Work Text:
Ochaco, ever since she had met Izuku, had always admired the boy and his kind, yet strong exterior.
Everyone who has ever interacted with him had grown mentally and he seemed to have such a profound effect on the people around him. She could think of many examples.
She recalled the time he had saved Todoroki and made him realize that he was his own person. Numerous upon numerous occasions. He made Shinsou realize that your quirk doesn't define you as a person, He helped ease Aoyama's insecurities, and he even made Bakugou try to better himself as a person and as a hero after their fight.
Everyone can see how the boy had a golden heart. However, the one person who seemed to still have doubts on his abilities seemed to be Izuku himself.
She'd realized how he still had the unfortunate habit of putting himself down and while she admired his humbleness, she believed he had more than enough leverage to lord himself over his classmates.
Most people she knew would have expected something in return if they had helped someone in need. However, Izuku just valued their friendship and didn't seem to care for anything materialistic.
She wanted- no, NEEDED him to realize his worth. She knew that he dealt with insecurities but she wanted to be someone who could ease those away.
He was her best friend, and perhaps she felt he was something more.
All she knew was that it was about time Izuku had realized his worth and value to the people around him. She would just have to find out a reason how.
And so, on the morning of an early December day, she had asked Izuku to meet her in front of the entrance to the dorms. Her plan was in place. During the weekend, Izuku had decided to visit his mother to see how she was holding up without her one and only son. She used this to her advantage.
As he approached the entrance, she made a little small talk with him, then took his hand and pulled him into the dorms.
All Izuku remembered that day was the color of her beautiful hazel eyes and the tingling feeling on his lips.
