Work Text:
jimin sniffles as the cold wind bites at his cheeks, his face mask not protecting him as much as he’d like. he doesn’t remember busan being this cold during this time of the year, but then again, he hasn’t been home in a while. he sighs as he continues his walk, feet dragging against the pavement, the stars shining bright in the navy sky, yellow street lights illuminating his path to his destination.
he wishes he didn’t have to be here.
jimin wishes he didn’t have to face his past.
but being a hero makes you do terrible things, and this is just one of those troublesome things. so he wraps his hoodie tighter around him, some semblance of protection against the harsh cold, and wishes that he had ridden till here in a cab instead.

tracking kim seokjin was both easy and difficult. easy, if you were someone close to him who knew all about him. difficult, if you only looked at jin's outward persona and let his good looks fool you. when he went off the grid, most assumed he probably moved to a sparsely populated location and decided to set up a business there. some decided he was probably a popular model in eastern europe. some think he’s plotting to overthrow the current president of south korea.
jimin stands in front of the pc cafe, rocking on his heels, trying to muster up the courage to enter. the cafe is located in the deepest corners of jimin’s hometown, he got lost three times while following a gps. one time he literally smacked into a wall and the gps suggested to fucking go through it, i guess. that’s how transportation works, for sure.
jimin has been staring at the sign above the pc cafe for a while and the neon lights have started to hurt his eyes. he finally pushes the door. it doesn’t budge. fuck. he pulls it and hopes no one saw that. the cafe is dim but also not really. it’s past midnight so only the adults are here. the only source of light is from the screens in every different cabin.
he bows to the receptionist who smiles at him and motions towards the empty seats. jimin only nods and returns to his search. it’s been a while since he had last seen seokjin, but not enough to forget him. not even a little bit. he weaves through the different aisles of the same gamers or loud streamers but there’s no one who seems familiar to him.
until. oh no. he’s at the absolute end of the pc cafe and there he is. seokjin. typing on his rainbow keyboard, sharing his cabin with another young adult that jimin can only identify as jungkook by the fluffy hair and the oversized attire. jimin thinks jin probably won this game because he turns towards jungkook and laughs his notorious windshield wiper laugh, slipping his headphones off. jungkook audibly groans and punches seokjin’s shoulder which only makes him laugh louder.
jimin breathes in, clenches his fist, breathes out, unclenches them. shakes the nervousness in his hands and makes his way towards seokjin.
jungkook is the one who notices him first and his eyes widen as he recognizes jimin in the dim light. there’s something akin to relief that flushes through jimin’s bloodstream; glad that even if he left home so long ago, his dearest friends haven’t forgotten about him. jimin doesn’t remember the last time he talked to jungkook but would still count him as his best friend. jungkook rises abruptly, smashing jimin into a tight hug and jimin can only laugh in response. ruffling jungkook’s hair as he lets go.
‘’you’ve gotten taller, huh, kook?’’ jimin grins, letting his eyes roam over his childhood friend. the same faint dimple on his left cheek, the cute eye wrinkles when he grins way too big, happiness radiating from him in waves and jimin instantly feels ten times better than when he first walked in.
‘’you’re still tiny, hyung,’’ jungkook pouts, earning a gentle smack on the shoulder from jimin. from behind jungkook, seokjin tries to stifle a laugh behind his fist but his eye wrinkles betray him. and, yes. this is why jimin came here all the way from seoul on the earliest train that could take him back home. take him to seokjin. jungkook sees jimin zero in on seokjin, taps him on his shoulder and point towards the food corner, indicating he’ll be there. jimin nods, a soft smile lingers on his lips as thanks.
as soon as jungkook slips out of his seat, jimin takes his place. jin has still not looked at him, eyes focused on the happenings of his game.
‘’hyung,’’ jimin begins, soft. he doesn’t know what else to say and he doesn’t have to because jin looks at him and jimin has nothing left to say. suddenly, jimin is reminded of the first time he met seokjin. he had thought seokjin was the most beautiful person he had ever seen, he is, once again, reminded of the same sentiment.
seokjin runs a hand through his blond hair, tilts his head to focus entirely on jimin and speaks. ‘’isn’t that uncomfortable?’’ he points at jimin’s superhero suit, entirely made out of latex. to further prove his point, jin tugs at the material on jimin’s thigh and hears it snap back against his skin.
