   Summary

   Spock takes the lead in this first-time version. He makes arrangements for shore leave and does everything he can to see if Kirk will admit feelings that Spock hopes he has. Spock remembers (from the scene in “The Naked Time”) how Kirk mourns a beach to walk on. Disregards all movies, so perhaps AU. Told from Kirk’s POV it is not clear to Kirk how much effort Spock has expended on this endeavor for quite a while.
