Work Text:
It's too late for that shit, Shouta decides, when he simply ignores Hizashi's calls and walks out the dorm door, hiding his face under the capture gun. It's too late to argue, it's too late to fight Hizashi about fucking children, Shouta already has children, he has twenty of them.
They are not your children, an annoying little voice, strangely similar to Hizashi's, whispers in the back of your mind.
In any case, Shouta already has to take care of twenty children, being almost absolutely sure that at least four of them are having problems at home, he simply has no time to think about tidying up his own children.
Because, you see, he kicked out the whole class from the previous year and the current one has already suffered two villain attacks and some seriously injured themselves, like iida and Midoriya, damn, Bakugou was kidnapped. And it all happened while he was supposed to take care of these kids, no matter how well they took care of him, he was supposed to take care of them, but apparently he was failing that. He can barely take care of children who are not his own, imagine his own children?
It's too late for this shit. But he at least hopes it's not too late for his marriage to Hizashi.
They have been in this confrontation for almost six months. Hizashi wants a son, Shouta says no. Sometimes it seems like they are discussing whether or not they have a cat, according to Nemuri, which is unfair considering the two cats they already have.
Shouta should stop thinking about it.
He doesn't go very far after practically runaway of the AU. Since the whole dormitory thing happened, Shouta barely had time to be Eraserhead, becoming full-time Aizawa-sensei, which makes him rethink half his life choices. And, to his near sadness, in the middle of the makeshift patrol, a few drops fall on him, announcing the rain, taking a dramatic sigh from him. This does not prevent it, however.
The nimble, skillful shadow leaps from building to building, silent footsteps roaming the rooftops. The night calm, too calm, it always gives Shouta a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach, tightens his bowels. There is nothing going on. There is the rain that starts strong and ruthless, there is the strong wind, there is the sound of horns, there are voices, there is the child in the alley below, there is a ...
Wait.
His eyes turn to the alley between the building he was in and what appears to be a marketplace, at almost superhuman speed. It's a child, its brain registers lethargically after a few seconds. A child trying to protect himself from the rain under an awning that is honestly not doing the necessary work.
He jumps out of the building, using the capture weapon to land on the ground without making a lot of noise, and then slowly approaches the child.
They are wet, huddled against the wall. They look like shit.
"You look like shit, kid." He says and almost laughs when the child jumps with his voice and tries to punch him, but doesn't, because that's a pretty obvious sign that something isn't right. "Wow, calm down child, I won't hurt you."
"Aizawa-sensei?"
It's Shouta's turn to get scared, with Midoriya Izuku's voice sounding scared as hell.
Honestly, it's too late for this shit.
.
Shouta knows he should have taken Midoriya to the nearest police station, as he would any abuse case or a child running away from home, but this is not any case, this is one of his students. It's Midoriya, whose smile rivals All Might. This boy is sunshine, even someone like Shouta has to admit.
He doesn't take Izuku to the AU dorms either. His classmates would be there and Shouta is 98% sure that the boy doesn't want to be seen in this state and, well, Hizashi is there and all Shouta doesn't want at the moment is to find his husband. Then he takes Midoriya to his own apartment. There is a bitter taste in their mouth when they step into the apartment, it takes Shouta three seconds to realize that it is guilt, guilt for being there without Hizashi, just to avoid the blonde. He doesn't stop a sigh, he has to stop thinking about Hizashi, he has a wounded and traumatized child to take care of.
"Okay, problem child." Shouta turns to the boy sitting on the edge of the toilet. He absolutely dislikes the way Izuku cringes, hearing the nickname. He sighs, lowering his tone. "I'm going to clean this bruise, you're going to take a shower and change, then I'm going to bandage and then you're going to give me explanations, are we understood?"
He also doesn't like how Izuku automatically agrees. Izuku usually does not argue when Shouta gives his orders, but there is always determination behind each look and nod. This time fear shines in the greenish eyes. Oh, Shouta is visiting Izuku's mother the next day, accompanied by Nedzu and All Might, he decides.
The hero sighs, approaching the boy with gauze and antiseptic. Shouta does a quick job cleaning the boy's thigh cut and looking for other injuries on his body, his stomach tightening every time he discovers a new injury or sees a scar that he knows was not caused by the boy's carelessness about his peculiarity. Shouta has to take a deep breath and prevent himself from going to Midoriya Inko and killing the woman when he asks Izuku to take off his shirt and puts his eyes on the boy's wrists. Kami, he wants to commit a crime so badly. He finishes cleaning what he can and comes out of the bathroom to get a dry suit, which turns out to be too short for himself and a Hizashi sweatshirt, he leaves them in the bathroom and leaves, ignoring how mortified Izuku seems to be.
His first action out of the bathroom is to pick up the phone and press Nedzu's name harder than necessary. The mammal responds on the first ring as expected. Apparently the AU principal doesn't know the word sleep.
"Aizawa! To what do I owe the honor so late at night ?!" The usual happiness is there and as always, Shouta can't help but shudder internally.
"What did you get about Midoriya?" Aizawa makes the effort to keep his voice neutral, hearing a wicked giggle coming from the other end of the phone. He can't help but smile, knowing full well what it means, since he and Nedzu have long been collecting evidence against the abusive parents of Midoriya, Todoroki, Bakugou and Shinsou.
"Oh, Shouta, everything." His smile grows bigger, hearing the director call him by his first name.
Ah, Midoriya Inko is so fucked