‘’i’m fine,’’ jimin mutters, tugging at the hoodie that he threw on over his suit, ‘’i was in a hurry.’’
‘’wow, all these years without seeing me,’’ seokjin smirks, ‘’and now, suddenly, you’re in quite a rush?’’
jimin groans, bringing his knees to his chest as he reclines back on the gaming chair, ‘’it’s not like that, hyung! i’ve been busy!’’
‘’is it not like that? is it not exactly how i predicted when i left?’’ seokjin turns towards jimin and raises his eyebrows.
‘’okay,’’ jimin pouts, ‘’maybe it’s a little like that.’’ he hates admitting he’s wrong but in this situation, maybe he is wrong. and it’s not something he’s particularly fond of, especially not when seokjin’s looking at him like that, like he wants to say i told you so.
seokjin twirls back to the screen using his chair, ‘’why didn’t you simply leave with me once you had the chance?’’ he shakes his head as if he really can’t comprehend why jimin decided to stay, ‘’it would’ve saved you from whatever mess you’re in currently.’’
‘’because i’m not a coward.’’ jimin replies, voice serious. jimin waits for seokjin to look at him and their eye contact is intense, the tension rising between them by the second. ‘’i knew the risks but at least i was helping someone. anyone.’’
seokjin scoffs, ‘’there are ways to help people without being a fool.’’
jimin crosses his arms and raises his eyebrows. something about seokjin’s words rub him the wrong way. maybe because seokjin is not wrong, maybe it would have been better if jimin was cautious, if he thought about his decisions more. but he doesn’t. so he let the words fall out of his mouth before even thinking,‘’by playing fortnite in some rundown internet cafe?’’
thankfully, seokjin expected jimin’s snarkiness, and keeps the conversation breezy.
‘’hey, everybody plays fortnite. i have connections with the biggest hacker in russia right now.’’ seokjin starts, the volume of his voice increasing with each word as if to further emphasize his point, ‘’the biggest hacker! in russia! a country where every single person is basically a hacker!’’
jimin frowns, ‘’and what has this hacker friend of yours told you?’’
‘’that you’re here because there has been a breach of trust in your agency,’’ seokjin smirks and moves closer to jimin. from this angle, jimin can observe seokjin’s perfectly clear skin, the way his eyelashes curl upwards, the way his brown orbs look directly into jimin’s golden contact lenses as seokjin’s voice dropped to a whisper, ‘’leaking of nuclear codes, was it?’’
jimin gasps. this was confidential information, absolutely no one knew about this. even jimin was not supposed to know about it, but a little seduction here and there does all the trick, helping jimin obtain all the information he needed. prior to this, everyone in jimin’s hero agency had started acting strange and suspicious, jimin’s own boss had resorted to sending jimin emails in code with a new burner account every time.
so, yeah, in turn jimin was suspicious as well.
‘’but then if you already knew,’’ jimin points at seokjin, ‘’why didn’t you do anything?’’
seokjin grins, ‘’cause i knew you would come to me.’’
‘’how?’’
‘’am i not your oldest, most trustworthy friend who is coincidentally a specialist in all things regarding technology and well versed in how hero agencies work?’’ seokjin gasps, ‘’or are you cheating on me with a russian hacker?!’’
‘’shut up!’’ jimin playfully smacks seokjin’s shoulder to which the elder laughs,
‘’you’re the oldest, that’s for sure.’’ he stands up, stretching, hoodie rising up with every movement. seokjin gets an eyeful of latex clinging to jimin’s abs before the hoodie drops back down.
‘’come on, hyung.’’ jimin stretches out a hand for seokjin to grab. seokjin takes it unhesitatingly. ‘’we have work to do.’’
‘’and i know just the place!’’ seokjin grins. ‘’my secret lair!’’
/
‘’this is just jungkook’s spare bedroom.’’ jimin deadpans, eyes wandering over the room, taking in all of seokjin’s belongings.
the mario plushie he’s had since childhood, this weird alpaca plushie poster he commissioned an artist to draw. what’s worse than seokjin’s own design is that the poster is the length of the whole wall, seokjin still never tells jimin how much the commission actually cost. jimin thinks it probably cost an awful lot and seokjin is just embarrassed.
he watches as seokjin moves toward his setup, the way his keyboard lights up in rainbow colours, his mouse mat which is also the weird alpaca design, his three different monitor screens, and then the sleek, comfortable gaming chair which seokjin easily slips into.
