Work Text:
Shouto had no idea how people came to the conclusion that he and Momo were dating. Sure, they were good friends and always stuck together. But they were also like siblings, just born in different families. Or as Momo loved to tease him - platonic soulmates. They were really close without anything romantic between them. So while they shared a strong bond and were together all the time there was one small issue with the dating theory, they were both gay.
Maybe for outsiders, their behavior looked like they were a die-hard couple. Shouto never minded when Momo spontaneously decided to drag him shopping; dressed him in the clothes she designed; painted his nails using him as a test dummy or just, in general, took him outside so he won’t be isolated in his room with a bunch of books and projects, in a too-big house with too little people to feel comfortable. Shouto always appreciated that.
Being around people was nice but he was too socially awkward to reach it by himself. Momo never judged him for his lack of social skills, instead, she was constantly judging him for his awkwardness and unreasonable love for freckles. She knew his family situation too well. She knew about Touya and Shouto's deepest fears, so teasing about family was out of the question.
So it was no surprise when, once again, Momo barged to Shouto's room and dragged him to her mansion.
"We need to get ready, Shou!" Momo urged with an excited giggle. On the bed was a sprawl of various outfits all with a punkish theme.
Her girlfriend - Jirou, had a concert. Shouto just wanted his friend to be happy so he went along with the women's insistence to dress up. Momo had a habit of trying to make him look as stylish and stand out as possible no matter the occasion.
After one of their first outings together Shouto was banned from picking his outfits. They were too plain for Momo tastes and as a friend and model of a promising designer, he should dress better. His only objection was having to part with his comfy clothes.
When Momo was done with everything, Shouto must admit that he looked... interesting may be a good word to describe it. His long mess of two-toned hair was brushed into a stylish side braid, and Momo had put a touch of makeup to make his heterochromatic eyes pop and some concealer to make his scar less noticeable. At least his outfit wasn't extravagant, a plain shredded t-shirt that was fitted to his torso, dark washed grunge jeans, and a rather nice looking leather jacket. In general, edgy look. His eldest brother would be swelling in pride.
They were nearing the end of their preparation and Shouto figured he had escaped one of their little rituals until Momo brought out a box of nail polish. He always opposed, but deep down he and Momo knew that he really enjoyed having his nails painted. Momo couldn't decide which color to use on herself so Shouto was, once again, her blank canvas. The wine red color he got, in the end, wasn’t bad. It suited him.
Momo was always dressed like a queen. It was a look that suited her regal aura, so why not emphasize it further? This time she went for punk edition. Momo was born to wear red, and the short fitted dress looked magnificent on her. Paired with a pair of black boots and she was already killing it. It was the dark crimson sleeveless long coat that elevated the ensemble, especially with the high collar.
Shouto couldn't help but whistle when she saw her in the full costume. He was gay but he also had eyes and when he saw beauty, he couldn’t help but admire it.
~o~o~o~
It was already late into the night by the time they arrived at a small club with a line nearly around the block. Momo waved off her chauffeur promising to call him when they were ready before turning to the red-haired bouncer at the door. Shouto’s eyes lazily scanned over the crowd seeing they were dressed similarly though not nearly as nice. Part of him felt overdressed for the occasion but brushed it off as his friend approached the bouncer. They flashed their badges and IDs and that was all they needed to bypass the line.
Once over the threshold, everything grew much darker with only flashes of overhead light streaking through a cloud of fog. The smell of sweat, smoke, and alcohol hung heavily in the air. Bodies were packed together, moving in waves through a sea of people. Music shook the foundation and lead the mass as a live band performed on stage. The crowd thinned out closer to the bar but was almost claustrophobic just staring at it all.
“I think I see my princess! Try to keep up!” was all Momo called before she slipped into the crowd.
Shouto attempted to follow but as they dove deeper into the crowd it became impossible. With a sigh, he gave up and waded through the people. A feeling of loss started to creep up as he realized he might be completely out of his depth. Clubs were never his thing. Too noisy and crowded. But he was stuck there for the moment, so he surrendered to just wander around awkwardly.
It didn’t take long before someone called out for him. Well, as close as “Pretty Boy” can be to addressing him. Being polite he answered the friendly voices. He should be more skeptical, kept his guard up with all of the warnings his parents always spouted off. But after the stress from his week and already being on edge, he just wanted to let go for once. The group was nice, most likely overly drunk and feeding off the energy of the room. Before he knew it they were pulling him into their group shots and who was Shouto to decline free drinks? It wasn’t his first time drinking, though the burning alcohol quickly informed him this was a far reach from the wine his family normally drank.
