Work Text:

“Come on! Just do it already!” Bakugou argued, throwing his arms up. (Y/N) continued to lean against the wall, a calm expression plastered on her face, though internally was a raging war.

“I already said no…” she mumbled, scratching her cheek. Her (e/c) orbs were sealed from sight, eyelids closed, a light yawn leaving her lips. The night before had been a long one, some meeting with the two worlds having taking place, the run time being roughly a few hours.

“And why the hell not!” the blond continued to yell, trying to understand. It wouldn’t be the first time the conversation topic was this one, Bakugou wanting to live with his lover for eternity. To be immortal like she was.

The two had met back in their first year at UA, both in Class 1-A and training to be heroes. What originally caught the explosive boy’s attention was her ‘quirk’. Bright, shining white wings, those that many compared to those of an angels. But that was just it, she is an angel, sent down to live a mostly human life on Earth.

Back then (Y/N) kept to herself, observing and understanding the ways of other human’s lives. The (h/c) haired angel found that life was a lot like the one back in heaven. There was school, restaurants, currency, rows of homes… only difference were the people.

Especially Katsuki Bakugou.

How he seemingly was always angry at everyone and everything, his attitude towards others, the amount of determination he puts into training and academics. What really intrigued her though were those piercing red eyes of his, ones that shine so bright like gems when the sun or moon light hit them just right. It’s like nothing she had ever seen before. They were simply breathtaking…

Both of their curiosities overlapped, causing more time to be spent with each other and a bond to form between the two, which later formed something new and something strong.

It was about a year into their relationship when the secret was revealed to Bakugou, the trust having been built over that span of time. Without a doubt (Y/N) was incredibly worried, what would her lover think of her then? Would he want to leave her? Would he try to kill her? Torture her? You could imagine the relief that she felt when Bakugou accepted her for who she is.

Now graduated and heroes 6 years later, both at the age of 23, the real hurtle is here.

“It could kill you Katsuki… the procedure to make you immortal is dangerous. I don’t want to lose you…” the female said sadly, moving off the wall. Steps were taken towards the agitated male, (Y/N) wrapping her arms around Bakugou’s neck, his own traveling around her waist on instinct.

“I don’t give a damn! I just… want to be with you…” his eyes and voice softened, trailing off at the end into barely a whisper. His grip around her tighten by a fraction, face burying itself into her hair, the smell that he’s grown so familiar with invading his senses. A smell he never wants to witness disappear, one he never wants to give up or give away.

“As do I… but what if… we just lived a regular, human, life?” she questioned. The blond stilled, raising an eyebrow.

“We? How the hell is that possible, you’re an other worldly being, there’s no 'normal’ in that!” (Y/N) unhooked her arms from around him, stepping back enough to look up at him, though she left a hand on his chest. She sighed deeply, brushing some of her hair out of her face.

“There’s…” she started, wondering if continuing is a good choice. This alternative option would allow Bakugou to keep something he won’t know he’s lost until it’s too late. Taking a final deep breath, (Y/N) shut her eyes and continued.

“There’s this ritual that can be done to eradicate the angle part of me… making me mortal like you…” shock filled her blond lover, his ruby eyes widening. There’s such a thing as that? Why was this never mentioned to him? Before he could talk, (Y/N) started up again.

“The only reason I bring this up is so you don’t make a mistake. Becoming immortal isn’t just as simple as black and white, there’s a grey space too. If you were to be immortal, what about those around you? Your parents, friends? Every so often you’d need to change your name, stay hidden, move locations, fake your death! Katsuki I… I don’t want you to throw away something so beautiful as a life that has a beginning and an end…”

Tears that she didn’t know were forming slid down her cheeks, staining them in emotion. Bakugou stared. Whenever he could, he thought a lot about everything she listed, the risks that would need to be taken, the ache he’d feel leaving the ones he cares about.

But… when it comes from her lips, the terms and conditions involved and with such sadness and desperation in her voice?

Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to live a mortal life with her.

So maybe, now, his chose has changed… for the better.
