Work Text:
To say that Namjoon was an enigma was completely understandable. And his friends prove it every single day of their lives ever since they met him.
For sure he is the best friend and best leader they could've ever wished for. He looks after them all the time, he gives them advices, gives them the warmest and comfortable hugs in the world, he gives him inspiration and gives them unconditional support, just to mention a few of all the things he always does for them.
But they also know that he can be very clumsy. He always breaks things by only touching them, which is something the members always make fun of. Namjoon just had to accept that bad luck and deal with it, and his movements are even more careful, but sometimes he just messes up. It's inevitable.
Most of the time they feel like they have to take care of him too. He is always busy, feeling preoccupied, making sure they're okay, constantly asking them if something is bothering them and moving around without stop to fix things and find solutions to their problems. They do care a lot about him and also try their best to make his work lighter, not causing any trouble, and giving him the space he needs. Sometimes it's inevitable to go and give him a hug, caress his hair even if he might find that a bit weird, or just talk to him and listen to whatever he needed to say to feel good.
Namjoon is a great friend and an excellent leader, and he knows so many interesting things but, as Jungkook says, it's weird that he doesn't know basic things everyone should know about.
“I mean, we often help you out when you accidentally mess up, but what about the person you're gonna spend the rest of your life with? They'll deal with it until their last breath” Jimin said, after drinking a sip of his beer while everyone's gathered to celebrate Namjoon's birthday. They had a tradition to roast the birthday guy for things he'd done the last year and make fun of it.
Everyone just laughed, but Namjoon got shy and tried to hide his reddened face behind the bottle between his hand. “Yeah, about that...”
That birthday was special for both Namjoon and Hoseok since it was the day they decided to tell the guys they were dating.
Hoseok smiled big and got closer to Joon to hold his hand while he told the great news. His friends were happy about it, and some of them already knew it.
“Aha!” Jungkook said, pointing at Jimin after the boys congratulated the couple. “You now owe me ₩25,000!”
While everyone started to complain and say that they already knew about it too, Namjoon just looked at them fondly, smiling so his dimples appeared on his cheeks, and feeling even more thankful.
Later that night, Namjoon and Hoseok started to get ready to sleep.
“Joonie? What's taking you so long?” Hoseok asks while he's laying on the bed, looking for something to watch on the television. Namjoon's in the bathroom brushing his teeth and putting on his pajamas.
“Just hold on a minute, Hobi!” He announces, moving things around and closing gates. A couple few seconds later the door is opened, revealing the robust figure of the black haired man. Hoseok smiles at him and denies a bit with his head.
“So, what are we watching tonight?” He lays next to his boyfriend while he's still looking at him fondly and also trying not to laugh.
“I actually found a TV show, it seems interesting. Wanna watch it with me?” He asks, still smiling. Namjoon nods and gets comfortable as Hoseok presses the play button. “Hey, Joonie?”
“Yeah?”
Hobi raises his hand to wipe off the toothpaste that Joon didn't washed on the corner of his lip. “So I'm guessing I will deal with this for the rest of my life, won't I?” He laughs a bit and kisses Namjoon again.
“Is it worth it?” Namjoon jokes, putting his arm around Hoseok's waist.
“Totally” He smiles and leaves a last kiss on his forehead before Namjoon rest his head on the other's chest, feeling his warmth and his free hand caressing his hair.
Because, yes, Namjoon may be a little bit careless but he doesn't mind as long as Hoseok is by his side.
