Summary
The Good Hunter gives Annalise a ring. She knows what it’s meant to mean – a symbol of a blood contract, permitted only to those slated to bear a special child – but the child is stillborn and someone must fix this mess, or there will be only more of this: more blood, more stolen, broken women and more endless lingering nights.
So instead, it is a declaration. She will ascend. She will become the child.
Annalise knows damn well what the gesture means. But she would not see it lead to her knight’s ruin.
