“This ain’t about who you are, though, is it?” Callum shook his head, bit his lip to keep from screaming. He tried to use his hands to convey the message clearly, wishing he knew how. “Nah, this was you trying to prove something. To show the world you’re still big bad Ben Mitchell, even when your hearing’s gone.”
Ben looked thrown by that. Like he hadn’t even realized that’s what it was until Callum spelled it out for him.
“… and because of that, you got reckless.” He continued. “Stupid. A-and you got caught for it.”
