Summary
Tommy had always been a sucker for control. Not purely for the sake of dominance and authority but because he learned the hard way that this is how you protect those you love. But sometimes he felt his gypsy roots pulling at him: freedom, letting go, trusting your gut, listening to the voices in the wind… And in these singular instants where Tommy allowed insecurity and doubt into his life he felt more whole than ever.
In the midst of his life as a single father, as a fresh member of parliament and still as the head of the Shelby family, Thomas comes face-to-face with a gypsy woman from his childhood. Connected by heritage but allied by their shared belief in socialism, they fight for the rights of the working class. Slowly but surely they both recover from the horror of the Great War. But whoever said that ‘it’s darkest before dawn’ probably didn’t know the Peaky Blinders…
