Work Text:

All Might is gone. True, he passed a few years prior, but it still feels as if the pillar of hope, although lost many years ago, has finally completely disappeared. Sure, the new and upcoming pro-Deku is the number one hero, but how does he even begin to compare himself to All Might. The pillar always was able to smile when things got bad and has saved hundreds of thousands of lives while Deku has only saved a few hundred. The man graduated with high hopes from his peers that, obviously, he, the hero Ground Zero, and Shoto, would be the top three pro heroes in Japan, but what good have they done. Very little progress has been made and only a small percentage of crime has gone down. Villains still roam the streets of Japan and although, yes, Deku tries his hardest, he did not earn the number one spot on his own and had help from the fallen pillar himself. The man stands on a throne of lies built up by those around him and he makes those below him bow to something he did not build himself. He has no right to claim the title number one pro hero and has no right to have. He has begun to crack under the pressure the media has put on him and seems to be losing his mind. He wishes to be a star and shined bright for only a short amount of time before he began to burn out.

And I continued to do so until now. Because things will be changing.

Whether anybody wants it to or not.

I hope you all know, from now on, I never mean well and I can't help but help myself. Because I was the number one pro hero, I’m was branded with dollar-sign shaped scars and was in a special kind of hell. I no longer wish to be a hero, for I can no longer take the pressure of being number one. Expected to smile in even the worst kinds of situations and the fact that the media believes that they can take more than they can give.

I know this is not something many expected to hear, but all the voices in my head are finally making some sense and Stain was also right. I had trouble finding a way out, but I have finally done it.

So now, if you kneel before me, you now kneel before a villain whose throne is made but by his own hands and your knees will be nothing but red.
