As Long As I Shall Live

Summary:

Todoroki Shoto has gotten away with murder.

But of course, he would never murder without a good reason. His Izuku.

People just seem to get to close to his Izuku, and he can't stand that. He does everything in his power to make sure that his Izuku is safe. And if that means giving himself to the League of Villains, so be it.

-----

"This is your fault, Shoto."

Work Text:

My foot tapped on the leg of the table, as my mom sat with us, glaring at me. I simply ate, while Fuyumi and Natsuo sat in utter silence.

No one knew Touya was gone.

"So they've reopened the Enji case, huh?" Natsuo speaks, getting glares from me and mom. "I'm just saying."

Mom was taken into a mental hospital after his death, due to her claiming that I killed him. She was right, but none of the police believed that I could have killed my own father when I was only 10. How wrong they were.

"This is your fault, Shoto." My mother breaks the deafening silence.

"How so, mother?" I say, setting my chopsticks down.

"You killed him." She stood up, slamming her hands on the table, spilling the food. Fuyumi and Natsuo jumped, but I stayed still.

"You can't pretend you're not happy he's gone," I smirk. "You must admit, that was very daring of me."

"You are no son of mine."

I stand up. "That's fair. Am I a son of father's? Do I remind you of him? Am I brutal? Cruel?" My hands start to shake. "I am not him."

"Shoto-" Fuyumi starts, but my mother puts her hand up.

My mother stands up. "Leave this house."

"Haven't you heard? I can't. As this house is under investigation, none of us are allowed to leave unless you attack us." I smirk. "If I were to run out, you would be put into jail."

My mother sat back down.

I trapped Natsuo in ice suddenly, and he shivers.

"I never said I wouldn't attack them and blame it on you," I smirk, running out of the house.

"SHOTO!" My mother screams, but I keep running all the way to UA.

My Izuku stops me in the hallway, bringing me immediately into an empty class 1-A.

"Are you okay? Are you hurt? Scratched?" He rubbed down my arms, his hands shaking more than mine. I grabbed his hands, stopping him.

"Izuku." He stops, looking up at me. I smile shakily. "I'm fine."

He sighs, hugging me tight as the rest of our class files in, surrounding us. Tons of questions are thrown around, but everyone is silenced once Present Mic comes in and asks for me to come with him.

I follow him silently, as we head to Recovery Girl's office.

Recovery Girl checked him up, making sure there were no injuries.

"We did want to let you know we've found your brother." Recovery Girl casually mentioned. "He's stationed in the basement of UA. I can take you there since you're feeling okay. But you will have to defend yourself."

I nod, silent.

---

Dabi paces in the cell and as I walk up to it he stops.

"Todoroki Shouto. How nice to see you again."

"Todoroki Touya," I say, staring him right in the eyes. "Couldn't hide your identity for long, hm?"

"I was wondering when you'd find out," Dabi smirks. "Only took you-"

"Less than a year. I didn't just find out, Touya. It was easy."

Dabi scoffs. "So what?"

"So you aren't as sneaky as you think." I smile.

Dabi rolls his eyes.

"Why did you leave?" I sit down on the floor, heating it up slightly so it's bearable to sit on.

"You know how our father is." Dabi scoffs, also sitting down at the edge of the cell. "I ran away from him. I don't want to go home because of him."

"Father died when I was 10," I say calmly, and he blinks.

"Are you serious?" Dabi asked, gripping the bars. "He's dead? Who killed him?"

I sneaked a small look at the corner where Recovery Girl was standing, and she was gone. The room was empty except for me and Dabi.

"There are no cameras in here. I can't escape, though." Dabi whispered. "They've got no mics or cameras. I suppose they trust the bars."

I smile. "Perfect."

"Someone told me they haven't found out, but I can tell you know something." Touya leans in. "Tell me."

"I did," I say, my head held high. "I was also the one who killed Uraraka, Kirishima and Bakugou."

Touya leans back on his arms, eyes wide. He whistles, chuckling. "I would tell you to join the League but they fucking suck. Toga's just a maniac for that Midoriya boy."

"Is she now?"

"I would give you advice but you've clearly got it under control, seeing as it's been 6 years since Dad's death and they still haven't figured it out." Touya laughs.

My face is neutral when Aizawa-Sensei comes down the stairs.

"Todoroki, we've arranged a home for you to stay at while your family is being investigated." He said, eyeing Touya. "Please come with me."

I stand up, following Aizawa-Sensei out of the basement of UA.

Midoriya is standing out in the hallway, worry evident on his face. I smile softly at him, and he calms down. My heart skips a beat, I swear.

"You'll be staying with Midoriya here until your family situation has calmed down," Aizawa says, heading back into the classroom.

