Resolving to calm the hell down, because this is just Ray—just his friend, whom he’s known more than half his life—Fenrir opens the book to the place where a leather bookmark holds the page last left off, takes a deep, steady breath, and finds the beginning of the paragraph.
In which Fenrir pries Ray from his office for a much-needed and well-deserved break.
