” He asks. Once Taehyung realizes what Yoongi is doing, he beams. “I’ll help you. CanI name it?”
“No, I already named him. He’s called Tata.” Taehyung answers. They leave with Taehyung talking a mile a minute about how he already looked up everything you need to know about lizard care, and Yoongi nodding along, humming in the right places to show he’s listening.
The studio door shuts behind the two, leaving Namjoon and Hoseok behind, completely forgotten about.
“Holy shit,” Hoseok whispers. “Yoongi is totally whipped too.” Namjoon hums in agreement. He stares at the studio door, bewildered.
“And he called us sickening.”

They're sitting in a booth at the local Starbucks when Yugyeom walks in. Taehyung isn't as close to him as Jungkook, but they talk sometimes so it’s only polite to wave hello. Yugyeom waves back and goes to order. Once he gets his drink he walks over to their table.
“Hey guys,” he greets them. “How’s it going?”
Taehyung smiles politely at him. “It’s been good. Nothing new, really.”
Yoongi just shrugs, taking a sip of his iced coffee.
“Well, I’m glad you're doing good. I just wanted to say hi, haven't seen either of you in a while.” Yugyeom smiles. “Haven't really talked to Jungkook lately either. Think he’s been busy trying to get into Seokjin hyung’s pants.”
Taehyung's mouth drops open. “Seokjin hyung?”
Yoongi laughs around his straw. “You didn't know? He’s been so obvious about it.”
“I thought Jungkook was straight.” Yoongi gives him a condescending look, then shoves his hands under Taehyung's shirt. They both miss Yugyeom’s eyebrows shoot up.
“Hyung,” Taehyung whines. “Your hands are cold.”
“You're warm.” Yoongi says indifferently. He takes another sip of his drink without moving his hands.
Yugyeom quietly laughs at them after he gets over his shock. “Well, I’ll let you two get back to your date. Have fun! It was good to see you!” He says, walking away from them.
“Hold on,” Taehyung tries to stop him. “It's not-”
Yugyeom is gone.
“Does he think we're dating? Was he just teasing us?” Taehyung questions. “I’m so confused…” He trails off, going silent.
Yoongi says, “Dating, probably.” He looks at his now empty iced coffee with despair. “Should I get another one?” He frowns.
“Hyung,” Taehyung starts. “He thinks we’re dating.”
Yoongi switches his gaze from his drink to Taehyung. He’s no longer frowning, but he’s not smiling either, and his eyes are filled with amusement.
When you’ve known someone as long as Taehyung has known Yoongi, you get this kind of ability to predict them, making it so Taehyung usually knows what Yoongi is going to say. He thinks they gained some sort of telepathic connection, because he can basically read his mind. Jungkook calls it pretty fucking awesome, Namjoon calls it pretty fucking weird.
So, when Yoongi says “We are kind of dating,” it shocks Taehyung out of his mind. That’s not what he was expecting.
“Seriously, should I get another coffee?” Yoongi says, ignoring Taehyung's mental breakdown. “I want one but I don't know if my bank account can handle it.”
Taehyung doesn't answer.
Yoongi sighs and gets up. “I’m getting another.” He says. Taehyung just nods. “Good luck with your… existential crisis or whatever.”
Yoongi shakes his head as he walks away, laughing fondly.

Fuck Jimin for making him come here, really. This girl has been pressing herself against him for at least 10 minutes, yet she still hasn't caught the hint that he’s not interested. Either that or she doesn't care.
“Maybe we should go somewhere more… private?” She purrs, tugging him towards the back of the club. Holy shit, he can't handle this. Code red. He needs a fucking adult. (Fuck, he is the adult.)
He spots Yoongi and acts without thinking.
“I’m sorry,” he points at Yoongi. “I have a boyfriend.”
The girl backs off of him immediately, a disbelieving look on her face.
“No you don't,” she says. “You're not gay.” Taehyung ruffles his eyebrows. How the fuck would she know if he’s gay or not? “And you're definitely not his type.” She finishes saying. Taehyung's mouth drops open slightly.
“I am so his type,” he argues. “And I am so gay! Hella homo!” He states, voice going high pitched. The girl doesn't look convinced, her arms crossed and one eyebrow raised. She looks a bit like she’ll start tapping her foot impatiently, like her ride is late. Probably a limousine. She reminds Taehyung of the rich daddy’s girl type.
“Yoongi-hyung!” He calls. Yoongi looks over in question. “Come here!”
Yoongi walks over after excusing himself to the guy he was talking to. “What?” He asks, sounding irritated.
“This is my boyfriend ,” he enunciates boyfriend, hoping Yoongi will understand. “Yoongi. Yoongi, this is… um.” He trails off, not remembering the girls name.
“You don't even know her name? You're terrible.” Yoongi frowns. “If you were hitting on him I recommend not. He’s the worst.” He says to the girl. He looks up at Taehyung, who’s pouting. Yoongi shakes his head and looks back at the girl, a small smile on his face. The girl seems to be contemplating something, before she nods once.
“He’s your boyfriend.” She states, turning around and leaving. To find some other weak soul to seduce, probably.
“She was cute. Why didn't you go for it?” Yoongi asks when she’s far enough away. Taehyung glances at Yoongi, who is staring up at him in confusion. He breathes in slowly.
“I don't want to fuck around tonight.” He answers. “Plus, she seems like the type to poke a hole in the condom.” Yoongi laughs at that, smile not leaving his face after he stops.
“Let's go dance.” Yoongi suggests. Taehyung grins and pulls him towards the dance floor.
Jimin, who was watching the whole thing not far away, says “Someone's getting dick tonight!” Jungkook, standing next to him, cackles.
“I told you Tae is Yoongi-hyung’s bitch.” Jimin rolls his eyes, and starts pulling him towards the dance floor too.
“I never disagreed,” he says. “Let's get you some dick tonight too. Seokjin’s looking cute, don’t you think?”

