Chapter Text

Jimin had promised himself at the start of the night that this was the last time, it was just getting embarrassing at this point. The bar staff recognised him by now, the guy who always came in alone, who always went to dance first before he sat drinking at the bar. Guys would come sit with him, buy him a drink to show their interest. They told him he was pretty, and he’d never turn down a compliment, but to be honest that one was getting bland by now. They’d flirt shamelessly with him for a while, eventually becoming daring enough to comment on his body and it quickly became apparent what they were after.

And it wasn’t that Jimin didn’t like sex, that wasn’t it at all. He enjoyed it a lot, and he wanted it. But the thing was… he didn’t want a hookup, or to just be someone they called when they got bored, like all the guys who asked for his number while giving him that look wanted. He didn’t have anything against one night stands, or no strings attached. But he’d had his fair share of them over the years, and he’d slowly grown out of it.

Now, he was more interested in trying to find someone who would actually stick around, and so far to no avail. Maybe a bar wasn’t the best place to find a proper date but he’d never trusted dating apps, and the drink helped him relax a little around other people. However it was never enough to get rid of the embarrassment of having to turn down the guys, and be called horrible things in front of the same staff over and over again. He must have looked pathetic. So, he promised himself, this was the last time.

And if he’d went all out for his last time there to show everyone what they were missing out on, he wouldn’t admit it. He’d dug into the back of his closet for the pair of jeans that started hugging his thighs just a little too tightly a few weeks ago, managing to tug them up his legs. A glance in the mirror showed they were indeed tight, the muscles of his legs almost threatening to tear the seams, but his ass looked good , so he’d take his chances on that.

He pulled on a somewhat patterned grey vest, one he knew made his collarbones and shoulders look appealing. Though he knew he couldn’t go out in just that, and in the end finished it off with a light coloured leather jacket, adjusting it in the mirror. He knew the look wouldn’t help with others wanting to sleep with him without anything further, but it was his last time going and like he’d decided, was keen on showing off what they couldn’t have.

———

The place was already full by the time he arrived at his regular club, having turned up at a later time than he usually did. People were crowded around the dance floor, many more spread out at the sides of the room, or at the bar. Jimin went to order himself a drink to take the edge off, as he usually did before joining the mass of people. One of the regular bartenders served him, who he’d learned was called Seokjin, with a wide grin and send him a wink as he went off to dance.

This was probably his favourite part of his night, to be honest. Arriving and leaving alone sucked a lot, but at least at this point he could pretend he wasn’t by himself. He could let himself relax, knowing nobody was watching him, everyone focused on themselves and who they were with. He’d always been a good dancer, considering he worked as an instructor, and easily managed to move along to the music, letting himself loose.

Something felt… different, this time though. It was like he was being watched, he could feel eyes on him. However he didn’t mind, really. He knew he looked good, and he’d willing tried to draw attention to himself.  And even if he wouldn’t admit it, he secretly loved it. So he lost himself further into the music, body moving through the crowd on its own accord.

It felt like hours, though it was probably only nearing an hour, before he left the dance floor. He was warm, his hair sticking to his forehead slightly with sweat, though he didn’t mind. He found a free spot at the bar, sitting down on the stool with a satisfied sigh.

It was only a minute before he caught movement out the corner of his eye, someone sliding on to the stool next to him. He could feel the strangers gaze on him, and it strangely felt somewhat familiar, and he guessed this was the guy who he’d felt watching him dance earlier. It wasn’t uncommon for guys to try chat him up after seeing him dance, which did wonders for his confidence in his moves, so he wasn’t put off.

He turned to the guy, expecting to see either an eager young guy, or an older one looking for someone younger. These were usually the people he ended up talking too, and while he didn’t have a problem with it, he was looking for someone to date and knew neither were looking for that.

So he was slightly surprised to see someone who seemed to be around his age, and who he couldn’t deny was very attractive. The man gave him a wide smile when he met his eyes, one that seemed to be infectious as Jimin couldn’t help but smile back. What he couldn’t help but notice was that the way he was looking at him seemed more interested than anything, not the lewd or dark gazes he was used to getting.

But his thoughts were stopped when he noticed the others eyes flickering over him, a tongue coming out to wet his lower lip. And while Jimin found it immensely attractive, he couldn’t help but roll his eyes. Of course he wasn’t any different, why would he be?

