Work Text:
No one would believe it if they saw the number eight hero, Uravity, dragging her feet across the narrow, creaking hallway of the building she lives in. A defeated and tired expression is painted on her usually cheery face; the smile that is loved by millions of citizens is nowhere to be found.
She heaves an exasperated sigh as her eyes strain on the glaring screen of her phone, the lack of notifications both on her Messages and her Call Log irritating her.
She shoves the phone back into her pocket. Fine! she screams in her head, if you don’t plan on texting me then I won’t text you too, asshole Katsuki… fucking Bakugou…
“Aaah! I miss you, you dumb idiot!” Ochako cries in frustration as she turns a corner, her eyes shut to rid off the tiredness from lack of sleep.
One week of being Bakugou-less has been nothing but a week of worry, longing, and emptiness for Ochako because her goddamn insensitive, stiff piece-of-a-boyfriend just up one day and left for a week-long mission. The only text he sent her were the two curt words “Already arrived.” And nothing more, even though she keeps on sending him messages.
Last night was the sixth night that he was gone, and she stopped sending him good night wishes. “Let’s see how you handle my cold-shoulders,” she thought, hoping that he will miss her messages and send her one today. It was the 24th of December -their seventh day of not seeing each their anniversary.
“Idiot!”
The brunette rescue hero pouts and reaches for her heart-shaped locket, brushing over the letter “K” pendant that comes with it. She clicks the locket to reveal a picture of Bakugou smiling. As if it is already ingrained in her system, she feels giddy and her heart warms while she fondly stares at his smiling face. The memory of how she got that photo floods her mind and pulls her in, remembering that special day three years ago.

Ground Zero and Uravity have been dating for a fresh three months before both their agencies’ PR teams decided it was best to boost their popularity by announcing their relationship to the world. Fans of both heroes have been speculating and anticipating their relationship, and merchandise under the line “GroundVity” - a portmanteau of their hero names - have been skyrocketing in demand.
That was why- as planned by the PR teams- they were going to sit down in an interview and break the news… today. But Bakugou did not like to bend to the norm. He wasn't the type to do normal, and he wasn't the type to follow orders from other people.
Thus, two hours before their schedule with a famous talk show, he drove by her place, put her on a rather unique set of clothes, and dragged her out to some place which turned out to be an amusement park.
Ochako opened her phone to check her messages, and almost dropped it when she saw that she had received hundreds of messages from both family and friends. Her thumb hovered over Deku's name on her screen before tapping it. Her eyes widened as she skimmed it.
Deku: Ochako!!! Congratulations!!! God I'm so happy for you and Kacchan!
Attached was a picture of Ground Zero kissing Uravity’s cheeks, face flushed with different shades of red, with the caption “My fucking baby girl #Kacchako #GroundVity”.
"Oh god! Bakugou!" Her eyes widened, and when a smirk appeared on his face she knew he'd played them. The little fucker planned all these, and she should have known that something was off when Bakugou kept silent during their meeting with the PR.
"What?" he sounded disinterested but his eyes glistened with what looked like confidence touched up with mischief. "Did you really believe that I would just sit down and let those fuckers decide how I would let the world know about my fucking cute girlfriend? Hah, they wish!."
Ochako almost swooned at the declaration, looking at how confident he was as he stared fondly at her. But for someone who talked big about wanting to boast to the world about their relationship, they sure looked suspicious, now that they were out for what seemed to be their first date - in an amusement park.
She grumbled as she looked down at what she was forced to wear: A baggy white shirt with a skull design at the middle which fell just right above her knees; a pair of orange tights to hide her legs; and a black pair of flats. Ochako twirled the dry, synthetic black wig that reached the bottom of her chest.
Bakugou on the other hand, stood before her in all his pride and glory, hands tucked in on his hideous pink pants partnered with a green button-up. His hair was sprayed with temporary black dye.
“Come on, cheeks,” he tugged at her hands and pulled her into the amusement park, an amused grin plastered on his face. “We will enjoy the fuck out of this date,” he declared as he excitedly led her amidst the crowd.
The playful but peaceful aura Bakugou emanated tickled Uraraka's heart. She wanted to capture that smile he rarely ever wore- in fact, she had never ever seen before. She seared the image in her head as she readied her phone and positioned it over his shoulder.
“I love you, Katsuki!” she declared loudly- loud enough for the people near them to stop and realize that two of the best heroes in Japan were there with them, hands tangled with each other.
The bystanders who stopped on their tracks, eyes wide in a mix of surprise and disbelief, also had their mouths hanging from the fact that the ranked eight hero just admitted to the world her love for the number two hero.
