Work Text:

Shinsou had been roped into doing a lot of dumb shit by his "friends" in class 2A, but this had to take the cake for stupidest thing he's ever attempted.

Attempting to confess to his crushes, that is. His crushes that were already dating. Dating each other.

Out of all the people to take advice from, why am I doing what Ashido suggested?! he asked himself for the tenth time in the past twenty minutes. Her rather...proactive suggestion echoing in his mind.

He was standing outside the 2A commons room, feeling more and more like a creep every second that went by. He could hear Kaminari's loud infectious laughter echo from the room, and the uneven thumping of his heart finally spurred him to move.

Kaminari, along with Tokoyami, Mina, and Kirishima, were all lazing about, idle chatter bouncing through the room. As soon as she saw him, Mina's yellow and black eyes turned amused, as if to say, So you had enough guts after all!

"Eiji, why don't we take a walk? I could use some fresh air!" She said loudly, interrupting any conversation that might have been going on. Kirishima looked momentarily confused, but he was like a puppy following its owner when it came to Mina. They were gone quickly.

Kami whispered to Tokoyami in a hushed voice, a crease between his eyebrows. Tokoyami only shrugged in response to whatever it was he said, otherwise silent as Kaminari lounged across his legs.

A soft, nagging voice in the back of Shinsou's head pointed out that they looked pretty content without him, but he then reminded himself of his objective: I have to at least try.

Shinsou's footsteps were usually very quiet, but he made a point as he walked in the room to make them as loud as he possibly could to get the other two guy's attention.

Kami noticed first, head popping up over the back of the couch to greet Shinsou with a grin. "Shinsou, my man!" Tokoyami gave a small nod in greeting, otherwise letting Kaminari talk.

"Hey." The violet haired student managed to reply back, sitting himself down on the couch opposite them.

"Come to hang out with us?” Kami asked, his voice excited as he bounced like a toddler.

"I thought I might as well. Not the worst company in the world." Shinsou said, shrugging slightly.

"I'll take that as a compliment!" Kami said victoriously.

"You're just very easy to please." Tokoyami said in amusement, voice quiet, but fond.

Kaminari pouted, and Shinsou couldn't help but snort in amusement at the blonde's expense. "He's not wrong. It's not necessarily a bad thing, though." Hitoshi assured him.

"Fine, fine." Kami said, before sitting up from his lounging position. "We were planning to go out in a bit, get some stuff for Valentine's Day. Did you want to come, Shinsou?" The blonde offered, innocently enough.

A flush crawled up his face briefly as he nodded. "Sure. But, I, uh… have something for you two before we go." He dug around in his pocket for a moment, before offering the two of them an envelope. Kami took it, scanning it curiously. There was a shaky doodle of raven with lightning surrounding it on the front, and the blonde resisted the urge to snicker. That's so cute!

Being careful not to rip the drawing, he flipped it open, pulling out a card that looked handmade. Not cheaply done or rushed either. The handwriting inside was neat, almost elegant.

I met you. I liked you. I love you.

I fell in love with you both because of all the small things you don’t even realize you’re doing.

Whenever I feel like giving up, I think of you two, your determination, and it keeps me going.

I never believed in luck before, but something about the way I feel, I don't know how else to describe it. I’m lucky to have met you.

I’m a better person because of you.

To me, you two are perfect.

And if someday, I could take you both on a date, that’d be the happiest day of my life.

"Is this…?" Kaminari asked in surprise, fingers clenching around the paper, but not tight enough to rip or wrinkle it.

"It is." Hitoshi confirmed, blushing a bit as he stared at his shoes.

There was the sound of Kaminari getting up from the couch, and his sock-clad feet entered Shinsou's vision with how close he was.

"Did you… mean all that?" He asked quietly, seeming so lost for a moment. It was almost strange, compared to his normal demeanor.

"I wouldn't have put it in there if I hadn't." He said, eyes sharpening as he looked up to meet Kaminari's gaze.

"I believe you." Tokoyami said, his quiet voice surprising both of them. "I don't think you're the type who would do something like this as a prank, either, so…"

"I'm really not." Shinsou said with a dry laugh.

"You really wanna date us? It isn't just…?" Kaminari started to ask something, trailing off halfway through, teeth denting into his lower lip.

Hitoshi sighed, getting to his feet so he could properly look at the blonde. His hands gently came up to Kami's face, thumb running over his cheek. "Listen, I'll say it as many times as I need to for you to believe me. I'm serious about this. About both of you." He said, eyes moving to Tokoyami as he finished speaking, who had gotten to his feet. Pressing a hand to the small of Kami's back, the dark shadow quirk user's voice was soothing when he spoke.

"I see no reason why we can't at least give us, all of us, a try."

Kami seemed to melt under both of their hands, a smile finally coming to his face. "If you're sure, yeah...I'd love that." He said softly, leaning against Shinsou while his other arm was wrapped around Tokoyami.

"Good boy…" Shinsou said softly, a pleased smile on his face.

A shiver ran down Kaminari's spine at those words. A shiver that had nothing to do with the temperature of the dorms.

About 30 minutes later, the three of them were standing in front of a store shelf filled with different kinds of chocolates, Kaminari debating on which to get.

Shinsou and Tokoyami sat back and watched him fondly, Tokoyami leaning ever so slightly into the taller boys side.

