Chapter 1: ||Of Rooftops and Helicopters||

Chapter Text

Raindrops. All you can see are raindrops in your vision. Dropping down from the sky, down you're (h/c) bangs and down your face.

The barrel of the gun was visible for you only after you blinked a few times. Slowly your eyes traveled over to the slim fingers which laid on the trigger, to the soaked wet fabric of the navy blue jacket. You looked up to the face of the stranger from your position on the ground.

The dimly light of the rooftop illuminated the facial features of your opponent. His narrow dark eyes observed your shivering body attentive not once blinking while beads of rain trailed down his blonde hair and onto the hem of his dress shirt.

The world spun in slow motion as you asked yourself how this whole situation could even happen to you when you finally decided to open your mouth still shaking out of fear.

"P-please d-don't...."

Shivering with angst and drenched from the rain your eyes met the one of the threatening guy above you who's lips are pursed into a thin line.

"Your life will end here, Kyle Coleman." The man said quietly, just barely for you to hear in the rain.

"Wh-who?"

The stranger flinched slightly, as he watched your trembling figure "Don't play dumb. You know what was coming for you." The click of the gun let you jump and every muscle, every nerve in your body ached. You feel your blood pumping hot through your veins and your heart stopped for a split second.

"I'm not this guy!" You managed to scream desperate while you clenched your hands into fist unknowingly scratching your nails on the hard surface. "Please! I don't know who you are or why you want to kill me but please...!"

The seconds passed like eternities. The rain didn't stopped either and you started to freeze in your own dress shirt and your thin slacks that felt now extremely uncomfortable.

A barely noticable change happened when the stranger lowered the gun just a tad and examined you from head to toe. You held your breath, frightened that every little move you make will cause the trigger to go off.

Slowly he spoke again, "If you are not Kyle Coleman, who the fųck are you?"

"M-m-my name is (Y/N)! I was brought here by my caregiver!" You quickly said still frightened to the core of your being. You didn't knew anything. Just to wait on the rooftop. She said nothing, she just brought you up and then left. And then the stranger attacked you from behind so you fell onto the ground.

The guy furrowed his brows, looking at you in disbelief while you teared up and fought against the urge to cry out loud like a little boy.

The blonde guy exhaled confused, lowered his gun completely and looked at your whole body again before he grabbed into his pocket. His eyes fixed on yours while he typed something on the device and held it against his ears.

A few seconds passed before he spoke sternly, "I'm not sure if he's the one."

Suddenly the whole situation turned into a mess you never imagined to be in. The door to the staircase flew open and all your ears heard was screaming and loud popping sounds you recognized as gun shots. It was terrifying and you found yourself crawling backwards. The guy who threatened you aimed for the shooters on the door while you tried your best to hold your bladder and maybe find a way out of this peculiar situation.

The shooting stopped abruptly as your back hit the edge of the rooftop.

"Alright, I really don't know if your fųcking with me but right now I've got no choice but to take you with me..."

Your head snapped up to the towering figure who casually stood in front of you busying himself with his phone.

"Wh..."

"No discussion. Come on!"

Roughly he grasped your arm and pulled you to your still shaking feet while your brain tried to figure out what the hell just happened. Your thoughts and emotions seemed to crush on you like cold hail when your ears perked up to two different sounds.

One was stomping of heavy boots from the door and the other was the ear piercing sound of a helicopter which flew in your direction.

With steady steps the blond man guided you to the other side of the rooftop his eyes always switched between the staircase door and the approaching helicopter.

"You got choices here!" You heard him screaming in the distance because fųcking hell you stood on the edge of the roof and glanced down so all your senses lost their ability to function for a second while your mind turned into a sponge. "Either you'll jump into the helicopter or you die! What will it be!"

With wide eyes you looked to the still angry looking orbs of the stranger who was the only thing that's keeping you from falling down the thirty three floor building. And before you can even answer, react to the screams or just let yourself fall and end it all, the stranger shoved you hard from where you stood and out of reflexes you pushed yourself from the platform.

There was only one picture in your mind. The long falling the impact of the concrete and nobody who will ever shed a tear after your death.

The adrenaline quickly pumped through your veins and you cursed inwardly because it blocked your ability to just lose consciousness as you thudded onto a metallic surface, shoulders first. For the first few seconds you were sure you died. But the second thudding sound got you out of your trance.

The loud noise of the vehicle made your head ache when you managed to roll onto your back and look around you.

You can't believe it. You're safe. Carefully you glanced over your body in case something missed but everything was right there. No pain, no scratch. It was unbelievable. The stranger managed to jump into the helicopter too and quickly closed the door before he glanced down into your shocked eyes.

"Congratulations. You're not dead."

Complete exhaustion claimed your body as your eyes fluttered shut and you fell back into the sweet nothing of unconsciousness.
