What happens when the concept of a compliment drives someone to the edge? Is it possible for one singular compliment to be the difference between life and death? Is it really that important to let your friends know that you appreciate them? How do you tell when you've taken a joke too far? Have you ever considered how important a simple compliment can be? How powerful a compliment can be on a bad day?
What happens when there are no compliments to look back on? Nothing to look to when feeling hopeless and alone, no words of encouragement. What's left?

He just can’t take it, as he stares into the mirror and cannot shake the disgust at whatever miserable excuse for a person is staring back at him. He wants to throw something at his reflection, shatter the mirror and go somewhere that the person he sees won’t follow him, but he can’t. He doesn’t think a place like that exists, and not for someone like him.
He just wants to disappear.
