Chapter Text
Jimin should've known better than to open his eyes. It might be human instinct to drift out of sleep when something was poking your cheek relentlessly but it was a trainee instinct to keep your eyes shut whenever you were granted a minute of rest.
He definitely should've known better this close to debut, being able to count the hours of sleep he'd gotten the past days with one hand. Who really was stupid enough to open their eyes because of some inconvenient thing like a finger poking into their cheek? Not Namjoon who was snoring soundly somewhere else in this room.
If anyone was to blame for his lack of sleep ever since he joined Bangtan then it were his parents for raising him to become a kind person. He sometimes wondered how many hours of sleep a real jerk was granted. 6? 12? 24? It only felt like half an hour had passed since Jimin had fallen asleep, only short thirty minutes of real rest until being woken by an unwavering finger poking into his cheek. It wasn't a hard guess to identify the blob of dark grey hovering in front of his mattress, he could've easily done so without opening his eyes.
"Jungkookie," Jimin mumbled into his pillow, turning his cheek away from the tenacious touch, "I told you already, just lie down next to hyeong if you can't sleep but don't wake me please."
He waited for the younger boy to get over his shyness and crawl under the blanket next to him, guarding himself for the chilly air that would hit him as soon as the sheet was lifted but a minute passed and nothing happened until the poking resumed and a familiar voice filled the air, "Jimin-ah."
If only he'd never allowed Jungkook to crawl into bed with him. He should've known that it would only lead to an open invitation for any of his group members to steal his direly needed hours of sleep. The dark blob currently keeping him awake by poking into his cheek and whispering his name was lucky that they were best friends and soulmates or otherwise he might have ended the other this second instead of asking him for his reason to keep poking his cheek.
"I had a weird dream," Taehyung explained, finger finally stopping its poking mission since the other was awake now, or rather conscious enough to have a little chat.
"Did someone poke your cheek in that dream or I'm the only one dreaming stuff like that lately," Jimin huffed, voice too husky from sleep and heart too kind to really sound annoyed.
"Nah," Taehyung answered, jumping over his best friend to lie down beside him, hands on his stomach, facing the ceiling as if he could see anything but grayish shadows in the dark room.
Jimin had to face a reality in which his soulmate seemed far too awake to let him sleep peacefully as he'd done before being woken so rudely, at least not without telling him about this weird dream first. So, he turned around and faced the other, draping the blanket above him in hopes of some blanket magic making the other fall asleep this instant. He'd definitely had to confront the maknae tomorrow as blanket magic seemingly didn't exist at all. Fifteen years and already a brat, Jimin could only imagine what the maknae would grow into.
"Did you ever have a dream that was far too vivid to be just a dream?" Taehyung mused, gathering the other's attention again. The question sparked some interest despite the godforsaken hour it has been asked at.
"Maybe it was a memory," Jimin suggested, not sure if he was conscious enough to have deep conversations like the one ahead of them. "What was your dream about?"
"A concert," the other answered, turning to face his best friend who could only imagine the excitement in the other's eyes judging by the tone of his voice.
"What concert?"
"Ours."
"Ours? As in Bangtan Sonyeondan?" Jimin could slowly understand why his friend had been calling that dream weird. They hadn't even debuted yet, everything was still uncertain, he himself feared to be kicked out of the group any of the following days, dreams of them holding a concert for sure felt weird. "Was it a big venue?"
"Not sure," Taehyung answered, trying to remember the details of his dream but the pictures slowly faded the longer he was awake.
"How did I look?" Jimin asked, not really caring for his looks but rather wanting to know if he'd been there at all.
"Different, more mature, blonde," Taehyung remembered, making his friend giggle into his pillow. Jimin couldn't imagine dying his hair blonde nor him being blonde suiting their concept at all. It surely was a weird dream. "Do you think it's a sign? A good omen for our debut?"
"Maybe if it was a big venue," Jimin said, reaching his hand out to caress his soulmate's cheek. He knew that they were all fearing the same things right now, the moment of success as close as the moment of failure, put a weird dream on top of that and he could understand why sleep seemed impossible for the other boy but it was late and they had a busy schedule, they needed sleep more than anything right now, and definitely more than closure about some weird dream.
"I'm sure it was a big venue, Jimin," Taehyung said after a while, both of their eyes already shut by now, sleep close enough for their dreams and hopes to reach for the stars.
"I'm sure you're right, Tae."
