Work Text:
"Hey, Toshi."
"Yes?"
"Let's get in the water."
The blonde looked down at you, saw the giddy grin on your face.
"My love, it's the middle of winter. And the sun is down."
"C'mon, it'll be fun! Just our feet, I promise!"
You were already walking down to the sand, hopping from one foot to the other in order to take off your shoes and socks. Toshi sighs, smiling at you. He follows, felt the grains in between his toes. He put his shoes next to yours, chucking off his coat as he heard you squeal.
"IT'S COLD!!"
He laughs, walking to the edge, waves barely brushing his feet.
"It's winter!"
You smile, pulling your pant legs up in order to wade in just a little more. Toshi stays right where he is, cold sea breeze blowing his hair back
"Toshinori! Come join me!"
"I'm alright right here."
He closes his eyes, taking a deep breath of salty air. He can hear you move closer, but the grin on his face only gets larger. Water splashes up at him, and you're laughing as he tries to chase you. Laughter blends with the sound of crashing waves.
Two arms wrap around your middle before picking you up and spinning around. The water crests, lower calves cold and wet on the retired hero. You pretend to try and struggle out of his grip, but you two are laughing in the dark. The moon reflects off of a brimy ocean.
"It’s too cold for this." He says, having finally put you back down on your feet. You lean back, feel him put his chin on top of your head.
"Hmm, a little. But it's fine. I like it."
"Oh? Why is that?"
"You're here, obviously." you giggle.
"Haha, I guess I am, aren't I?"
Breaking waves and moonlight, the two of you wander back to your abandoned shoes, cold fingers guiding the other in the dark. Bright blue eyes meet yours, before a gentle kiss to your temple.
