Chapter Text
“Alright, everyone line up!” Fat Gum called happily while munching on a cookie, “We’ve got a short introduction from Thirteen about the training you’ll be doing today. It’s their specialty so listen closely.”
Hitoshi focused his eyes on the Rescue Hero as Uraraka squealed beside Izuku. As the Hero explained the sort of training they did in this massive place he started to get excited. Combat simulations were all well and good. But this was what being a Hero was really about. Saving people from all kinds of danger. Just as they were getting ready to head down the stairs the teachers froze. Following their serious gazes Hitoshi felt his blood run cold. A swirling portal of black and purple had appeared in the courtyard area below. The wisps of smoke still familiar even after having only met the man once, “Kurogiri.” he choked in horror under his breath
“Everyone get out of here!” Fat Gum yelled as an EM pulse rocked the area. The doors behind them slammed shut as the lights above flickered violently.
One of Hitoshi’s hands hovered over a black bracelet on his wrist. It wouldn't take too much pressure to break it. But once he did a lot of things would happen. Depending on the situation, his parents might even wind up dead or arrested should they somehow manage to make it here in time.
“Protect the children!” Fat Gum shouted as he took a running jump down the stairs
“I don’t know if he has enough fat stored to fight all those Villains off.” Izuku mutters to himself in a mildly horrified tone, “What are they doing here anyway?”
Hitoshi looks around for any enemies at their level, “We have to get to that door and get out of here.”
“Everyone, move!” Thirteen was directing them toward the door almost instantly after Hitoshi voiced the thought, “We need to get outside and call for help. Something is obviously wrong with the alarms so we need to…”
“You aren't going anywhere.” that damned portal swirls before the group. Familiar yellow eyes lock with Hitoshi’s purple ones from within the warping mass, “Especially you Aizawa.”
“Shit.” Hitoshi snaps the bracelet on his wrist without further hesitation
“GET OUT OF THE WAY!” shout Kirishima and Bakugou as they lunge forward in front of Thirteen. Stupid idiots. Even before the smoke clears Hitoshi knows this will end badly. He tries to warn Izuku but they are all suddenly enveloped in a black mist
Hitoshi reaches out for Izuku but his fingers fall short. The sensation of falling head over heels down a well is terrifying. The fall ends with solid ground knocking the wind from Hitoshi’s chest. Before he can even stand there is a foot on his back, “You don’t look so special to me. Oh well.” something is wrapped around Hitoshi’s lower face and his head is pulled back violently so it can be tied tightly in place, “That should keep you quiet.” He may be silenced but he wasn't helpless. Using all his strength Hitoshi manages to buck the foot from his back and roll several feet to the right. Mid roll he hops to his feet and turns to face his opponent. The guy looks about thirty or so. His lipless mouth showed off large sharp teeth. Bright green hair stuck out in random directions on the man's head. Solid black eyes were pinned on Hitoshi, "Just accept this kid. It'll make it easier on everyone."
Hitoshi hopes his fighting stance screams the, "Who said I wanted the easy way?" he longs to quip
"Fine. We can bring you in unconscious as well as awake." The asshole slides into his own fighting stance, "Get ready to…"
A large metal pole smacks the side of the man's face. He goes down without another word. Standing behind the now fallen man was a younger looking woman with dark blue hair. She looked seriously stressed as she glared down at the guy, "Don't touch the kid asshole." Hitoshi stayed ready for an attack despite appearances. She finally looked at him and smiled, "Easy, I'm on your side. Jeez this really couldn't be worse." The woman props her pole against her hip and pulls out a phone with a frown, "I can't even get a message out about my location. Mic is going to kill me if anything happens to you. Shit." It really sounded more like she was talking to herself than him.
Hitoshi realized she must be connected to Void somehow. What she was doing here was still a mystery but at least he could half trust her. Letting his guard down just slightly he reached behind himself to try and remove the odd muzzle on his face. His fingers ran over some kind of metal plate. The more he touched it the more complicated it felt. Clearly this wasn't some halfassed gag. He looked back at the blue haired woman to see she was still fiddling with her phone. Hitoshi reached out and tugged on her sleeve. She turned to him with a curious look. He motioned to the gag and she blushed.
