Work Text:
There is nothing better than waking up next to the person you love. A common thought process that goes through the minds of many people who have found their better halves.
If you'd ask Izuku what he'd thought of that quote 10 years ago, he'd probably scoff at the idea that someone would ever feel that way about him. Then again, Izuku was 10 and never interacted with a female besides his own mother. His rather plain appearance and unfortunate quirklessness along with his shy nature certainly didn't do him any favors with the girls. So, he may have been a little biased when it came to stuff like that.
Now, at age 20, Izuku had finally realized what it felt like to have a love. Throughout the adventure known as high school, he had found someone who pushed him to be the best person/hero he could be. She was a strong person with features and silly little quirks unique to only herself.
As he lay in bed and reminisced on his high school days, he turned and leveled his gaze on the person snoring softly on his chest. He took in the ruffled appearance her hair had taken on after a night of rest and also the ever present blush adorned on her face.
At this moment, realization hit him that this was actually his life. He had been blessed with a strong quirk and people around him who'd been the catalyst into fueling his drive of saving others with a smile.
He wanted to protect those smiles. However, no other smile was as precious to him than the one that his girlfriend Ochaco flashes him everytime he came home.
That's right.
He was Home.
As he felt his eyes growing heavier and heavier, he took one last look at the bag he had situated next to the counter a couple feet away from his bed. In that bag was a gift that he'd planned on putting on her finger in a couple of hours. With a smile, he let his eyes close and fell back into a slumber.