“You come here every weekend, right?” The guy spoke up, his voice much deeper then he’d anticipated. His words had Jimin resisting the urge to roll his eyes again, and he didn’t want to drag out the conversation if he wasn’t going to be able to give him what he was after. “I’m Taehyung, by the way.”

Jimin gave another polite smile, nodding in acknowledgement. “Jimin.” He greeted him back, letting out a small sigh. Taehyung watched him curiously as he leaned one elbow on the bar, turning towards him slightly.

“Look, Taehyung. You’re very good looking, but I’m not what you’re looking for, I don’t do hookups. Let’s get this over with, okay? I know how this goes. First you buy me a drink, then you tell me how pretty I look, and then, at the end of the night, you ask for my number.”

He watched as Taehyung’s face morphed into one of surprise, obviously taken back by his words. Jimin expected him to maybe scoff, possibly insult him for being stuck up before walking off. But it was his turn to be surprised when a small smirk tugged up on the corner of the others lips, and he chuckled quietly.

“Ah, you’re cute, Jimin.” He said, and Jimin felt his cheeks heat up ever so slightly for some reason. “But I think… you’ve got the wrong idea. Sorry, that probably didn’t give the best impression. I’m not after a hookup, or anything like that.”

Jimin paused, eyeing him suspiciously. He wasn’t just saying that because he’d made it clear he wasn’t interested, right? But his words seemed genuine, and he found himself wondering if he’d finally found someone willing to have something more. Even a single date would do at this point, to be honest. Before he could ask if he was serious, the other continued.

“But, I’m not going to hide anything from you.” He said, and Jimin felt someone slide up close on the stool on the other side of him, close but not close enough to make him uncomfortable. At the same time he watched as another guy, also unbelievably cute, moved to stand beside Taehyung, eyeing Jimin curiously. He paused, unsure what was going on and glanced to him in hopes of an explanation.

Taehyung cleared his throat, his confidence faltering for a second. “The plan was that I was going to buy you that drink.” He said, before gesturing to the guy on Jimin’s opposite side, sitting on the stool. He turned a little to be met with what seemed to be a slightly older guy, who was still wildly attractive, and had an intense gaze that had his heart pausing in his chest.

“My boyfriend, Yoongi, was happy enough to be the one calling you pretty.” Jimin froze at his words, growing more confused by the second as Taehyung pointed to the guy standing beside him. “And my other boyfriend, Jungkook, was going to be the one to ask for your number if… if this was okay, and you enjoyed yourself.”

Jimin didn’t know what to think, his mind going in different directions. Why were three more than attractive guys interested in him? And boyfriends? What did they want, a foursome or something? To see what it was like adding someone else in, maybe so one of them wasn’t left out? He’d just told Taehyung he wasn’t interested in a hookup, did he think he wasn’t serious?

Jungkook, as he remembered, seemed to sense his apprehension and quickly spoke up. “It’s not, like… a sex thing, by the way. Maybe he shouldn’t have used ‘enjoyed yourself.’” He said, turning to gave a half-hearted glare to Taehyung, who smiled sheepishly. “We’ve been coming here for a few weeks, and we’ve noticed you. Not in a creepy way, just- We’re all really interested in you. In more than just sleeping with you.”

Jimin was still confused, the loud music and flashing lights not helping, but his words assured him slightly. They all seemed to be watching him for a reaction, and Jimin was curious, and they were all beautiful, so who was he to say no? He gave a small nod, watching a small smile appear on Taehyung’s face before he spoke up.

“Look, I don’t think this is the best place to talk about this.” He said, Jungkook nodding in agreement. “What do you say about me buying you that drink somewhere more quiet? And maybe something to eat?” Taehyung asked, tilting his head.

“Yeah.” Jimin agreed, clearing his throat when his voice came out weak. “Yeah, that sounds good.” He said, nodding. Maybe he wasn’t in the best state for going out to eat, but any place open this late must have even used to club-goers coming in. He moved to make sure he had everything in his pockets, not missing the way Jungkook excitedly nudged Taehyung in the side, who smiled widely back at him.

Taehyung slipped off the stool he was sat up, easily pressing into Jungkook’s side when the, what he presumed was, younger slid his arm around his waist. Jimin awkwardly scrambled to get to his feet too, and quickly realised the two were much taller than him. Jungkook nodded towards the exit, before he slowly started to move towards it with the other.

