Summary
In Part One, beginning at Marlas, Auguste lives and takes Damen hostage. The immediate attraction between them is complicated by the presence of Laurent and Nikandros, and leads to a romp across the high seas to the den of thieves, pirates and whores that is the island of Paradiso. Our heroes, in various disguises from Pets to islanders, experience treachery, kidnapping, and the discovery of a long lost relative. Along the way, Auguste yearns for Damen, Damen reconciles with Nik, Laurent has his first crush and learns he is much more than a bookish boy.
Part Two moves ahead four years. The landscape will start in Paradiso, move on to Marlas, Ios and Arles. Part Three will conclude in the dangerous court of the Vaskian Empress. This is a tale of adventure, intrigue and heroics, with side dishes of pining and sweet slow burns, with Damen and Laurent having one that simmers long before igniting.
