Summary
It’s difficult to put a word to it, as there’s no tangible way to describe the manner in which the god of death takes its victims, but if Kyoko was to attempt to… she’d say she can hear the footsteps of the god of death.
Actually, even that’s an awkward phrasing considering that it’s more of a gut feeling than anything audible at times. But it’s a feeling different than any other she’s had. When she was young, she dismissed it as sudden pains in her stomach and took to ignoring it whenever it happened. But even at that age her bright mind left her unable to ignore the correlation between when those pains occurred and when someone around her would suddenly drop dead.
(The night her mother died, Kyoko had been struck with such an immense pain she had been unable to move for several hours. Her grandfather called it a panic attack, but she had been certain it was something different.)
