Work Text:
Mina and Ochako have been dating for two years, and living together for one. Their apartment was a modest one-bedroom - after all, Mina knew her girlfriend did it all for her parents and respected that. Mina, of course, picked out all the decor, and paid for it herself. Living together was a journey - so many new experiences and things to get used to. Daily routines gradually synched up, after much coraling, and sleep schedules had to be coordinated. When she lived alone, Mina would stay up to odd hours every morning, while Ochako was quite firm on her bedtime. Neither of them were particularly good at tidying up, but after a year of practice they managed to work things out by splitting up the housework. ( Ochako would never deem it an appropriate reason to spend money, but on occasion when she earned a bonus, Mina would hire a maid to get the place back into shape. Ochako would pout, but at the end of the day a clean apartment is a clean apartment, and neither really had the time to do it themselves during busy seasons.)
You and me between the sheets
It just doesn't get better than this
Mina was a very deep sleeper, and so was Ochako, which was very fortunate as they both snored when exhausted. And with a hero lifestyle, they were always exhausted. Recently, however, Mina has become an early riser for one very specific reason: the sight of her snoozing girlfriend in the early morning light. She swears she is the luckiest person in the world in those early minutes before their alarm clock goes off and she gets to see such a rare sight of her beloved so vulnerable and at peace before the day starts.
The many windswept yellow stickies of my mind
Are the molten emotional front line
I couldn't care less I'm transfixed in this absolute bliss
It’s been a rough week for the pair of them. Villain attacks always seem to surge during the holiday season, and particularly in busy shopping areas where plenty of civilians have flocked to purchase food for big dinners with family and gifts to exchange. It has been rare for them to be home at the same time this past month, but last night they were finally both able to have the whole evening off for a date night. Mina got dizzy thinking of her long, long to-do list and people she still had to buy presents for, but when she was with Ochako, seeing her smile and laugh over dinner and talk about the crazy things they’ve seen at work the past week, made all her cares evaporate. Chores and appointments be damned, she was determined to enjoy her first evening off with her girlfriend in weeks.
Their date had been simply marvelous, nothing too crazy but they each had received a holiday bonus, so Mina took Ochako to the hibachi place she’d been eyeing.
“How’d you know I’ve been wanting to come here?” A surprised Ochako had exclaimed when Mina revealed where she had booked reservations for them.
“A girl’s got to have some secrets,” she replied slyly, pressing a finger to her lips. She received a shove for that, but it was worth it, no doubt about it.
Sweet sleepless, tumbling night
Oh, and the morning on your skin and loved up light
They had slept so well that night, buzzed on wine from dinner and drunk on each other’s company. Ochako usually took up most of the bed when she slept, sprawled out like an octopus (which Mina found so adorbs!!) but after spending the evening wrapped up in each other, Mina woke up wrapped in Ochako’s arms. A quiet snore breaks the quiet of the room and Mina struggles to stifle a giggle. Chestnut hair sprawled all across the pillow and over those precious cheeks. Mina savors the disarray and shifts gently as possible to brush the hair out of Ochako’s face. Ochako stirs at the touch, but continues to snooze on.
Tracing patterns in the maze of your back
Softly, softly the goose bumps like that
And then a kiss…
Ochako awakens to lips upon her forehead in a soft kiss. Her eyes flutter open to see a pink chest, and then the glowing, happy face of her girlfriend. She yawns. “G’mornin, Mina.” Then, a shiver as Mina rakes her nails along her back. Ochako briefly stretches out her neck, then snuggles in closer to Mina, head resting on her chest and closes her eyes.
Her new pillow vibrates as Mina chuckles, a sound that is music to Ochako’s ears - she could never tire of hearing it. “You’re such a sleepy head, sweetheart!”
Ochako’s voice is muffled as she mumbles out “Who’re you calling a sweetheart, sweetie pie?” and squeezes her arms tighter around her partner.
“Why, you of course, sugar plum,” Mina chides and pats her girlfriend’s hair, giving another forehead kiss.
Maybe another,
And another one
Ochako leans back to look Mina in the eyes, those playful eyes that always seem to know what she’s thinking. “Is that so, sweet pea?” They both burst into giggles at the pet name, leaning back into the pillows as they laugh. After a time, the laughter subsides, and delicate lips meet softly once, then move together more and more fervently. Each kiss is longer than the last, and soon Mina is laying on top of Ochako. Hands run down her sides, exploring and caressing -
Until Ochako’s alarm startles them both and Mina nearly falls off the bed.
“Ah! Silence, you fiend!” Mina cries as she blindly reaches for the phone. She manages to silence the alarm, and they lay back, Mina’s arm behind Ochako’s shoulders. “Gahhh, do you really have to go meet with Midoriya this morning? We could just stay in bed all morning, have a little fun…”
Ochako gives Mina a peck on the cheek, and rolls off the bed. “As delightful as that sounds, truly, I must be off.” She blows a kiss to her girlfriend, and leaves to get ready. Mina sinks into the pillows, without a care.
I love that girl.
