No, the worst of it had come a few days into week seven. A nice woman with a sweet voice had come in to explain to him exactly what the extent of his injuries were. Turned out humans just weren't meant to hold a demonic force from another dimension. ... The woman used words like "cortisol" and "parasympathetic nervous system" and "pervasive joint weakness", and Billy stared at her blankly. When he finally understood what she was getting at, he squeezed the rails of his bed until his knuckles turned white.
