Work Text:

In the eyes of many, Izuku and Ochaco were the examples of a perfect relationship. The two seemed to always get along and they'd rarely ever disagree with what the other said. There was no doubt that the two were very much in love.

However, no relationship will ever prosper without the usual bumps in the road. Which is why right now, Izuku was currently sleeping on the couch instead of in the bed with his girlfriend.

While on patrol earlier, the two had encountered a somewhat formidable villain. Usually, the duo would defeat their adversaries with relative ease and very rarely would a battle of theirs ever drag on beyond a few minutes.

While Izuku had certainly improved his abilities since his first year, he was still prone to the little bump and bruise on his body every now and then; much to his girlfriend's dismay.

Tonight was one such occasion, however the injury was much more severe than a minor bruise. In the fight, Izuku had powered up a 1000% Detroit Smash which sent the villain into a world of hurt but also him as well.

He would often leave fights relatively unscathed and hadn't had a major injury since his 3rd year in the final fight against Shigaraki and the League Of Villains.

This villain was certainly well below the caliber of the League Of Villains, but he was still able to make the young rising hero Deku use of his more powerful moves to defeat him.

While it certainly was in his realm of capability, Deku's unfamiliarity with the move had left him with a dislocated shoulder. He was certainly progressing but he wasn't there quite yet. It would take a little bit of time for him to be able to use a move like that on a consistent basis.

After getting treated at the hospital and getting his shoulder back in place, the two had opted to walk back to their apartment since it was only a couple blocks away.

Ochaco hated this habit of Izuku's.

Everyone around him disliked how Izuku would sometimes glady sacrifice his own body and go overboard in his fights. However, none more so than Ochaco. She had put up with her boyfriend injuring himself since they were 15, but now, she'd just about had enough.

She finally put her foot down and demanded that he stop hurting himself. This led to an argument between the two with Izuku arguing that he'd do whatever it took to make sure she was safe.

Honestly, he was a great boyfriend, but couldn't he understand that she was plenty strong enough and didn't need him to watch over her 24/7?

So, as soon as they got home, she kicked him off the bed and ordered him to sleep on the couch until he'd promise to her that he'd stop putting his body past its limit.

Obviously, Izuku was insistent on his stance. This led to him getting their bedroom door slammed in his face.

Begrudgingly, Izuku confronted her the next day and said that he would try his hardest to stop pushing himself past his limit, albeit he stated that he couldn't make any promises.

While this wasn't the answer that Ochaco had wanted, she came to accept that it was just in his nature and she'd have to put up with it. She signed up for this after she decided on dating him after all.

With a sigh, she reached out her arms and pulled him into a warm embrace.

On the bright side, he did say he'd try and she even offered him a special type of apology for kicking him out as she pulled him into their bedroom.