‘’my resources are dwindling, i have to work with what i can get.’’ seokjin replies as he cracks his knuckles and neck, getting ready.
‘’resources are dwindling yet..’’ jimin opens seokjin’s closet and out pops a life sized mario body pillow, ‘’you had to get this?’’
‘’yes.’’ seokjin replies simply; gets up, takes the pillow back from jimin, kisses mario on the nose, gently places it back in the closet and goes back to his chair. ‘’now. tell me what you are actually here for.’’
and, well, this is the part jimin is familiar with. the part where he rattles off all the information he knows to seokjin who has a little notepad out and is taking notes on who to investigate and where to obtain the needed data from. the part where seokjin will in turn, turn off the lights, throw a blanket towards jimin whilst he gets settled in his chair and begins his work. the blanket for jimin is so he can sleep because he full well knows that seokjin will not be getting out of that seat for a while.
so in the dimly lit room, where even the monitor’s harsh lighting can’t hide how beautiful seokjin is, jimin will think. he will think about how he came to busan only a few hours ago and is already working towards a solution where as he was suffering for weeks in seoul. how everything is easier with seokjin, his most reliable friend, who always helps jimin no matter what. no matter the fact that jimin didn’t even keep in contact with him for years. no matter the fact that when seokjin asked jimin to come with him, jimin scoffed and turned his face the other way.
because it was better to leave seokjin. to forget about him. because if jimin truly believed that seokjin was just a part of his past that he had to leave behind, he wouldn’t have to think about his feelings for seokjin. wouldn’t have to think about how easy it is to love seokjin. wouldn’t think about how jimin has loved seokjin. for so, so long.
and as jimin’s eyes gaze at seokjin’s hunched back, he feels his heart ache. ache for seokjin.
/
it’s been three days. three long, grueling days.
three days since seokjin has glued himself in front of his computer screen and jimin has done everything but stay in the same room as seokjin.
because staying in the same room means thinking about seokjin, thinking about how jimin has been sleeping in seokjin's bed, thinking about how his pillows smell like the faint floral perfume seokjin likes to use, the same one he has used since jimin has known him, seokjin's signature scent. thinking about how the clothes he's wearing currently are seokjin's clothes because jimin was a dumbass who only wore a hoodie and his superhero suit when he came to busan and thought everything would work out, thinking about how the clothes drown him and how jimin feels like when he was a weird, lanky teenager wearing clothes that never fit right who miraculously saved everyone in a mall, that was falling apart, all by himself and seokjin was the cool, witty employee in the hero agency he was thrown into, a manager from the IT department who everyone fawned over. thinking about how seokjin is the most hard working, selfless person jimin knows and it is these thoughts that jimin knows are dangerous, will make his heart hurt even more.
so it's when jimin is entering seokjin's room, freshly showered, hair still dripping at the tips, was boxing with jungkook prior to this, he finds seokjin in the same position he left him in. hunched over his keyboard, rapidly tapping away at the keys, desk littered with empty takeout boxes and coffee mugs, a stray granola bar here and there. jimin tried to clean up the mess but seokjin didn't let him come near at all in case it broke his concentration.
tearing his gaze away from seokjin, he waddles over to the closet, one hand holding the towel wrapped around his waist. sifting through the clothes, jimin decided to wear another one of seokjin's hoodies, this one beige in colour and drops to his knees, it was when he was trying to jump into some sweatpants—
“it's done!” seokjin screeched, pounding a fist on his table, causing multiple takeout containers fall to the floor.
— jimin stumbled from where he was wearing his pants, almost dropping them to the ground. he felt his heart beat race at the sudden noise and as he turned his gaze to seokjin who was grinning at him, he extended his hand to the left and threw whatever his hand could grasp to seokjin's face. at the impact, seokjin closed his eyes and groaned in pain.
it was a mario figure, the closest thing jimin could hold.
''fuck off, hyung,'' jimin complained as he finished wearing his pants, ''i almost had a heart attack.''
''no, fuck you!! why'd you attack me!!'' seokjin pouted, finally standing up in three days. ''wait. i can't feel my legs.''
''yeah, that's what you get for being supremely unhealthy,'' jimin rolled his eyes but went to support seokjin anyway.