Bakugou stopped on his track, the declaration rang in his ears before he had completely comprehended what he just heard. He whipped his head over his shoulder sporting the softest, most carefree smile she had ever seen on him.
A flash blinded him for a second, surprising him, before his smile turned into a sinister laugh as he grabbed her and hoisted her over his shoulder, her squeals and laughter reverberating in his ears. The laughter filled his heart to the brim and if he could only give her the world right then and there, he would have.
“I love you too, Ochako.”
Or so she heard. She was not sure anymore as the voices around her were drowned out by the laughter that spilled from her.

Ochako sighs of the memory, a smile now replacing the frown that had dominated her face all day - the thought of their first months together starts to fill the void that grew from the one week absence of Bakugou.
She closes the locket and rummages through her bag for her house keys, and as she pivots her body to face the door, she sees a bag hanging on the knob.
Ochako studies the bag carefully; eyes squinting, closing in on the suspicious looking black bag. She remembers how there seemed to be a number of instances wherein pro-heroes receive unidentified parcels only to find themselves in some kind of trouble. Sometimes ,an object would fly out and tie them down; sometimes it was a quirk-cancelling object that, once touched, would render the hero quirkless for a couple of minutes, and other unspeakable, cowardly things.
Ochako positions herself in a battle-stance, feet apart, arms ready to land a punch onto anything that might jump from the bag. She uses her feet to nudge the bag, but after a minute nothing out of the ordinary happened.
She thinks hard before she relaxes, cautiously reaching for the bag. Ochako takes a peek inside, only to see what seems to be a fabric of some sort. What catches her eye though, is the orange-colored piece of paper on top of the pastel pink content. She takes it in between her fingers and takes it out from the bag.
The brunette skims through the note and unknowingly read it to herself loudly.
“Wear this dress and show the fucking world how fucking gorgeous you are?” Ochako chuckles halfway through reading as she subconsciously had done her best impersonation of her boyfriend’s gravelly voice.
When she finally stops laughing, Ochako takes out the fabric and holds it before her with her two hands, and she gasps in awe. She is face-to-face with an off-pink colored dress, adorned with small moons, planets, and stars in gold all over.
Another note slips out from the dress when she pulls it closer to her, and the paper falls silently on the floor without a sound. Ochako crouches to the ground and as she reaches for the note she notices a box sitting prettily in front of her apartment door.
She tilts her head, eyes twinkling with surprise. When she flips the note that fell from the dress, she catches, in passing, the poorly drawn heart at the back of the paper. Adorable.
“Wear these skyscrapers because you deserve to have people look up to you, 'cuz you’re a motherfucking star.” Ochako falls on her butt, giggling so much she lost her balance. She wipes the single droplet of tear that escapes her eyes, “What a dork, Katsu!” She laughs.
Ochako gently takes the lid off the box and her eyes widened even more when her gaze lands on an all-too-familiar orange paper resting on a pair of pink peep toes. She snickered as she reads it, “Wear all of these with your most beautiful smile and take my breath away tonight, moon face. Pick you up at seven.”
She swoons, when the heck did he learn how to be romantic!
Ochako picks up the shoes, holds it together with the dress close to her pounding heart, keeping them close in an attempt to quench her heart that’s missing its other half.
“It’s okay, you’ll see him later,” she whispers to herself as she stands from crouching on the hall. She inserts the key to the knob and let herself in, bouncing on her toes as she makes her way to her bathroom, humming a tune that only her heart could understand.

Beautiful, Bakugou breathes when he sees Ochako stepping out of her apartment complex, the shabby buildings around them paled in comparison. She stands on top of the stairs in the dress he specifically designed for her and practically begged his parents to agree to be made by their company’s seamstress in a week.
Fuck, fuck, beautiful, fuck, he’s literally screaming inside his head. His voice catches on his throat as he marvels on how the off-pink, long-sleeved, slip dress hugs her hips before falling perfectly around her legs. The use of tulle and the illusion neckline have created a contrast of innocent and teasing. Her to-die-for legs are accentuated by the four-inches peep toe heels that are adorned with bow-tie ribbons at the front.
Bakugou has never really been into his parents’ crafts. However, when the shitty haired red hero suggested that he gift her with a dress he specially designed for her, he had an eureka moment.
Of course, that’s the most perfect gift for her on their third year anniversary. Ochako due to her nature of being overly appreciative of anything she would surely love the dress which he would have made especially for her.
Thus, he immediately started working on it and even told a white lie to her, “I would be out of town for a week because of a mission.”
“So?”
Bakugou snaps out of his train of thoughts and meet her eyes. She had already made her way down the stairs and was standing before him. His eyes roam all over her and fall on the small moons and stars on the top of her head that were used to tuck her brown hair behind her ears.
