Summary:

hoseok and yoongi fight and yoongi is sad.

Work Text:

It had been a week since they fought.

A week since Hoseok had stormed out of their shared apartment with tears in his eyes and a hole in his heart, leaving Yoongi to pick up the broken pieces of the broken vase that had been knocked over at some point in their screaming.

Now it was 4 o’clock in the afternoon and Yoongi was sitting down in the empty apartment. He had his head resting on the arm of the sofa, his legs on the cushion and tucked into him. He didn’t cry, no he had been doing that nonstop for the past few days. Instead he just lay there and stared ahead. He wasn’t sleepy nor was he hungry so he had nothing else to do but sit. Hoseok wasn’t there to fill the tiny apartment with his laughter or brighten the dark room with his smile. He wasn’t there to lay his head down on Yoongi’s shoulder and tell him how his day had gone or to run his hand through Yoongi’s hair while they had a movie playing on the T.V., not really watching, mostly just sitting there feeling content in each other’s presence.

Yoongi didn’t know what he was supposed to do. It was his day off work and yet he had nothing to do. He kind of wished he had work so he could have some sort of distraction to get him through the day. But here he was, sitting on the sofa at 4 in the afternoon, staring at nothing.

He turned on his phone to see if he had gotten any notifications from anybody hoping maybe Hoseok had called or texted him and he just hadn’t heard it. The only notification on his screen though was from his email telling him there was a 50% off sale at some store he had only subscribed to by email because he was too shy to tell the cashier that no he didn’t want to be notified about any store events. With a sigh, he swiped at the notification and clicked clear. As soon as the notification was off his screen Yoongi had a clear view of his lock screen picture. It was a picture he had taken of Hoseok while they were at the convenience store near their apartment complex. Hoseok had begged him to go with him because he was in the mood for a snack to eat since they had finished all of theirs and although it was nearing 2 o’clock in the morning Yoongi had agreed. The smile that had came from Hoseok with his agreement had made any sleep that was in him disappear and he had become excited for the little trip to the convenience store. When they had arrived Hoseok had practically skipped to the snack aisle and began searching for what he was in the mood for. It was when he had finally caught sight of what he wanted and his eyes brightened that Yoongi had snapped the picture.

Yoongi had seen his fair share of sunrises and sunsets. He had seen mixtures of colors he thought only the skies could make look so pretty. He used to think nothing could ever compare in beauty but standing there, at 2 am with Hoseok in a convenience store, holding a basket and ready to carry whatever snacks Hoseok was planning on buying he realized that Hoseok outshined every sunset and sunrise. Hoseok’s smile alone put the sun to shame. Yoongi felt blessed to be able to witness beauty like this and he looked at the picture for a couple more seconds before he decided it was his favorite picture in the world. He set it as his lock screen and turned his attention back to Hoseok.

Yoongi didn’t realize there were tears in his eyes as he stared at his phone screen and remembered that day. He didn’t bother to wipe them away as they began to fall down his cheek and onto the sofa.

“Seokseok,” he whispered at his phone, hoping somehow the man in the picture could hear him.

“Seokseok-ah.” He said it louder this time, a sob cracking through his voice. At this point his tears were pouring down his face and he watched as teardrops fell onto his screen.

“I miss you. Do you miss me too? I’m sorry for arguing with you. Please come back. This apartment is too empty without you. Sleep just doesn’t feel as good anymore when you’re not lying there next to me. Please come back Hoseok.”

He lay there with his phone in his hand, his phone screen turned off now, and closed his eyes. He tried to stop the tears that continued to flow but realized it was no use so he relaxed his eyelids and drifted off to sleep, the image of Hoseok still in his mind.