''if i'm so unhealthy, why do i never have to go to the bathroom?'' seokjin scoffs as he does some light stretches to restore feeling in all of his body.
jimin doesn’t even bother gracing seokjin with a response on that one.
''are you gonna tell me what's done or not?'' jimin questions as he does some stretches with seokjin, he forgot to do his after he finished with boxing.
'yes!'' seokjin's eyes instantly light up and jimin has to physically stop himself from kissing seokjin at that moment, ''you told me there was intent to share the nuclear codes, right?''
''oh, yeah, definitely. hank received the codes from somebody in an intelligence agency and was ready to spread them.''
''exactly, so,'' seokjin detaches a pen drive from the computer, ''in this USB —''
''which looks like a watermelon?'' jimin raised one eyebrow.
''because i adore the summer time, keep up, jimin.'' seokjin groans.
''my bad.'' jimin pursed his lips.
''anyway, i created a nifty little virus which we'll install in his computer. so when hank will try to share the codes, not only will it eat up all the files in his computer, but if he has already shared the codes, it'll destroy the files of the receiver's computer as well. therefore making sure no one has the codes!''
jimin's eyes widened, ''wow.. hyung.. that's actually really incredible..'’ seokjin only gave a small smile in response, still punching his legs in order to restore some feeling in them.
‘’wait… you said… we’ll install the virus which means…’’ jimin doesn’t even want to finish his thought but seokjin does it for him, anyway.
‘’road trip, baby!’’ seokjin brings up a hand for a high five. ‘’just like old times!’’
jimin sinks to the ground.
/
the highway to seoul is empty as seokjin speeds down the empty streets, windows all the way rolled down as he sings to his favourite songs. jimin scoffs at the immaturity but he can’t help but smile along, folding his arms on the window to rest his head on them, midnight wind coursing through his raven locks.
‘’why does your playlist only consist of hannah montana songs?’’ jimin groans as ‘’he could be the one’’ plays for the fifth time in a row.
‘’how does your playlist not?’’ seokjin snipes back, ‘’i’m listening to pop excellence.’’
jimin groans but seokjin pays him no heed, continuing to sing along.
‘’ - he’s got everything that a girls wanting,’’ seokjin snaps his fingers towards jimin, ‘’guitar cutie,’’ he points to himself, ‘’he plays it groovy,’’ detaching his hands from the steering wheel to mimic some epic air guitar movies.
jimin laughs loudly, amused with the way seokjin’s crooked fingers move before his eyes widen and he points out to the road. ‘’hyung! car!’’
seokjin gasps as he hurries his hands back to the wheel but finds the road in front completely empty.. he looks back to jimin who is practically purple from trying to hold in his laughter. in the back, hannah montana keeps on crooning about his dream guy.
seokjin smacks jimin’s shoulder, ‘’i fucking hate you!’’ and jimin can’t stop laughing now.
he can’t stop laughing because right now, it feels like they are just two normal young adults going on a road trip together, enjoying each other’s company, making fun of each other, eating shitty snacks, not a single burden on their shoulders.
but as much as jimin wishes this could be his life, it’s not. because he’s a superhero. a public figure the people of korea rely on to keep them safe and sound, to keep them protected. because he’s saved korea from the brink of collapse before, and he will have to again. and again. because the bad dudes never stop, so who is jimin to take a break?
and seokjin? well. jimin doesn’t know how to fix seokjin in his life. because the last time he tried, he got so nervous he ended up cutting all communication with him and then further, didn't meet him for another four years. so safe to say, jimin’s not good at relationships and he doesn’t work well with people. that’s why he’s trained himself enough to never rely on others. but of course, he has limitations as well. technology wise, to be precise.
he sighs, looking at seokjin one last time, who’s still humming along to his disney songs, before huddling in his huge hoodie and going to sleep.
these thoughts are just trivial troubles for another time.
/
they’re parked three blocks away from the agency, seokjin currently disabling every cctv camera in the perimeter when jimin decides to change into his superhero suit. he’s zipping it up from the back when he hears a whistle.
‘’phew. you probably do squats, right?’’ seokjin says, very obviously looking at jimin’s butt.