My face heated up, and Midoriya quickly pulling my face to his chest. He looked around the hallway, silent, before letting me go, his hands shaking.

"You have t-to stay with me, okay?" Midoriya says, his voice quivering. He was terrified beyond belief. "I d-don't want either of us to get hurt..."

I softly set my hand on his cheek. "I will protect you with my life, Midoriya."

"Izuku."

I tilt my head at him.

"Call me Izuku." He smiles, and my fire immediately activates.

He giggles, as I put it out quickly, not to alarm the sprinkler system.

"Aizawa-Sensei let us go home to get you some clothes and get you settled." He says as I follow him out of the door to UA.

----

"I'm sorry this has happened to you, Todorki." Inko smiles sadly. "I'm sure it'll get better soon, however. From what Izuku's told me, you're very strong."

"He's talked to you about me?" I ask, turning to her son.

Izuku's face is bright red, and he covers it. "Mooom!"

She giggles, putting the food on three plates.

"I haven't done this in a long time..." She smiles sadly. "Not since your father left me overseas."

I looked up at her.

"Mom, it's alright. C'mon Todoroki, I'll show you where you'll be staying!"

I headed after Izuku into his guest room.

Doing anything by my standards of productive was going to be difficult staying by Izuku's side, but it was all worth it in the end.

-----

"C'mon Shouto! Mom's gonna make soba tonight!" Izuku smiles, skipping down to UA as I follow along.

"No need to rush, Izuku." I smile slightly. "We're gonna be there on time."

Izuku laughs, dropping his pace back to mine. "I'm just glad you're back. Iida and I were really lonely." His carefree smile drops. "I miss Uraraka."

I set a hand on his shoulder and smile slightly.

He smiles back up at me, and we head into class.

---

My dream was haunted that night. I could hear Bakugou and Kirishima arguing in my head.

"I'm not fucking doing this, dumbass!" Bakugou growled. "It's fucking stupid!"

"Oh come on, we're ghosts now! We can haunt him if we want to! But sadly, only him. I don't know why."

"Cause I know your killer," I answer them, and they jump.

"Half-n-half bastard," Bakugou growled as he came up to me. "You are the absolute fucking worst."

I smirk. "Am I now?"

"You're the reason we're all here in the first place! Katsuki didn't even like Midoriya!"

"Hah?" Bakugou stared at Kirishima. "What the fuck are you talking about?"

"That's why Uraraka and I are dead. Because we got too close to Midoriya, according to him." Kirishima rolls his eyes.

"What the absolute FUCK?!" Bakugou yelled, phasing right through me. "Is that what this was fucking about?!"

I laugh. "It's funny that you can't actually attack me, but I can still go like this." My ice surrounds them, and they start to shiver violently.

I smirk, but Bakugou laughs.

"You're not hurting us, dipshit."

My ice shatters.

"Shouto, wake up! Please!"

My mind swam.

"You're having a nightmare!"

I started to heat up, knowing full well who I had hurt.

My hands shook, and I quickly sat up.

Izuku hugged me quickly, rubbing my back gently.

I hugged him back, tears falling down my cheeks.

"Shh, hey it's okay, Shouto." Izuku held me close, reassuring me. "What was your nightmare about, if you don't mind me asking."

"The killer came and attacked me in my dream..." I spurted out the quickest lie I could think of.

"Are you okay?" Izuku pressed his hand to the back of my neck, feeling my temperature.

"That's not going to help... And I'm fine, thanks. J-Just a little shaken." I wiped my eyes as he let go.

Izuku smiled softly at me, pushing my hair back a little to look at my face. His hand rests on my cheek, sighing quietly. He says nothing as he gently rubs my lips, feeling the little scratches caused by dehydration.

"It's gonna be okay." He whispers softly, and my entire left side heats up as my fire unconsciously activates.

"Shit shit shit shit!" I mumble, setting my right hand on my left cheek in an attempt to put it out.

Izuku laughs, pulling his hand back quickly so his hand doesn't burn.

Once the fire finally calms down, I sigh.

"Does that happen a lot when you're around me?" Izuku smirks.

I start stuttering nonsense, my brain working automatically.

Izuku laughs.

"Let's get back to sleep."

----

My brother had escaped.

I was part of the task force to get him back and find the headquarters of the League of Villains. And my job became 10 times easier when they kidnapped me to become part of their league.

I kept my mouth shut as they discussed what to do with me.

"He's too damn close to Izuku." Toga pouts. "Have you heard? He was in the same house! That's far too close!"

I kept silent. That little bitch had no idea who she was messing with.

"I'm telling you, he's a good candidate," Touya argues.

"A strong potential pro hero? Great idea, Dabi." Shigaraki rolls his eyes. "This is stupid. He's never-"

I chuckle. "Never going to listen to you? Never going to understand your viewpoint?"