Jimin faltered for a few seconds, biting his lip. A voice spoke up beside him, unfairly deep, the raspiness of it causing his breath to hitch slightly. “Coming, gorgeous?” Yoongi asked, offering his arm out to him. He could once again feel the heat rise to his cheeks at his words, nodding as he took hold of the arm held out in his direction. He couldn’t help but note with relief that at least he was around his height, and not hovering above him too.

Yoongi led them towards the exit, which the other two had already gone out of. He gave a sigh at the fresh air when they stepped outside, subconsciously holding Yoongi’s arm tighter for the warmth. Jungkook said something to Taehyung, and then they were walking down the street. They didn’t go far apparently, stopping at the small fast food place down the street. After piling inside they made their way to the back, finding a booth. Considering he was still holding on to Yoongi, he followed him into it, while the other two sat opposite them.

He watched nervously as Taehyung and Jungkook squabbled over the menu for a few minutes, but couldn’t help but smile softly at how cute they were. His attention was once again caught by Yoongi placing a hand on his knee, causing him to glance over. “What do you want?” He asked, his voice much softer, gesturing to the menu he’d put between them.

Once they’d all decided on what they wanted, Yoongi and Taehyung disappeared to go order it for them. He was left alone with Jungkook across from him, and he picked nervously at his sweater sleeve. He eventually looked up to find Jungkook already watching him, causing him to quickly look away again.

He heard Jungkook laugh, his chest feeling oddly warm at the sound, wondering if it was the embarrassment. “You don’t have to be so shy, you know? As cute as it is, I don’t bite.” He spoke up, and Jimin hesitantly looked back to him, to find the other watching him with a soft smile.

“Sorry...” Jimin apologised, clearing his throat a little. “You- Um, are you really… all interested in me ?” He asked sceptically, watching Jungkook’s face morph into one of confusion.

“What do you mean?” He asked, tilting his head. “Why wouldn’t we be? I think it’s probably a conversation for us all to have but… we first noticed you weeks ago, but neither of us and the courage to actually talk to you.” He admitted with a shy laugh. “But you’ve had our complete attention since then, don’t worry.”

Jimin chewed his lower lip, trying to hold back a smile. They obviously found him attractive, but they found him interesting too. He’d been trying to find someone actually interested in him for months, and now he’d found three? And they all seemed so sweet and nice and they were all boyfriends, apparently.

The conversation moved on to Jungkook asking about Jimin’s dancing, wondering if he did it professionally. They got stuck into a conversation about how both of them enjoyed dancing, not even realising how much time had passed. It wasn’t until he felt a hand on his knee, and saw Taehyung slip back into the booth beside Jungkook.

A glance to the side confirmed it was Yoongi’s hand on his knee again, but it wasn’t like it would be anyone else. He tried to ignore how nice it felt having it rest there, how natural. “The food will be ready soon, no starving until then.” He joked lightly, and Jimin felt himself relax a little.

“So.. How old are all of you?” He questioned hesitantly, curious about how old they all were. They didn’t seem all that much older or younger than him, but he didn’t know for sure.

“I’m twenty one.” Jungkook supplied, giving him a smile. “Taehyung is twenty three, and the old man over there is twenty six.” He added, earning a quiet scoff from Yoongi beside him and he couldn’t help but laugh softly to himself.

“I’m twenty three too.” Jimin told them, earning another wide grin from Taehyung. He paused after that, biting his lower lip as he contemplated his next words. “Can I ask now- Uh, you said you’re all… boyfriends?” He asked hesitantly, not wanting to offend them.

Yoongi was apparently the one to take the lead on this one, nodding beside him. “Yeah, we’re all dating each other. Equally, nobody feels… left out or anything.” He started, Taehyung and Jungkook both nodding in agreement. “It’s just like any other relationship, just with an extra person, I guess.”

Jimin nodded in understanding, humming quietly at his explanation. Taehyung spoke up once again, looking briefly to Yoongi across the table. “We met during Yoongi’s last year of college, and it was only my first year. We started dating pretty quickly actually, and that went on until Yoongi left me alone in college the next year.”

Yoongi laughed at this, shaking his head a little. “You’re so dramatic. What was I meant to do? I finished my course, it’s not like I could have stayed.”