‘’they are a part of my workout routine, yes.’’ jimin raises an eyebrow. ‘’stop looking at my butt.’’
seokjin flushes bright red. ‘’i’m just saying,’’ he begins to mutter, ‘’it’s a nice butt. can’t blame a guy.’’
jimin flicks seokjin on the forehead, ‘’just do your security recon.’’
seokjin swirls back to his monitors spread out in the back of the van, ‘’i can multitask but okay.’’ he taps a monitor, ’’obviously, we’ve got guards everywhere and a 24/7 functioning security room.’’
‘’so the cameras will be on all the time?’’
‘’yeah, i can’t really fudge with them without arousing major suspicion. so,’’ he hands jimin an earpiece, ‘’i’ll just help you avoid them.’’
‘’sweet,’’ jimin grins, inserting the earpiece in his ear, ‘’what about the guards?’’
‘’there are less on the right side so that’s where you’ll be climbing to hank’s office.’’ seokjin hums. ‘’fifteenth floor, right?’’
jimin only nods as he wears his face mask, ‘’show time, i suppose.’’
/
the air around him feels suspended and still as he walks over to the agency, moonlight illuminating his path, a flashlight would be too risky.
directly entering the agency would be way too dangerous so he has seokjin leading him to a back route from where he can jump over the walls. the walls are all quite tall, fully intent on keeping strangers out. but jimin has been in this agency for the better part of his life, he knows this place like the back of his hand so climbing over some walls isn’t going to be the biggest hassle today.
it’s still quite a height, though. jimin has to begin with a running start to gain enough momentum to jump high enough, swiftly flipping over the wall. his posture perfect and his actions clean. his boots effectively cancel out any noise that may have occurred due to the impact. he fixes the cap on his head, in case of cctv cameras. it’s when he hears faint mumbling that he quickly presses himself against the glass walls of the agency.
it’s most probably a guard doing his rounds and he was proven right when a man clad in a pristine suit entered jimin’s line of vision. he was talking in his earpiece when he noticed jimin but jimin had already noticed him before so all of the guard’s reactions were a few seconds late. that’s why before he could say anything, jimin was already halfway through his flying roundhouse kick, effectively knocking down the man. the man grunted in pain on the ground, his earpiece falling a few feet away. before the guard could retaliate, jimin struck him across the head, causing him to become unconscious.
‘’there are more coming your way,’’ seokjin states, ‘’better hurry unless you’re in a mood to fight.’’
‘’i’m a hero, hyung. not some sort of vigilante.’’
‘’technically…’’ seokjin started but jimin had already tuned him out.
jimin’s suit is already built in with gecko gloves and soles, he quickly slips out of his boots, secures them in his backpack, before climbing up the glass walls. from below him, he can hear the other guards discover the unconscious body but jimin is already way too far up to be noticed. and, nobody ever really looks up when searching for an intruder.
‘’hyung, which office is it?’’ jimin questions as he moves from side to side, peeking through one window after another.
‘’two windows down to the right.’’
jimin starts to move.
‘’my right! my right!!’’
jimin groans and proceeds towards the correct window.
the windows for their offices have no ledge or any way you could open them. they're offices with glass walls you can out from. which makes them even harder to break in.
but, jimin is a hero geared up with every and all hero tech ever. he presses a button on his belt that shoots out a grappling hook towards the roof. when the hook is fixed, jimin let's go of the glass. suspended in air, his hands are free to take out the laser glass cutter from his backpack. it's incredibly powerful and also leaves behind no marks, so you could simply just cut the glass, take the piece out, enter the office, and put the piece back. right where it was.
“okay, before you go any further,” seokjin starts, jimin can hear him furiously typing on his keyboard, “there are three security cameras in this office and i can redirect them to the hallway to buy you time but it won't be much.”
“give me numbers.”
seokjin groans, “maybe five minutes. but that truly depends on how incompetent the worker is.”
“i'll take that action.”
jimin detaches himself from the hook as soon as he enters the office, doing a quick somersault towards the desk. show off, he hears seokjin mutter in his earpiece. jimin rolls his eyes before scanning the office. it’s the same as every other office in the building. pristine, white floor, a pretty, fluffy rug placed in the middle of the room and on top of that, a round coffee table.
the office desk is placed a few distance away from the back glass walls, and an LCD mounted on the wall in front of the desk. jimin quickly spots the computer before hurrying with the watermelon pen drive in hand.
