Work Text:

Hizashi sat up, pushing the sheets back, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. Beside him, the bed moved, the only indication that Shota was stirring.
He looked over with a smile, the shape of his husband blurry. He felt his throat vibrate as he told him good morning, his own voice muffled, like his ears were stuffed with cotton, or as if he was underwater.

He didn’t hear the reply, or see it, as he wasn’t wearing either his hearing aids or his glasses at the moment.

He leaned over and kissed Shota on the cheek, and just knew the other had made a face.
Probably had made some rude remark, too, most likely something about how his breath stunk.
He then turned to his nightstand, grappling for the two things that made his life a whole lot easier.

Finding his glasses, he rubbed them against his shirt to clean them, a habit Shota yelled at him about a lot, and slipped them on.
It only took another few seconds to put his hearing aids in and adjust them, and he turned to face his husband.

“Finally, I can talk to you normally, now,” Shota smirked in an amused tone, and Hizashi smacked him lightly.
“It’s not my fault I’m blind as a bat, and deaf as a….” He frowned, struggling to find an animal to compare his hearing problem to.

“A log?” The other man offered, earning another slap to the shoulder. “Keep hitting me, and I’m not sharing my coffee with you anymore."

Hizashi stuck his tongue out at him. “Not likely. You love me.”

“Regrettably,” Shota quipped, and Hizashi gave a mock-gasp.
“SHOTA.”

“Hizashi.”

The blond back down, stretching out beside the other,  tangling his legs with his. “What do you want to do today?”
It was so odd, hearing his own voice sometimes. He’d gotten so used to just feeling himself talk, rather than hearing, and now most things sounded off, including himself.

“Sleep,” Came the immediate reply, and Hizashi grinned.

“Lazybones.”

“Loudmouth.”

Shota slid closer, draping himself over the blond, who grumbled at his weight.

“Excuse me?” The raven-haired man huffed.

“I didn’t say anything,” Hizashi said innocently, and Shota snorted. “Sure you didn’t.” He adjusted himself so Hizashi was taking the full brunt of his body weight, and the blond whined.

 “Shota, off!”

“No.”

“Off!!”

“I don’t want to.”

“SHOTA.”

“Hizashi.”

Hizashi pushed at him, swearing. He wasn’t nearly as ripped as the raven-haired man, but he wasn’t weak either, managing to push him halfway off him before Shota decided to cheat, and shifted back to where he was crushing him again, leaving him breathless.

“I will burst your eardrums if you don’t get off me.”
“Am I supposed to feel threatened?”

HIzashi growled under his breath, slowly wriggling out from under his husband. Only to be dragged back, and flopped back down on the bed, now face down, with Shota lying on top of him, warm and solid.  “You’re not going anywhere. We’re sleeping.”

The blond groaned and sighed, trying not to laugh.  giving up. “Fine, you win.”

Shota nuzzled into his shoulder, and he could feel his smirk.
After a moment, he let Hizashi up, the blond curling into his side. Hizashi took the opportunity to kiss him. “Jerk.”

Shota just snickered.