The rescue hero smiles shyly as she notices how the man in front of her keeps his gaze fixated on her. She links her arms with his, freezing him on the spot for a quick second before he mentally punches himself.
“Let’s go?” he murmurs as he starts walking in small steps, taking into consideration how his date seems to be uncomfortable walking in high heels.
Bakugou offers Ochako the passenger seat of his orange Aventador S. He notices how she keeps on giving him glances as if she wants to say something to him.
“What?”
“How do I look?”
She’s smiling brightly at him, and if her smile did not instantly light up the dark interior of his auto he has no idea what else did. As soon as he turns his attention to her smiling, expectant face he can swear that there is a sudden surge of light.
The blond hero musters everything he can just to turn his attention away from her because if he doesn't he’s sure he will crash his lips with hers, right then and there. But they have somewhere to go to, a special place where he wants to make her feel the most fucking perfect special girl in the world.
Bakugou starts the engine, his eyes shut as he takes one deep, long breath. And in a moment Ochako’s holding her breath because he’s leaning towards her.
“Beautiful,” Bakugou whispers, fresh mint tickling her nose.
That’s all it takes her to launch her head forward for a kiss but he pulls back before she can close the gap. Ochako hears a tick and realizes that he’s put on her seatbelt for her, a mischievous smirk appears on his face as he flops back into the driver’s seat, head falling on the headrest as he gives her his most hearty chuckle.
She pouts at him, slumping into the passenger seat with her arms folded on her tummy. Bakugou stops laughing when he glances at her sulky face. So adorably cute. He reaches for the strands of hair that escaped her moon clip and fixes it for her.
Bakugou leans down, red eyes meet her brown ones, and with a shaky voice he utters the words that made her heart swoon and tumble in happiness before he kisses her sulky lips.
“Truly beautiful.”

Bakugou let it slip to Ochako that they are going for a simple dinner on the outskirts of town. What he did not tell her is that the dinner, their Christmas dinner, is going to be anything but simple.
The explosive hero had reserved the two of them a table on the most popular five-star restaurant in the country. The restaurant was once a noble’s house during the Meiji era. It was an hour drive away from the city center, on top of a hill overlooking the metropolis, making it one of the most expensive yet most romantic venues in the city.
Ochako can’t help but squeal as they are being escorted by a waiter through the patio towards the ethereal gazebo built near the edge of the cliff. The covered pathway is adorned with fairy lights twirling around the pillars, and the pergola is trained with flowers in red and violet giving the surroundings a sweet fragrance.
She let out a small gasp when she saw how the gazebo was surrounded by a curtain of fairy lights, bulbs in the shape of stars. If the exterior looked surreal, the interior was even more breathtaking with how the table has been beautifully set, candle holders in the shape of full moon illuminating the black and gold wares on top. The floor is covered with Uravity’s color, pink rose petals and black-painted ones, and Ground Zero’s orange.
The brunette turns and her chocolate eyes widened even more when Bakugou pulls a bouquet of red roses out of nowhere and hands it to her, to which she happily hugs to her chest.
“Katsu…” she covers her mouth with the bouquet. Her voice trembles in surprise, “It’s beautiful,” she smiles, eyes shining brightly just like the lights surrounding them.
“Only for you,” Bakugou’s lips quirks into a soft smile. His eyes focused on the lovely woman in front of him - following her every little shy movement and wondering how he is still falling more deeply in love with her.
“Thank you,” she whispers, reaching out for his hands. “I love you.”
Ah, I know how.

“And - and -” Ochako’s laughter comes into a full stop with her hands clutching the side of her waist. She recalls the story about how Kaminari and Jirou ended up dating and she could not stop cackling as she reminded him how the entire thing unfolded.
Bakugou squeezes her hand as he stares at her profile, nodding every now and then whenever she looks at him, looking for a reaction.
Their Christmas dinner ended with them walking by the side of the villa, into the garden, and out to the parking area. Ochako felt her stomach was about to burst from eating too much.
Well, why wouldn’t she stuff herself with the dishes when they were all prepared by her boyfriend himself? Bakugou had prepared a pasta dish which the brunette could not remember the name of... Lobster… something… together with a Merlon Filet Mignon and topped with a green-tea mochi filled with vanilla ice cream inside.
Ochako snaps out of her reverie as the orange Lamborghini of Bakugou comes into view. She slows down her walking before stopping altogether and causing the blond to pause on his tracks, two steps ahead of her. He looks at her over his shoulder, tilting his head in confusion over her sudden decision to come to a halt.
