Summary
“So,” Dean prepares to summarize. “You’re saying that we have to sneak into a god party, with a god-killing weapon, and kill a god, without getting killed by any of his god friends before, during, or after.”
Set right at the end of 9x02, Dean makes one different decision: to go after Cas right away. The difficult thing is, Sam’s resident angel refuses to let Cas anywhere near him, so not only does Dean have to find Cas on his own, he also has to buy some time to figure out what to do afterward without raising any red flags.
A case -- that’s the ticket. They’ll take a few days and work a case. That’ll give him plenty of time to figure out what to do.