Yoongi is one hundred percent done with Taehyung's bullshit. He’s been moping around in his room for days, only leaving to get a snack or go to the bathroom. Yoongi gets it, he really does understand that sometimes you need space to sort your shit out— sometimes life gets too hard and you need a break. But Taehyung isn't even doing anything to try and help himself. So, he’s officially done with Taehyung's brooding and sets to get his ass back in gear.
“Tae?” He knocks on his door lightly. “How are you feeling? You ready to come out yet?”
He hears rustling but no indication that he’s coming to open the door. Taehyung groans.
“No.” Is all he says. Yoongi sighs inaudibly.
“Please?” He tries. “Tata misses you.”
He hears Taehyung huff. “He likes you better anyways.”
Yoongi bites his lip. “I like you too,” he says. “No homo?” (full homo, but Taehyung doesn't need to know that.)
Taehyung breathes out something like a laugh. Yoongi takes that as a sign to keep going.
“Can you at least tell me what's wrong?” He asks gently.
“I don't even know what's wrong. I just- my head feels spinny but not in a dizzy way and I feel nauseous but not like I’m going to throw up.” Taehyung takes a deep breath. “The thought of doing anything has scared me to death lately. I really don't know what to do anymore.”
Yoongi knows the feeling. The weight of the world crashing down on your shoulders; feeling utterly alone, no matter how many people are by your side. Being completely aware of how you breathe or blink or the weight of your tongue in your mouth, but not anchored enough to be aware of your surroundings. Thinking of all the times you’ve annoyed someone or disappointed another— the times you accidentally ruined someone’s day or made them feel shitty.
He says that to Taehyung. He continues with, “there's not much I can do to help you get out of this. I can tell you every motivational quote in the world, but ultimately it’s up to you. You have to help yourself. And the first step to that is getting out of bed. Maybe taking a shower, eating something other than chips and ice cream,” he gently smiles, despite Taehyung not being able to see him. “We don't have to leave the house today, but I want you to take care of yourself at least. Can you come out now?” He asks softly.
“You don’t have to, though,” he adds after a beat of silence. “I’m not trying to force you into anything.”
The door slowly opens, and Taehyung steps out wearing only a pair of sweatpants. His hair is a wreck, all tangled and greasy. When Yoongi makes eye contact with him he notices the tears in his eyes.
“I love you, hyung.” Taehyung says, pulling Yoongi into a hug. Yoongi smiles against his shoulder and rubs his hand up and down his back.
“I love you too, Tae,” he whispers. “Go take a shower. I’ll order us some food.” He says after Taehyung pulls back. Taehyung smiles, taking his advice and walking towards the bathroom.
Yoongi knows he isn't feeling better now, but he hopes Taehyung doesn't have to feel like this again for a very long time.

Valentine’s day. Taehyung may be a romantic at heart, but he firmly believes that Valentine's day is nothing but a capitalist holiday, using the concept of love to lure in dumb teenagers and even dumber adults. He loathes Valentine's day.
He especially hates it when he's trying to get to class and walks past twenty different couples dry humping in public. Because during Valentine's day, that's acceptable. He’s definitely gonna have to avoid his friends today, Namjoon and Hoseok are probably all gross and cuddly. Jungkook is probably trying extra hard to suck Seokjin's dick. Thank God for Jimin and Yoongi.
Though, usually Yoongi would have texted him by now. Would have sent some pessimistic yet weirdly funny text about Valentine's day, or said something like let’s celebrate our anniversary as a couple just to fuck with Taehyung. It’s practically tradition.
His phone vibrates once, the sign of a text message. Fucking creepy how Yoongi always knows. It’s the telepathic connection, Hoseok would've said.
yoognie
happy valentines day. u gonna let me suck ur dick finally, full homo?
That wasn't what he was expecting. Yoongi is getting more unpredictable it seems. Not that he minds, of course, he’s been waiting for this. He quickly types out his reply and pockets his phone.
tae
happy valentines day hyung! i’ll suck urs in return <3

Yoongi’s phone rings. He squeezes his eyes shut and snuggles closer into Taehyung.
It stops for a minute, and Yoongi relaxes. Then it starts ringing again.
“You should answer it.” Taehyung says. Yoongi groans, resting his head on Taehyung's chest.
“ Hyung .” Taehyung presses. Yoongi sighs and rolls over, grabbing his phone and answering it.
Seokjin's loud voice greets him.
“Yoongi! You and Taehyung come over, we’re having dinner!” He yells, or maybe speaks at his normal volume. Seokjin’s pretty fucking loud.
“Hyung, no offense but Taehyung and I just fucked and we aren't in the mood to do anything but sleep. Save us some leftovers though, thanks.”
“Wai-” he hangs up before Seokjin can answer.
He rolls over again, putting his face back into Taehyung’s chest as Taehyung chuckles. Yoongi feels warm, content, and overwhelmingly in love. He slots his legs in between Taehyung's, smiling as he shuts his eyes. Taehyung wraps his arms around him, and kisses the top of his head.
“I love you, hyung,” comes Taehyung's quiet voice. Yoongi hums softly.
“Yeah, me too.”