Touya smirks triumphantly. "He knows more about how heroes are terrible than that Bakugou kid, who I told you was a bad idea."

Shigaraki scowls, coming up to me. "Do you?"

"Who do you think I got my powerful fire quirk from?" I quirk an eyebrow, smirking.

"The dead hero?" Shigaraki looks back at Touya. "The former number 2 hero?"

"My dad was absolute shit." I scowl. "He may have seemed like the number 2 hero on the outside, but he beat me and kept me from my siblings all my childhood. He forced my mother into insanity and neglected my other siblings."

Touya smirks again. "What did I tell you?"

"And how would you know about this beforehand?" Toga asks, and I almost have to force myself not to grit my teeth at her voice.

"How the fuck do you think, little shit? He's my younger brother."

The entire league is shocked, while I only chuckle.

"It would be hard to see with his dyed hair, and I can understand where you're coming from. But honestly, I expected better of the League of Villains."

They all turn to me.

"But honestly, there are better things to do with your time."

----

{Rare Midoriya POV}

I frantically paced the halls of UA, my mind racing with possibilities.

The one time I left him, he got himself kidnapped. This is all my fault. They're probably going to kill him.

All Might set a hand on my shoulder, snapping me out of my obsessive thoughts. "We need your help."

He brought me into the meeting room, and suddenly all eyes were on me.

"Sit down, Midoriya. We'll go over the plan."

----

{Still your little cinnamon roll}

I stood in front of the supposedly abandoned warehouse, hearing the sounds of loud arguing. Dabi was definitely in there, and I could hear Toga's squeaky voice arguing as well.

I sighed quietly, knocking on the door.

The fighting stops.

"I have the feeling of deja vu." Dabi points out.

"Answer the door, would you?" Shouto groans. "Just get it over with!"

Toga opens the door, and I wave calmly, a small smile on my face.

"Hi."

"Izuku." Shouto breathes out, surprised to see me at the door.

Toga stares at me for a long while, before setting a hand gently on my cheek.

"Please don't touch me," I say, picking her up and throwing her into the room.

Shouto laughs, smiling as I've never seen him smile before.

I smile. "You'll have to excuse my rudeness, I'm just here to get him back." I point to Shouto, a smile ever present.

"He can actually bend the bars if he needs to, so you pick." Shouto shrugs.

Dabi sighs. "Come visit again, little bro." He lets Shouto out of the shackles, and he walks right over to me.

"Oh, I will," Shouto says, heading over to me and eyeing Toga.

"Let's get going!" I smile. "Mom is making soba, remember?"

I shut the door behind us.

----

"That was the easiest rescue ever!" I jump, laughing.

Shouto smiles. "Mostly because none of them wanted to hurt you."

I giggle.

[Back to Shouto]

I was still surprised that Izuku hadn't picked up on the fact that Touya called me his little brother.

Izuku kept blabbering on, not even realizing I'm watching him. His lips were pink, and his tongue ran over them as he talked, wetting his lips so they weren't chapped.

Izuku took a breath and looked over at me a smiled.

I blinked, finally realizing I was staring very intently at his lips.

Izuku smiled, setting a hand on my cheek.

"God... I love you so much." I whisper, pulling his body closer to mine.

His smile fades into a small blush on his face, his mouth opens slightly as I pull his lips to mine.

---

I slam open the door to the League of Villain's hideout, practically announcing my presence.

To my surprise, they were still here, just finishing packing everything up.

"Great to see you guys again."

"Told you guys he'd be back," Touya smirks, staring over at Toga.

"I don't owe you shit." She says, picking up her bags.

"You're not giving anything anymore," I say, quickly trapping her in ice. "In fact, you're not going to exist anymore."

The villains all stood frozen, except for Touya, terrified at the sight.

"I hope you like blood because yours is going to be everywhere after I'm through with you."

I started squeezing the ice slowly as Toga struggled to get out. I saw her change into the damn slut and immediately squeezed her until neck exploded.

I smirked as even my brother's eyes widened, and I was thankful I didn't have to worry about any witnesses, cause villains wouldn't go to the police.

"Do not mess with me or anyone in my class, or this will be you. Understand?" I headed out of the building, smirking.

---

"Shou!" Izuku cries, coming back from his hero duties. "I th-thought I saw Kacchan out on patrol today.."

"You must really miss him, huh?" I say, setting my hand on his cheek. "I don't blame you, love."

He sighs. "It's okay. I just wish I could have done something more, is all. They still don't know who killed him."

"The villain has probably long left Japan, love. I'm glad we're out of the country so we could possibly look for them if you want."

Izuku nods. "I would like that a lot. Thanks, Shou."

"That's what husbands are for, isn't it?"