‘’i just plug it in, right?’’ jimin asks.
‘’yep. i’ll be doing the rest of the work for you.’’ seokjin hums, his typing in the background never stopping.
as soon as jimin plugs in the drive, the monitor instantly lights up, several pop ups flashing red at the same time before one takes over the entire screen. the pop up has a mario background and virus implementation as the header. jimin shrugs, it’s to the point.
‘’how long will it take?’’ jimin questions as he decides to make the most of this visit. he rifles through drawer after drawer, file after file with nothing suspicious. the usual tabs on underground villains, some of hank’s personal heroes, a couple of mob leaders. jimin takes a few pictures for future assistance.
it’s when he’s trying to close the last drawer that he feels some resistance. hands working quickly, he tries to figure out the problem and finds something strapped to the bottom of the drawer. it’s a journal. written entirely in code. jimin quickly pockets it. jimin hopes it’s actually useful information and not details about what kind of hentai hank likes to watch, too embarrassed to write it in normal words.
‘’uh.. jimin..’’
‘’what’s up?’’ jimin answers as he returns his gaze to the monitor. 54% is done, only a few minutes left.
‘’maybe your hero agency’s security team is not as incompetent as i thought. you’ve got men coming your way hot.’’ seokjin winces.
‘’what!’’ jimin screams into his earpiece, ‘’how many?’’
seokjin types on his keyboards for a few moments before replying, ‘’nine. maybe ten.’’
‘’what about backup?’’ jimin questions.
‘’hasn’t arrived yet.’’
‘’okay, i’ll deal with them. can you fasten up the virus process?’’ jimin sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose.
‘’you got it, boss.’’ seokjin chuckles.
jimin bounds towards the door, walk steady and firm as he opens the door. the hallway is empty. but he hears footsteps, loud footsteps. a lot of footsteps. he stands in the middle, awaiting his destiny.
there are men coming from both entrances of the hallway, and they seem menacing. but that’s okay. jimin has fought worse than mere human beings.
‘’be careful,’’ seokjin whispers in his ear.
‘’you know i never am.’’
and with that, both sides of the men rush towards him, various weapons at their side. jimin waits until they’re only a few inches away from him before he jumps upwards, gecko gloves sticking him to the roof. below him, the men who ran in the front tumble into each other and fall to the ground. jimin hurries and falls at the entrance. one of the men spot him and points. now all of them are running towards him at the same time.
jimin, too, runs towards them. skidding to the ground at the last moment, rendering a lot of them confused causing them to be easy targets. he slides in between legs, slashing each and every single one of them with his pocket knife. a bit of blood falls on his face from that action. with that, he efficiently disarmed about four men. as soon as he stands up, someone tries to attack him from the back.
jimin quickly grabs the fist, stabbing the man in the stomach. using the same man, he drops him on the person behind him. another man surges towards him but jimin is quicker at blocking his punch and kicks, stabbing him in the neck, before kicking him a few feet away.. he grins.
when he was younger, he never understood why people made him a superhero. it was no secret to anyone that jimin had quite the bloodlust, so he wondered if the general public is okay with lives being lost if they’re bad men dying? but how does anyone truly know if someone is actually bad, maybe some people are compromised into working for bad people, maybe people are forced to; lives, family, and money on the line.
he wondered who came up with the concept of bad and good, who decided what was right and wrong, who decided who was the villain and who was the hero. is killing suddenly okay if he has the title of a superhero? jimin stabs another man in the neck. is what he’s doing okay?
he’s about to fight with the last man standing when he hears a gunshot, he sees the man ahead of him shot in the chest right in front of his eyes. he instantly falls to the ground, blood pooling through his white shirt.
jimin whips back to see seokjin standing at the other end of the hallway.
‘’thought you might need help,’’ seokjin’s voice is cocky in jimin’s ear. jimin rolls his eyes.
‘’i disarmed nine men before you arrived. alone. i think i’m fine.’’
both of them enter the office together. ‘’the virus was running kind of slow, i thought it would be better if i operated it from here.’’ seokjin explains, hurrying towards the monitor.
‘’alright,’’ jimin replies, ‘’i’ll keep watch.’’ he peers downwards from each glass wall, trying to find any more of the guards who he is definitely convinced are hank’s men. he squints as he sees multiple suvs pull up to the front of the agency.