"Oh, right. That thing probably sucks." She stepped around him to examine the lock, "Man this looks odd. I wonder how we would open it." He felt a tug at the fabric, " Damn, it's got some sort of metal woven into it. I won't be able to tear it. But I can at least get you out of here before you get hurt."
Hitoshi took several steps back before pointing frantically at where the entrance and, hopefully, his friends were located. It was obvious that he wanted to help.
"No way tiny Mic. Not worth that risk. Besides, if any of the Villains here see me being all buddy buddy with you they won't hesitate to end my ass. We're getting you out of here."
A large sound came from far off to the right. Hitoshi looked in that direction as a huge amount of water rose into the air. Someone was fighting in the Water Rescue area. Without waiting he charged in that direction. That attack had to have come from Izuku. His friend was in trouble.
"Hey, come back here!" The woman called as she ran after him.
By the time Hitoshi reached the top of a nearby rocky hill it seemed most of the excitement on the lake was over. A bunch of limp bad guys floated on the surface of the water. He could see a few figures over by the far shore. He smiled. They had gotten away. His eyes raised and then widened. Across the lake was the courtyard where the Villains had first appeared. Many downed figures were visible. But the one that stood out wore a shredded yellow jumpsuit and had lost about 300lbs. His bloodied form was being held in one hand by some sort of black colored monster. Hitoshi internally gasped as his Homeroom Teacher was slammed face first into the ground.
"Aizawa!" Hitoshi turned to see Yaoyorozu standing on a rock not far from him. She looked distressed while pointing behind him. He turned to see the blue haired woman. He figured his classmate thought she was an enemy. Hitoshi still wasn't 100% convinced she was on his side. Before he could figure out how to show he was safe something behind the Creation user made her retreat quickly with a worried look. Concerned for his friend he silently made his way to her previous position. He stayed low as he peeked over the ledge.
“That’s right, just stand next to your friend. No reason to wander very far.” a man with a stupid looking helmet said smugly with his hand wrapped firmly around Kaminari’s neck. The idiot looked like he wasn't even aware of his position as a hostage, “Just stay there until we do what we came here to do. After that you’ll be free.”
The tone of that last word had implications dripping from it. Hitoshi looked over when he heard a scuff next to him. That blue haired lady was looking down at the situation with a deep frown, “Bastard. Innocent kids are off limits.” she growled under her breath. He saw her eyes travel from person to person before she said, “Listen kid, I’m going to help you save your friends. But you have to move away as soon as I evacuate them all okay?” Hitoshi nodded quickly. The woman took a deep breath, “Count to 5.” then she was gone in a puff of blue smoke and a bang
An echoing bang reverberated down in the main area of conflict. Hitoshi watched as the woman punched the Villain the second she appeared. It looked more like surprise than pain that caused the other to release his hostage. The woman put a hand on Kaminari’s shoulder before vanishing with another bang and returning next to Hitoshi. Over the next ten seconds she repeated the process until all three of his classmates were with him. The villain in the area below looked livid as he shouted at seemingly nothing, “Damn you Yo Yo! What the Hell do you think you’re doing!?”
“Run.” the woman, Yo Yo, snapped at all of them
No one waited to follow the order. They only got a few hundred feet away before a bolt of lightning struck the ground just behind Hitoshi’s feet. He went tumbling to the ground. His attempt to roll back onto his feet failed. Luckily Jiro was there to help him back to his feet as their enemy approached. They needn't have worried because Yo Yo vanished and reappeared once more. This time when she popped up in front of their enemy she did a solid roundhouse kick to his face. The man didn't even twitch when he hit the ground. Upon her return to his side he shot her a thumbs up. She snorted but continued toward the entrance of the building without a word.
Jiro didn't have any qualms about speaking however, “Who are you? Why are you helping us?”
