Summary:

Just a glimpse into Eijun and Chris' relationship

Notes:

Work Text:

The one thing that Eijun looked forward to every morning was Chris’ bedhead. He had grown used to seeing Chris with his slicked back hair, only the two front curls out of place on his otherwise perfect hairstyle. When they had first started dating Eijun had always seen Chris completely put together. Chris took pride in his appearance and the only time he might be even a bit messy was after baseball practice.

So when Chris spent the night one evening and woke up the next day, Eijun could hardly believe his eyes. Chris’ hair was even more messy than his! He had probably deserved the chop to the head after he had pointed and laughed at Chris’ hair for a good minute, but it had been worth it.

Now they were living together and Chris was more and more comfortable around him. Every now and then Eijun would still giggle at the massive mess Chris’ hair was in the morning, and at one point he ran running commentary over the disaster.

“You know, I hear you talking but I still don’t have my coffee.”

That was per the course in the mornings as well. Chris could function quite normally without coffee, he just didn’t like to. Eijun never was a coffee drinker, preferring tea instead, so he didn’t quite understand the need for caffeine. That, and Eijun was naturally energetic and was a complete morning person, whereas Chris was definitely not.

When Eijun had first tried to get Chris up at five in the morning for an energizing jog, the older man had shot him quite the venomous glare. Eijun stopped asking him to join after that.

Chris also preferred a more American-style breakfast as opposed to traditional Japanese, claiming that the three bowls of rice at Seidou at every meal had made him hate rice in the mornings. Eijun didn’t care either way, and since Chris was the one that cooked more he was happy with whatever he got.

Eijun also found that Chris had a lot of beauty products. He owned gels, sprays, colognes, moisturizers, and all sorts of other things. The most Eijun owned was toothpaste, and that was a necessity. He recently acquired a cologne bottle. They had gone shopping for his birthday and picked it out together. Whenever he wore it Chris would hold him tightly and constantly sniff at his neck. (Eijun wore it as much as he could)

All in all their life together was like any other couples. Eijun would handle the cleaning up for the most part, Chris the cooking, and they would both go shopping. Baseball ate quite a bit of their time, their dates would consist of new restaurants and sometimes they would walk through a park holding hands. They debated about getting a pet, but with their busy schedules had decided against it for the time being. Their holidays and birthdays were always special and they made sure to have time for their friends and family.

There wasn’t much more Eijun could hope to want and Chris’ morning bedhead was just the icing on the cake.

End.
