Chapter Text
Izuku was five when his world was changed forever; both good and bad. You see, he was declared quirkless and he started to get bullied because of it. But after one of his bully’s assault on him, an older woman approached him in concern, “Excuse me, young man, are you alright?” Izuku sat up from his position and nodded hesitantly, “That boy isn’t of the nice sort, is he?” Now, he shakes his head.
“We used to be friends, but then he started acting really mean to me and anyone else who ‘gets in his way’ as he puts it.” The woman nodded in understanding.
She notices a small notebook in the young boy’s hands and asks, “What’s that you got there lad?” She points at the notebook in his hands.
Izuku looks down at it and says, with glee, “Oh this?! It’s my first analysis notebook! I like to write down everything there is to know about quirks, even quirk science!”
This garners the woman’s attention, “Oh? And what do you plan on doing with all of that information, if I may be so bold to ask?”
Izuku nods, “I plan on becoming a Hero with all of this! And if I can’t make it as a Hero, then I’ll be someone who helps others away from the field!”
“Oh! So an advisor of sorts eh?” To say the woman was intrigued would be an understatement. She wanted to see this boy succeed in his endeavor. No matter what, this boy would have his support. Before she leaves, she asks, “Is it alright if I can take a look inside that notebook of yours?” Izuku nods and hands it over to her.
She opens it and starts reading, only to be flabbergasted at the amount of information inside of it. ‘Either this child is very smart, or he has an analysis quirk. Either one seems likely.’ “What’s your quirk, dear boy?”
Izuku looks down, as if in shame, “I…I don’t have a q-quirk.”
Now the woman understood why he was being bullied; quirkless people of all ages have it tough nowadays. Most of the time, they died young or are from the older generations. She then gets an idea on how to help the boy, “Kid, how would you like a job?”
Izuku looks up at the woman, questioningly, “A job? But I’m only five miss. How can I have a job already?”
The woman tuts with her index finger waving back and forth sideways, “This job would be perfect for you. What’s your name kiddo?”
Izuku looks at her, “I-Izuku Midoriya, miss.”
“Well then, Izuku, take me to your parents and I’ll explain what your job will entail.” And with that they left for the Midoriya household.
When they arrived at the apartment, Izuku enters, followed by the woman as Izuku shouts out, “Mom I’m home. We have a visitor.”
“A visitor? At this time?” His mother walks to the door, only to see an older lady in a suit standing in the doorway. “Who are you, stranger?”
“Oh apologies, ma’am. I’m the President of the Hero Public Safety Commission and I just offered your son here a job that I believe you’ll find to be most interesting.” With that said, Izuku’s mom guided the important woman to their living room, “Please have a seat, I’ll be with you shortly.” The older woman nodded her head and sat down on the couch.
Inko thought that she was going to lose her shit when she saw that Izuku brought home a stranger, but when said stranger introduced herself as an important figure of their society, she couldn’t help but feel honored. Upon hearing that said figure offered her five-year-old son a job, she thought that she was dreaming.
When she sat in front of the woman in the living room, she spoke, “What is this about a job for my son? You understand that he’s only five, correct?”
The woman nodded, “Yes, I am aware of that fact, as well as him being quirkless. But I offered him the job of private quirk analyst.” Izuku shot up so fast that he took off from the chair he was sitting on, making Inko catch him before he hit the ground.
Inko spoke, with a stutter, “W-what do y-you m-mean by p-private q-quirk a-analyst?”
The woman pointed at Izuku’s notebook, “The information in your son’s notebook is very detailed, so much so that he could pass off as having an analysis quirk.”
Inko was surprised at the woman’s words. Her son could have a job that he’d love, even though it isn’t Heroics. This woman sounded like she fully believed in Izuku, something that she didn’t even do. She looks at Izuku, who in turn looks at her curiously. Inko could swear that he wanted her to say yes, and in all honesty, she wanted to as well.
So she made her decision, “Yes! I approve of my son working for you, but he still has to attend school and do other activities as well.”
The woman smiled at her decision, “Of course. We are even willing to educate him ourselves, if you would allow us?” Inko nods in approval, “Excellent! We can begin his first day this weekend, unless you have plans for anything substantial.” Inko shook her head, “Then I’ll see the two of you in Tokyo.” Before she exits, she states, “Oh. And if you so choose, we could help relocate you closer to the agency. We would pay for everything from moving to education for your son. If you have a job already, we will make arrangements for you.”
Inko gets up and says, “I work as a free-lance lawyer.”
This interests the lady, “Then you’ll be your son’s permanent lawyer once he starts working. We will be paying you, of course.” Inko nods in understanding. And with that, the woman leaves and Inko is exasperated. She stares at Izuku and states, “You’re either lucky or unlucky, I can’t tell anymore.” Izuku just laughs at her statement.