“You know, I didn’t actually think you guys would say yes.” Shinsou said softly, watching Kaminari with that same fond expression as he wrapped an arm around Tokoyami.

"Why's that?" Toko asked him, an almost confused inflection entering his voice momentarily before it disappeared.

"Well, you...I guess you just looked plenty content without me, I guess." Shinsou grunted, repeating his thoughts from earlier.

"Just because something's already pretty good, doesn't mean it can't get even better." Tokoyami said with a slight shrug.

Shinsou blinked in surprise, staring at him for a moment before stifling soft laughter into Toko's shoulder. "I suppose you're right." He finally agreed when he calmed down enough to speak.

"Right about what?" Kaminari asked, tilting his head cutely as he came back over, arms filled with enough chocolate and sugar to give someone ten cavities.

"It's nothing important." Tokoyami answered. Kaminari pouted at the lackluster response, but otherwise didn't comment. He instead dumped his sugar haul in the basket Tokoyami had grabbed, knowing they'd need it. Despite Kaminari's promise of not wanting to get that much, he knew the blonde better than that.

Shinsou clicked his tongue softly. "Please tell me you'll eat something besides chocolate for the next week." He sounded like a disappointed parent who had to remind a child they couldn’t live off sugar alone.

Kaminari grinned brightly. "Well, if you want me to eat healthier, you'll just have to make me something!" He said, puffing out his chest, causing Shinsou's violet eyes to flicker in amusement.

"Should I take that as a challenge?" He asked, raising an eyebrow as a smirk stretched out on his face.

"Knowing him, it was, in a way." Tokoyami said, much to Kaminari's chagrin, shrugging a bit against Shinsou's side.

"I'll be sure to make you guys something then." The violet haired boy promised as they headed back to the front of the store to check out. "Any requests?"

The question sparked an excited glint in Kaminari’s eyes, and he proceeded to list off his favorite foods. Most of them were non-traditional Japanese dishes, or Western-style dishes. Shinsou had to stifle a snort of amusement when he asked Kaminari what his all time favorite was. The blonde paused, then just said “hamburgers” with a nod. Despite his neutral expression, Shinsou was mentally making a list of everything he said, knowing full well he’d eventually make each for him. And when the two of them turned on Tokoyami to ask his opinion, he only shrugged and said that he was fine with anything.

When they returned to the dorms, Shinsou immediately headed for the kitchen, shooing his two crushes-- boyfriends? Were they technically dating now?! Into the sitting space and to the couch while he cooked. He ended up making more hamburgers than they would eat in one sitting, wrapping the extras up for later. Sticking his head around the corner to announce that the food was done to Tokoyami and Kaminari, it only took a moment for him to be barreled into by a blonde blur in a hug. “Thank you, Shinsou!” Kami cheered before releasing him to run to the counter where the food was laid out.

“It smells so good!” Kaminari practically had stars in his eyes as he piled food onto his plate, almost drooling at the appetizing smell. Shinsou couldn’t help but smile, and there was a quiet chuckle from Tokoyami as he prepared his own food, the violet-haired student following behind to get some too.

The three of them settled on the couch with their food, Tokoyami curled into Shinsou’s side, with Shinsou’s arm around his shoulders, while Kaminari lounged across both their legs with his plate like he’d done to Tokoyami earlier. They had pulled up some random romantic comedy, but none of them were really paying attention to the screen.

“You better not make a mess.” Shinsou grunted at Kaminari, eyes bored, but his voice was teasing. Kaminari pouted around his mouth full of food, speaking once he’d swallowed.

“As long as you guys don’t move, I won’t make a mess!” He promised. Suddenly, a mischievous glint entered Kaminari’s eyes, causing Shinsou to blanch inwardly.  Oh no, what is he planning?

The blonde carefully set his plate on the floor before sitting up, surprising Shinsou when he leaned in and pressed a kiss to his cheek, a soft murmur of thanks accompanying it, before he crawled over his lap so he could give Tokoyami the same affectionate treatment. Shinsou very much could not control the blush that came to his face, and a whine escaped him as he curled in on himself in embarrassment, hands over his face.

“Aww, as cute as you being embarrassed is, I don’t want you to hide!” Kaminari said teasingly, and Shinsou could hear the smirk in his voice.

“You might as well get used to this. He’s usually a very affectionate person.” Shinsou looked back up at Tokoyami’s amused words, to where Kaminari had plopped into the Dark Shadow user’s lap, Toko’s arms around him. The blonde stretched his legs out so that his calves and feet were in Shinsou’s lap, wiggling his toes.

“I’m going to die.” Shinsou simply said, resigning himself to his fate. He brought his hands up to rub circles into the curve of Kaminari’s foot, a smirk tugging at the corner of his mouth, even if he tried to fight it.

“Going to die from being too gay?” Kami teased him, even as he sighed in contentment from the soothing motions of Shinsou’s hands, moving to rest his head on Tokoyami’s shoulder.

“Oh, shut it.” Shinsou griped, without any heat.

But he’s right. Shinsou thought to himself. I’m well past the point of no return. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Notes:

Thank you guys for reading! And I’m so sorry if Tokoyami seemed OOC, I have never written him before and I honestly had no idea what I was doing lol

In retrospect, I probably should have read some fics with Toko before hand, but 1) the laze is real, and 2) the urge to read BakuDeku is too strong. Guess I’ll just perish.

Again, thanks for reading! UwU
