Summary
XV Century. The country is under the Papacy of an ignorant ruler, or so believes his right arm. Vegeta the Fourth, one of the most influential and inflexible clergymen of his time, is set on dethroning the profligate ruler.
In order to keep Vegeta at arm's length from his court the Pope orders him to take care of the Prisoners of The White Tower, where he meets a young college student who has been sentenced to life imprisonment due to his beliefs.
Fate, however, has a different plan for the two of them.