Taehyung shushed him for interrupting, earning a fond smile from Jungkook who observed them, before the speaking continued. “Anyway. I met Jungkook in my second year, when it was his first.”

“He has a thing for college boys, apparently.” Jungkook stage whispered, and smiled innocent when Taehyung sent him a fake glare for being interrupted once again.

“But yeah, we became friends really quickly. I remember when I first started liking him… I felt so guilty, because I was still with Yoongi obviously. Even though I never actually acted on my feelings, I still felt horrible. When Jungkook told me he liked me too, I- uh… I distanced myself from him, but that only made things worse, to be honest.”

Taehyung paused for a second, taking in a deep breath. Jimin didn’t miss how Jungkook’s hand seemed to slip under the table, lacing with Taehyung’s as he continued. “I eventually broke, and told Yoongi everything, with a little more tears than necessary. Surprisingly to me, he didn’t break up with me on the spot. He actually listened and… and was the one who suggested this, really. I explained to Jungkook and he wasn’t weirded out, and I introduced him to Yoongi. We hung out a lot together and eventually… well, boyfriends.”

They all seem to nod in unison as Taehyung finished speaking, who looked up to Jimin with a small smile. He couldn’t help but return it, feeling oddly warmed by the story. Though it made him wonder what they wanted with him. Did they want him to be… their boyfriend too? But he barely know them yet that didn’t stop his heart skipping a beat in his chest.

He didn’t have to chance to question them as the waitress appeared with their food, placing it down in front of them. Jimin felt mouth water at the sight of the hot chocolate he’d asked for, having known it was amazing from here since he’d been here once before. They thanked the waitress, and within minutes they were digging in to the disgustingly greasy yet delicious fast food. Jimin’s mind was still buzzing with questions, and he swore Jungkook was a mind reader when he spoke up again.

“We obviously barely know each other.” He started, after a few bites of his food. “But like we said, we’re all really interested in you. And I think that once we all spend time together, get to know each other, a few more dates, then… we’d be happy to ask you to be our boyfriend, too. All of us.”

Jimin could feel his cheeks heating up at the idea. They were all so kind, and who knew that after so long of waiting for a boyfriend he’d maybe get three? Instead of answering him directly, he decided to tease a little, feeling much more comfortable around them already. “Oh, so you assume there’s going to be more dates already?” He questioned with a raised eyebrow, watching as Jungkook smiled in amusement and a smirk tugged at the corner of Taehyung’s lips.

However, maybe Yoongi didn’t see his teasing expression, because he shifted around beside him to turn and look at him. Jimin looked over in confusion to be met with wide eyes, a large contrast to the intimidating gaze he’d held earlier. “We, uh- We really hope so, yeah. If there’s anything we can do to make this date better, just say. I mean- If you… want to call this a date, of course. It doesn’t have to be, whatever you’re comfortable with.” He rambled.

They all sat in silence for a few seconds before the two across the table burst into laughter, shaking their heads. Yoongi looked at them, frowning slightly in confusion. Jimin’s lips curved up in a fond smile, leaning forward to press a gentle kiss to the elders cheek, making in look back at him in surprise. “I was kidding, Yoongi. Of course I’d love to go out more. And don’t worry, I’m definitely considering this a date.” He grinned, the others still laughing.

Yoongi scowled at them, his more intimidating face back on, though Jimin was close enough to see the pink tint to his neck and cheeks. It was cute. They all eventually began eating again, enjoying their food and the light conversation at that along with it. And if it was the best night that Jimin had ever had, he kept it to himself for now.

He instead just basked in it. How Yoongi’s hand felt in his own as the three walked him home. How Jungkook’s shoulder brushed against his gently every few seconds. How his chest warmed when they stopped at his door, and they all took turns putting their numbers into his phone. How Jungkook smiled happily at him, wishing him a good night, and told him he hoped to see him again. How warm and right it felt when Taehyung hugged him tightly and said he’d see him soon. How Yoongi moved forward to press a soft kiss to his cheek, with a quiet ‘don’t be a stranger, gorgeous’ that left his cheeks burning. How his chest felt like it’s going to burst when he fell into bed at the end of the night, sending them all a goodnight message, receiving one back from each of them before his eyes fell shut, smile still playing on his lips.