“Any problem, moon face?” He raises his brows, adjusting his hold of her hand to lace their fingers together. Bakugou turns towards her and steps one foot closer to her.
Ochako answers in a quiet voice that even the dead of the night is not able to amplify.
“What did you say?” He hovers over her, her face that glows under the moonlight is shadowed by his towering height.
Ochako gnaws at the inside of her lips, her eyes search for his expression, stubbornly and shyly keeping her head down. “I don’t wanna go home…” her voice falters mid-sentence.
A glint of mischief crosses Bakugou’s orbs for a millisecond that Ochako isn’t able to catch. His lips curl into his cheeky, teasing smile, the kind which clearly shows he heard her but still, he wants to hear her say it, shyly, again.
“What? Can you repeat that moon face?”
“I said!” Ochako stomps her feet on the ground in exasperation, whipping her head to look at him. “Katsu!” She pouts when she sees his teasing smile and starts hitting his chest while also making sure to not activate her quirk on him.
Bakugou laughs at her actions, finding her blushing face cute as hell, he grabs her arm making her stop. Her eyes meet his, accepting the challenge that clearly manifests from the way he stares down at her. He steps into her space, her head falling back even more in the process.
“Come on, my angel, repeat what you just said?” He leans down closer to her face, lips perfectly aligned on top of hers, he reaches for her nape to ease her from the uncomfortable position he has put her in.
“I don’t want to go home yet!” The brunette flips her head away from his intense gaze, feeling the heat wash all over her face down to her spine. Three years of being together is not enough to train her to play his games, she always loses in the end whenever she ups the courage to face him.
Bakugou nods in contemplation, “Well, what do you want to do then?”
“Not a question of what, but where,” she murmurs.
“Hmm?”
Ochako sighs in frustration, eyes are on fire as she returns her attention at him. “I don’t want to go back to my place. I want to stay with you throughout the night,” she says all too quickly that he almost does not catch the words.
If not for how her usually pink cheeks turning too red, he won’t be able to put two-and-two together. fuck it if he is going to lie that his heart did not leap out of his chest when she puffs her cheeks at him.
“Are you sure?” he breathes, lips closing in on her pink ones.
When she nods her pretty round little face at him while she sports a sheepish smile, biting on her lower lip, he says fuck it to himself and sweeps her off her feet with one arm and clashes their lips together. He pulled her against him, her body fitting perfectly in his arms, he pushes her head closer to him while he leans down even more to deepen the kiss.
When he lets go for a second, to catch some air, Ochako wraps her arms around his neck. “Katsu...ki…” she purrs, eyes hooded in ecstasy.
Bakugou gulps as his eyes land on her swollen lips. “Let’s fucking go,” he growls into the night as he leads her to his next big surprise.
xxx
“Oh my god!” Ochako squeals as soon as Bakugou opens the door for her.
In their hotel room are white and red rose petals scattered on the maroon-color-carpeted floor with a few tealight candles illuminating the room.
“Is this supposed to be your so-called last minute booking?” She whips her head to look over her shoulder to see Bakugou standing behind her, arms crossed over his chest, a smug smile on his face.
The rescue hero pivots on her heels to face the combat hero and repeatedly hits his chest with her fists. “What would you have done if I didn’t man up and told you I wanted to spend Christmas eve together!”
“I would have abducted your pretty little ass,” the tall blond raises his eyebrows at her, his voice brimming with confidence. He wraps his arms over her shoulder, turns her towards the room and guides her inside.
Ochako’s mouth gapes. “This confident asshole,” she pinches the skin over his knuckles as she lets him walk her towards the coffee table where a candle pot in a shape of heart sits next to a cake.
“Strawberry shortcake, really?” She looks up at him as she takes her seat to the chair he holds out for her. “Didn’t peg you to be this romantic,” she teases, a finger reaching for one strawberry on top.
“Hah, bet you’re all giddy inside now,” he challenges her with a smile as his eyes traces over how she licks the cream off the fruit and sucks on the pointed end before taking the whole piece into her mouth.
As Ochako slowly chews on the fruit, she props her chin on her joined hands. Her eyes focus on the man in front of her, a bewildered expression written on his face.
“Are you seducing me?” he inquired in a low voice, reaching for a strawberry of his own.
Ochako tilted her head to the side, faux innocence twinkled on her orbs. “I have no idea what you’re saying,” she murmurs as she ran her finger on the side of the cake, icing sticking to her digits. She licks her index, swirls her tongue around it, before she pops it inside her lips.
“Are you drunk with just one bottle of wine?” Bakugou hisses as he watches the girl’s cheeks hollowed as she keeps on sucking on her icing-coated-finger.
