Hey Babe 😉

Summary:

When Gilthunder verifies whether Meliodas was really back, he didn't expect the aforementioned man to appear before him with the Knight's spear.

Notes:

There honestly needs to be more Meliodas/Gilthunder stories.

Work Text:

After throwing the spear towards the town of Vanya, Gilthunder turned and walked back to his throne, intent on waiting to see if the rumors were really true.

He remained expressionless even as the servant Knight's stood gaping at him in shock.

There were of no interest to him as he sat and waited for a response.

And if he received it, he would need to be on the move immediately lest the Sin evade him. He had a score to settle with Meliodas and no one would get in his way.

If they did, they would be dealt with shortly.

So as he waited, eyes fastened to the sky, he couldn't help the slight twinge of anger growing in his chest.

All these years… All these years with not an inkling of where the Sin of Wrath was bore fruit to the anger simmering inside or him.

When he got his hands on Meliodas, the man was going to wish that he was never born.

And thinking of, his eyes immediately grew alert when he saw a twinkle in the sky. Before he could react, the spear embedded itself centimeters away from his face leaving a trail dust and broken mortar in its wake.

Not to mention, he received a small cut to his cheek which was already bleeding.

Gilthunder didn't react much except to release a low chuckle.

"So you really are back… Meliodas."

The servant Knights remained shocked and kept looking around with lost expressions on their faces.

"You got that right!" replied a cheerful voice.

Gilthunder's eyes narrowed and he stood, brandishing his sword towards where the voice was coming from.

"You're here."

"That I am! I rode that spear of yours. Rather sturdy if I do say so myself." The dust finally cleared and there, sitting on a pile of rocks was a young, blonde boy. "Get a load of that body." he whistled and leered at a suited Gilthunder.

Gilthunder didn't react. "I see you're still using the appearance of a child."

Meliodas grinned and jumped down; he folded his arms and continued observing Gilthunder. "Yup! So what have you been doing? Miss me?"

In reply, Gilthunder simply charged the sword with his lightning. "Ready to die?"

"Nope!" Meliodas frowned thoughtfully at him. "Don't tell me that you're that mad to want to kill me?"

"You deserve death for your crimes."

Without another word, Gilthunder charged at him causing him to brandish his sword to protect him.

"Come on, Little Gil! Is this anyway to treat me?" Meliodas asked, ducking and jumping away from Gilthunder's lightning strikes. "You didn't miss me even a little bit?"

Not deigning to reply, Gilthunder only focused on trying to cut him in half.

Meliodas sighed and jump back and out of the ruins of Gilthunder's base until they were out in the open field. "Gil…" He looked the other man in the eyes and after seeing them narrow, he deflected the lightning attack headed his way with Full Counter.

But instead of directing the attack back at Gilthunder, he aimed to the ground and quickly jumped when the landscape broke into pieces, dust raising up and clouding the area from sight.

And taking advantage of the situation, Meliodas moved closer to Gilthunder until they were a hair's breadth away and leaned in even closer.

"Hey babe, you miss me?"

Gilthunder grunted noncommittally.

Not deterred, Meliodas bent his head and connected their lips in a chaste and well deserved yet desperate kiss which Gilthunder reciprocated before pulling away.

"I'll see you around, okay? I know you're mad but I'll explain another time. I love you." Without another word, Meliodas jumped back and ran away even as Gilthunder sent his lightning after him.

"Have to try harder than that, little Gil!" He laughed, dodging another attack.

Gilthunder remained stoic, but if you looked closer, you would see a barely there twinkle in his eyes.

'I'll hold you to that, Love.'