“I do what I want. Just keep going.” was her answer. They finally left the rocky area and reached solid pavement. Just as they did the front door to the building blew in. All Might himself appeared at the top of the stairs. Hitoshi shivered at the look of rage on the Heroes face. But he couldn't tell if he was afraid or relieved. The quiet, “Shit.” from next to him let him know how Yo Yo felt though, “You kids go on. I have to regroup with my party.” she ran off without another word
“I wonder what her deal is.” Jiro muttered
“We can worry about that later.” Yaoyorozu said sternly, “We need to regroup with our friends as well. There is safety in numbers.”
They all ran until they met up with the group Hitoshi had seen in the water earlier. It consisted of Tsu, Kota, and Izuku. Supported between the three of them was the bloodied and beaten form of Fat Gum. While Kota and Tsu looked nervous Izuku looked like he was about to snap. He kept looking back at the courtyard where All Might was keeping the Villains busy. Hitoshi started to feel nervous when Izuku handed their teacher’s legs to Jiro. He had a right to be suspicious because the second Izuku was unencumbered he ran to join up with his personal hero. Hitoshi followed mostly on instinct. The calls from their classmates fell on deaf ears.
By the time they reached the open area the fight had become incredibly one sided. All Might appeared trapped. Hitoshi glared hard at the purple and black portal that was intended to be the Hero’s end. Before he could move forward Izuku was flying through the air. Hitoshi watched in horror as a new portal opened before his friend. Damn this fucking muzzle!
“DIE!” Hitoshi had never been more happy to see Bakugo. Shortly after Todoroki showed up along with Kirishima. Once All Might was free of the trap a long pause insues. Both sides were just staring at each other.
Then the bangs started. Everyone turned back up toward the front door staircase. Hitoshi was sure he was the only one smiling as the symbolic blond updo became visible. With a deadly smile his Pop called out to the sky, “KUROGIRI!!!!” even as he yelled more people began to appear with the help of Yo Yo. Most of them Hitoshi wasn't familiar with. But a few friendly faces were present. Chief among them being his Uncle Chad and Shuuichi. All Might looked so torn about what to do. Hitoshi sort of feels sorry for him. With another yell, this one more of a noise of action, Present Mic hopped up onto one of the hand rails and slid all the way down to the main area. The rest of the group ran down the stairs after him. Hitoshi saw his classmates form up, ready to fight the new threat. He knew better so relaxed and waited to see what would happen. A few yards away from the line drawn by the students the Void assembly paused. All eyes were focused on them. It was like no one dared to even breath. Eventually Present Mic looked over the heads of all the children and focused a bloodthirsty grin on the portal user, “Long time no see fog face. We need to talk.”
“This is not a good time Yamada Hizashi.” is Kurogiri’s stoic reply
“Ain't that just a crying shame.” the jovial tone had dropped as those standing behind him drew closer. Hitoshi could see they were all ready for a fight. Some were clearly eager for it. Present Mic ran a quick look over the gathered students. His eyes locked onto Hitoshi. Hitoshi didn't think his dad could manage to look even angrier. He was wrong, “So, it’s not just picking on kids. It’s hindering them too?”
“Sensei wants the brat.” the hand man cuts in snidely, “He’s trouble when he can talk. But you already know that right?”
“No one was talking to you freakazoid.” Shuuichi calls out defiantly from his place at Mic’s left
“No, let him flap his gums.” Present Mic pointed directly over the heads of the clearly confused students, “Go on, tell me more about this Sensei of yours. Or should we call him All For One? I need to know everything I can so I can crush him with Void’s might!”
“Hey kids.” all eyes fix on Chad who is offering a soft smile to the younger people gathered, “Can you move please? We don’t want to involve you if we can help it.”
“Afraid to hurt a few kids? What kind of Villains are you?” Mocked the hand covered man, clearly angry about being addressed with such disrespect
“The kind that doesn't need to pick on weaker opponents to feel superior.” Present Mic replied simply as All Might approached. The Sound Villain seemed unphased, “What up All Might. Mind moving those kids out of the way? We adults have a few things to talk about.”
“I’m not just going to let you have a fight in the middle of my school.” growled All Might as he moved to stand between the teens and Present Mic
“Oh, this isn't a fight Hero. This is War.”