The brunette takes her finger out with a pop all the while challenging his stare with he own. “Are you?” she smiles innocently at him.
“No,” he drags one long, shallow breath out of his lungs. Breathing is starting to become harder for him to do especially when the woman in front of him, so insanely beautiful, is licking and biting her lower lips, as if inviting his own to crash against hers.
Bakugou shut his eyes in a desperate attempt to keep his heart in place when Ochako’s lips curl into that seductive smile of hers. When he opens his eyes, after a minute of forced-calming his heartbeat, a groan escapes his throat because Ochako is, yet again, sensually eating another piece of strawberry.
Chocolate eyes twinkle in excitement, honey-coated hums bubbles out of her lips as she stands up and walks over his side of the table. Her right hand caresses the red linen that covers the table, travelling up his own arms as she moves behind him. Bakugou’s breathing hitched when she wraps her left arm around his neck and she settles her face on his shoulders.
“Fuck,” he curses as she nibbles the tip of his ear.
“Princess...” Bakugou warns in a dangerous low growl, his hands curl into fists on top of the table as he tries to hold onto the last straw of his sanity.
Ochako strokes her hand up and down then back up his arm, leaving traces of small bumps on its wake. She locks him into a tight embrace. “Thank you,” she whispers close to his ears, her sweet breath tickling his nose.
“For this?” Bakugou sighs under the kisses that she leaves along his jawline.
He felt her shook her head, nuzzling the crook of his neck. “No, for loving me,” her voice trembles.
Bakugou snaps his head to look at her and his heart tugs when he sees her moistened eyes. “Oy, why are you crying?” he whispered before he breaks away from her hug and towers her small frame. When she keeps silent he envelopes her into a hug of his own - tight, soft, comforting...
“I just feel special,” Ochako chuckles and buries her face on his chest. “You always make feel like I’m the most beautiful girl in this world,” she half-sobs and half-laughs.
“Not just in this world, cheeks. You’re the most beautiful girl in the motherfucking universe,” he soothes her, caresses the back of her, before he cups her cheeks with both hands.
Bakugou stares down at her, love and affection written on his usually mocking, usually angry, crimson eyes. “And you’re special, cheeks. More than you could ever think of. Imagine being able to tame this beast?” He smirks at her, eyes glint with the confidence that always accompanies his words.
“The most handsome beast in this universe,” she leans her face on his palm, melting her body in his arms.
“The kindest,” she kisses his open palm.
“Smartest,” she places a kiss on his cheek, tip-toeing on the process.
“Most caring,” her hands on his shoulders to keep herself on her toes.
“My most beloved beast,” she murmurs before kissing him on his lips.
And if the world would cease to exist on that moment, Bakugou would have not cared at all. The only world that matters to him is the one that is currently wrapped around his arms, fervently kissing him as if his kisses are her life support.
He grabs the back of her head, steadies her before he lunges forward and deepens their kiss. Their bodies crushed against each other, heartbeats in disarray for a minute, before they fall on a perfect harmony.
xxx
“Merry Christmas, baby cheeks,” Bakugou pulls the comforter over Ochako’s shoulders and hugs her closer to his bare chest.
Ochako snuggles closer, fitting perfectly in his arms, like a piece of a jigsaw puzzle. “Merry Christmas, too, love,” she sighs, eyes shut as she listens to his heart beating - calm, in a steady beating… weird, why is it starting to beat faster?
“Yeah...” he murmurs. She feels him move away but before she can even respond he is already back to his initial position as her body pillow. “... love,” he whispers and places a kiss on the top of her head.
Ochako’s eyes flutter open when Bakugou slides a cold metal piece around her finger. “What…” with trembling hands she covers her mouth as she stares, in a mixture of hundred emotions, at the back of her left hand, blurry vision focuses on the shining thing on her finger.
She straddles Bakugou on the process of turning to face him and searches for his eyes through the tears that found their way out of her ducts.
“Are you…” the words get caught in her throat, she is now a sobbing mess.
Bakugou takes her hand from her and showers them with his kisses. “If you’re asking me if I’m sure, then Cheeks, yes. I have never been so sure of anything,” he smiles fondly as he reaches for her face, wiping away the tears streaming down her cheeks.
“Not until you came into my life,” he whispers, pulling her closer and planting a kiss on her forehead. “So, will you take me… grow old with me…” his voice was starting to falter too.
“And build a family with me, my love?” He smiles at her.
And no one would believe it if they see the number two hero, Ground Zero, breaking into a sob when the love of his life- the only girl he ever loved and would ever love- looking at him, eyes strained with tears, and with a trembling voice breathes that one word that would change his life forever - for the best.