‘’okay, i fixed the problem,’’ seokjin grins, ‘’just smooth sailing for another two minutes, now.’’
‘’i don’t think we have two minutes.’’ jimin states.
seokjin quickly takes out his laptop from his backpack, he opens it up to display all the footage that the cctv cameras are displaying. ‘’oh, we definitely do. they haven't even reached the first floor yet.’’
as soon as seokjin heard that, something clanged right outside the office door. jimin squints at seokjin who brittles under his stare. ‘’okay, maybe i miscalculated.’’
jimin hurries and locks the door, even though he knows it won’t last against a whole herd of trained professionals. yeah, he has a bunch of knives, and a gun from seokjin’s side, but that’s not enough to fight against a hundred men. and as much as jimin is ambiotious, he’s not dumb.
‘’oh.. this is so bad.’’ jimin worries his bottom lip, quickly trying to work out a game plan.
he feels seokjin plant a hand on his shoulder from behind. ‘’hey.. it’s gonna be okay.’’ he pauses. ‘’i love you.’’
‘’i love you, too,’’ jimin instinctively replies back before he whips around, ‘’no, what! why would you tell me you love me when we’re gonna die?’’
seokjin’s eyes widen in return, ‘’we’re gonna die?!’’
jimin whacks his own forehead, ‘’no shit, hyung! we’re completely outnumbered!’’
‘’not completely..’’ seokjin chimes, turning back to his laptop. his facial expression turns extremely stoic. ‘’okay, yeah. we're completely blocked off from all of the entrances because of hank's men."
"oh my god.." jimin holds his head in his hands as he sinks to the ground.
"but! good news! we finally told each other that we like each other!" seokjin grins. "huh? what about that?"
"hyung, i can and will end you," jimin growls, "don't test me."
"okay! sounds about right." seokjin closes his laptop shut.
/
there’s another bang to the office door when jimin realizes something. why does he have to fight? he was so hell bent on thinking on how to fight all of the men to escape when there are so many other ways to escape.
‘’is the virus done?’’ jimin asks.
‘’yeah, all done.’’ seokjin smiles slightly, holding the watermelon pen drive.
‘’okay, hyung. i know you’re not the most fond of heights..’’ jimin sees seokjin’s eyes widen.
‘’no…’’ he pleads.
‘’it’s gonna be okay,’’ jimin tries to smile reassuringly as he stretches a hand towards seokjin, ‘’just hold on to me.’’
seokjin nods as he takes jimin’s hand. jimin quickly removes the glass he cut earlier in the night. he sets off his grappling hook again, not sure if he could support another weight without some sort of anchor. tugging the rope a couple of times to make sure it’s sturdy enough, jimin pulls seokjin near him causing him to stumble into jimin’s arms and before the fear could even register in seokjin’s brain, jimin jumped.
seokjin screamed all the way down and if they get caught because of him, jimin would gladly hand him over. seokjin’s grip was deathly tight around jimin’s neck as he hid his face in jimin’s chest. seokjin only let go when they had landed on their own two feet. jimin quickly wore his boots to prevent his soles from sticking every, unhooked the grapple, and took seokjin’s hand again. seokjin is a model figure, with his physical condition top notch despite his horrible eating habits. but jimin still doubts that seokjin could jump as high as seokjin so they would have to sneak out of some gate instead of jumping over a wall.
seokjin takes out his laptop as a guide. ‘’okay, let’s go.’’
the guards have broken open the office door by now, discovering it empty so now they’re on their way back down and if seokjin and jimin don’t move fast, they’re going to be in a lot of trouble.
hand in hand, both of them run, seokjin helping them avoid any cctv camera or security guard. the moon illuminates their path as they finally escape from the agency, the sound of their boots hitting against the pavement thunderous in the silent night. jimin wonders if anyone knows what he’s doing right now, jimin wonders if the house located in the end of the road are wondering what’s going down on in the hero agency, is anyone thinking of him, does anyone care about him.
seokjin tugs at jimin’s hand, shaking him out his thoughts, and jimin smiles to himself, he thinks it’s okay if no one cares about him as long as seokjin is with him.
/
‘’hey? where did you get that gun from?''
‘’jungkook sold it to me!''
''jungkook sells guns?!''
''yeah! he has a whole business for handling guns with his boyfriend!"'
''what!!''
