Good ending:
Through the rest of high school Bakugou and Uraraka we're able to at least remain friends. She accepted him fully, never acting out and seemingly trying to build a good relationship with him. Something built on trust and respect rather than fear. Although it was rather awkward for him most the time considering his feelings for her never actually faded. In fact, it might’ve gotten worse over the years. Hie friends and even some of hers constantly teased him whenever he accidentally let it show. Nonetheless he still got her a gift every time white day rolled around.
Now in college, Uraraka and Bakugou did have different internships at different agencies. He would run into her every now and again. Although his favorite was running into her at the gym. She insisted on keeping up with texting and calling him ‘because they were friends’. Kirishima and Kaminari made a point to keep making fun of him until he asked her out. If Bakugou was honest, even he was exhausting himself at this point. Especially since Deku had made it known him and Shield were a thing.
It was so easy to be proud of Ochako too. Seeing her amazing rescues and take downs gave him the same nostalgic joy of watching Allmight. Watching her live rescues was all Katsuki needed to be motivated enough to go to the gym. Occasionally he’d catch a sight of a photoshoot of her and damn could she dress up nice. After being graced enough to be featured in an interview with her, he figured it was probably time to ask or he’d literally explode.
Bakugou paced around his living room floor until the carpet might’ve started running in. Last time they had class together, she left him a few of her notebooks so he could make a copy for her. It hadn’t hit him that he was going to have his crush, alone with him, in his apartment until earlier that day. It prompted a sporadic cleaning spree even though his apartment wasn’t ever really that dirty ever. On top of that, he had some things warming on the stove in case she was hungry. Then on top of that, there was cake in the fridge since he knew she liked sweets. Which of course she did, she was cute like that.
Katsuki’s ghost almost jumped out of his skin when hearing a knock on the door. The blonde took a final look in the mirror next to the couch, fixing his hair and popping a mint before answering the door.
“Hey!” Ochako scratched her head a little embarrassed. “Sorry I’m a little late. Do you..mind if I come in?”
“Do what you want.” He let her in, trying not to stare too hard. That short haircut would never get old in his eyes. Uraraka wasn’t dressed very fancy, just some high waisted leggings and a crop top. Though it was still easy to make out her incredible figure and muscles through all that. Bakugou shook his head and closed the door. Ah, asking would be harder than her thought.
The brunette picked her books off the table and turned on her heels. She flipped through them happy to see new materials to study. “You’re awesome! I just can’t keep up enough you know? They talk faster than Mic ever did!”
“Ugh don’t remind me..” he chuckled while trying to brush away memories of very loud mornings.
Uraraka took a sniff then looked over Bakugou’s shoulder “Are you cooking? What is that? It smells awesome! I forgot you could cook, it’s just still pretty weird.”
“It’s not weird just because you suck at it!” He yelled and she laughed. It was always like this between them. “I’ll make you a plate since you wanna be so damn nosey.”
“For real? Thanks! I wasn’t sure what to do for dinner anyway.” She tossed the books behind her and practically skipped to the kitchen. No wonder she lost track of her things.
Katsuki tried not to be too quick to make their plates so she wouldn’t know something was up. Damnit, she always made him such a fucking mess inside! Although now the pressure was on. The two sat at his couch chowing away. Urarak was clearly struggling with the spices even though this was meant to be mild.
“D-do you always make everything so spicy?” She fanned her mouth.
Bakugou snickered looking up and away “It’s not my fault you can’t handle it. There’s some cake in the fridge if you can’t take it.”
“I can take it!” Although her next spoonful challenged that. After a second, the girl raised an eyebrow “You don’t eat cake.”
“Okay and?”
“You have cake?”
“Any other news, round face?”
“Bakugou, did you make that cake for me? Or..did you set up with whole dinner for us?”
Ah, FUCK she caught him! Bakugou could feel his face slowly light up red as he tried to think of some kind of excuse or retort. Although doing that would defeat the purpose of having her here in the first place. “So what if I did?”
“I don’t know..” she stared down at her plate then finally smiled his away. “It is unusually sweet of you. Thank you.”
“No problem.” It was hard to tell whether his heart was going to stop or speed up.
“I-is there a reason for all this?”
Katsuki leaned back against the couch. Now or never. “I..wanted to ask you out?”
Ochako’s eyes blew wide. “You wanted to what?”
“Ask you out. Not just on a date, but to be my fucking girlfriend.” After a deep breath, the blonde set down his plate on the coffee table. “Even in highschool, right when we broke up I started having actual stupid feelings. It just never fucking stopped. I just want to hold your hand and go out and stupid stuff like that.”
“That’s..kind of hard to believe.” Bakugou felt the shift in the couch as Ochako set her bowl down too. His eyes looked up the second he felt a hand on his. “It’s hard to believe, but I do. I mean, Heart-to-heart talks aren’t exactly King Explosion Murders’ style.”
“It’s Ground Zero!”
“Yeah, yeah.” She giggled.Eventually looking at him shyly, blushing a bit herself. “I’ve been waiting to hear that for so long. I was pretty convinced you’d never say it. I still love you so much, I always have. I didn’t want our relationship to be built on...fear.I figured I’d back off and If you wanted to be with me, It would be your choice.” Ochako’s eyes began to turn slightly red at the corner and a few tears ran down her cheeks “I guess I’m just so happy to hear it!”
Katsuki was quick to have his arms around her and pull her close. This was better than before. They were older, stronger and more equipped to handle heavy emotions. It made him honestly happy that he’d held out for so long now that they were mature. While one arm kept around her waist, the other wove in and out of her hair. The gentle pets seem to comfort her more. Part of Bakugou wanted to cry too. Something about it was stress relieving and joyus.
“I love you.” He might’ve mumbled a bit, but it was still nerve racking to say.
Uraraka clenched onto his shirt tighter. “I thought I’d never hear you say that.”
Bakugou began acting before thinking. It started with a kiss on her forehead. “I love you,” then one on her cheek “I love you, Ochako.” then her other cheek “ I love you so much.”
The brunette in his arms began to giggle and squirm in his arms “Hey, that tickles when you do it so much!”
Another kiss on her nose. “But I love you.” another to her cheek.” I love you, I love you!”
“Katsuki!”
The two nuzzled and cuddled up against each other as if he make up for lost time. For just now, It really did feel like they we're the only ones on earth. This time, their relationship would be made of respect. Made out of genuine admiration for the other; Not something left from the villains. Bakugou made himself all to comfortable being Urarakas pillow for now. He was happy to know there would be more of this in the future. Hell, what did he do to deserve someone so cute and badass?
Ochako took a moment to look him in the eyes. Seeing those lovely amber eyes up close set something in him on fire. She leaned in just close enough to catch his lips for a second.
“I love you too.”
