Chapter Text
They had finally made it thought the first year of high school and summer was right there for them to enjoy. Six weeks of recovering from all the bruises they had got during training at school. That was for anyone but Shoto. He was going to spend the whole summer holiday, at home, being trained by his father. Hero’s did not get free time. At least, the committed ones. Which is what his father told him. So, he had to keep on trying to stay the best of the best. Especially after failing to get his license.
Izuku walked up to him. He was the only one who knew about his home life. He could see the worry in his green eyes. “Are you going to be okay during the summer?” He asked. “You have my number, you can text me and come over, stay the night and watch Disney movies all day.” He suggested.
“I know. Thanks. I will see if my old man will let me. Enjoy your summer. He gave Izuku a hug and left to get into the car which came to pick him up and drive home. After the truth or dare they broke the barrier and would hug each other at least once a day. It was hard for Shoto not to break down in his loving strong arms. Whenever he was in them, he felt safe and sound. Nothing in the world could hurt him when he was with Izuku. Izuku was his hero.
He also knew that he had a crush on his friend. He hated that fact. There was a change for them to be together Ochako had told him that Izuku was gay. It made him almost jump with happiness. It meant to him there was a possibility for them to get together. Izuku deserved someone way better though. Someone with a better home life and confidence in themselves. Less socially awkward with Izuku being a social butterfly.
He arrived at home and texted Izuku he got home save even though he never asked for that. He put his phone away. Putting his phone into his pocket. It was time for 6 weeks of hell.
On the fourth week and a lot of bruises later, Endeavour revealed that he had to go to America for a hero convention. He was going the day after tomorrow and would be gone for a week. Being in a good relationship with Fuyumi he had spoken to her about wanting to go visit Izuku. His friend. I liked more than a friend. Yes.
“I want you to keep on training when I am gone. I need for you to send me prove you have been training every day.” He was looking angry at his son. “Sure. I will.” There were so many ways to work around that.
After dinner it was time for them to train again. Shoto got destroyed from joy. He was going to Izuku this vacation. He was actually going to see his friend without any classmates being around. He was going to be with Izuku. And Izuku only. And his mother of course. He only saw his mother briefly when they were little. The stories he heard of her were good though.
His father beat him up over being distracted. Having to stop the training early from Shoto not being able to get up anymore. He was throwing up. He had been hit so hard to the gut he threw up everything he at dinner earlier.
That evening Shoto text Izuku about his father leaving to America for a week. They made arrangements for over three days. Shoto was going over there, stay a night and go back home. That way he could film him training both days and his father would not suspect anything.
(time skip to Shoto going over to Izuku.)
Shoto took a shower after training. No way he was going to Izuku when he had been sweating so much during training. He had been training his right side a lot more. Knowing he needed it to do his job as a hero better. It made him stonger. He was forever thankful for Izuku showing him that it was his quirk.
Thinking about Izuku made him feel all happy feelings inside. Leaning against the could tiles in the bathroom. His mind carrying him all kind of places with Izuku being there with him. He was taking so long that his sister was knocking on the door. “Are you okay? It’s getting late. If you don’t hurry up, I can’t bring you before I am going to my job.” His sister called. His sister worked in a grocery shop in the weekends and holidays. During the week she was a kindergarten teacher.
“Coming. Give me a little more.” He answered. “fifteen minutes, then I am gone.” She replied. “Sounds good.” Shoto turned down the water. Dried himself off and got dressed. He made sure his hair looked good and his clothing looked fine. All straight. Great. “I’m ready to go.” He said and had his siter drop him off at Izuku’s place.
Shoto anxiously rang the bell. Not knowing who was going to open the door. He also had nothing to give them with him. Should he have gotten something from the store? Was it rude to show up without flowers or chocolate? He was very unsure. But before he could leave Inko opened the door. To be honest, she looked like a female version of Izuku. She had the same green hair, same big green eyes and the same smile. She also was not that tall. No doubt that was his mom.
“Hello Miss Midoriya, I’m Todoroki... I am here to eh, stay the night... Has Izuku told u?” He asked awkwardly. Was he being rude while being so direct or was this being acceptable? She did not give him enough time to keep thinking negatively. “Of course, honey come in.” She said and stepped aside. “Izuku, Todoroki is here!” She called out when Shoto got inside the house.
He never been in a flat before. This was his first time stepping inside one. It was also the first time coming over at Izuku’s place. It’s been so long. He never thought he would miss Izuku so much. It’s only been a few weeks but it felt like a life time.