He lost count after the fourth glass of something sweet. A gift from a stranger who really wanted to hug him. It was weird but Shouto’s social filter was malfunctioning.
The world was spinning, colors were mixing and a warm funny feeling washed over him.
At some point, he moved away from the group deciding to dive into the swarm of people and join in the dancing. Free from care he just moved with the music acting more on impulse than any real logic.
There was a lull in the music as the next band was getting ready. He couldn't spot Momo. He pursed his lips slightly in realizing his friend was still lost. Shouto continued to dance as the new band played but after a few songs started to feel tired. How long had he already been there? Time had blurred together like the colors flashing around him.
Shouto made it through two songs and that was enough for him. When he stopped moving, the contents of his belly continued to dance. The young man started to sway and stumble to stay on his feet as he tried to get out of the crowd. Suddenly there were hands on him. Glazed mismatched eyes lifted to a blurred face as the room kept swimming. The person at least seemed to be helping to keep him upright but no sooner did he take a few steps did the hands begin to wander. He felt someone squeeze his ass and promptly yelped attempting to bat the hand away but missed horribly.
That was enough.
Shouto tried to go outside. To escape the noise and people. He managed to squirm away but the world was tilting, ground uneven beneath his feet as everything became suffocating. He felt someone’s hands on him again, sneaking their way around his body, under his clothes. Harsh and possessive. A violent twist of nausea rocked Shouto’s stomach and he quickly expelled the contents of his stomach.
Suddenly the awful hands disappeared. The waves around him parted and he could breathe easier. He tried to move towards a lit corner but his vision was starting to fade fast. All Shouto remembered before he lost consciousness were kind, strong hands, bright green eyes and smile so warm that it could rival the sun.
~o~o~o~
Shouto didn't know how long he slept, enough for the sun to light up his room. Uncaring of the time he remained in bed. The sheets were so nice, so warm, he felt safe tangled in them.
Then came the second thoughts. His sheets were satin. They were always cold and silky. Never warm and soft. He opened his eyes and sat too fast. A groan escaped him as his head started to swim and a throbbing headache kicked in at full force. He flopped back with his eyes closed. Safely buried under the comfy cover he waited for everything to die down once more. The second approach to wake up was much better. Though, it didn’t ease panic slowly rising within him.
He didn't know where he was. A quick glance around only made him more concerned. He was alone, in an unfamiliar bedroom. His shirt was gone, his trousers were gone. He was only in his briefs.
His breaths started to come short as he remembered glimpses from the night before with doubled force. Flashing lights, swirling scenery, a multitude of people looking at him like he was something to devour. The hands he didn't want to touch him, but wouldn’t stop.
Shouto was normally a calm man but that was quickly giving way to panic.
Desperate for answers, he looked around the room until he noticed a note on a night table. He grabbed it and started reading.
Please, don’t panic
Take a few deep breaths
You are safe
No one did anything to you
Was the first words that greeted Shouto in a cranky cursive. As instructed, he took a few deep breaths while hugging the sheets around him protectively.
You are wondering what happened and where you are, right?
“No shit Sherlock,” Shouto grumbled but continued reading.
You are in a spare bedroom of the Midoriya Inn. It’s a few meters to Yanagi station and it will take you around 5 minutes to reach the city center. You weren’t in the state to be left alone. I think one of your drink might have been drugged. Someone was trying to leave with you but you were fighting back. You may not remember but I stepped in. I tried to call your friends but none of them were answering. You were unable to tell me your address so I didn’t order you a taxi.
Too many thoughts had crossed Shouto’s mind. He was glad that the stranger didn’t make sure that Shouto was sent home. It would be a bigger disaster than he was in now.
Ok, Shouto got a glimpse of the situation but it didn’t explain the other things. Where was his phone? What happened to his clothes?
You are worried about your things, right?
Stranger’s words met his concerns again.
Your phone is under the second pillow. Your watch is on the nightstand. Behind the lamp. You may not notice it at first. As for your clothes… You vomited on them. I put them into the washing machine. I’m sorry about undressing you. I also undid your braid, it didn't look like the most comfortable hairstyle. Our dryer isn’t the best so your clothes might still be damp when you wake up. You can borrow some pants and hoodie from the drawer marked with a pink sticky note.
It was weird but was also oddly calming. The man who left him that letter seemed like a nice person. Although, a tad creepy.
Shouto got up on shaky legs and gathered his stuff. He was grateful for undoing his hair. He would have a worse headache otherwise. Momo always braided his hair really tight. It looked good but was uncomfortable in the long run.
Oh hell, where was Momo? Why didn’t she answer? Did something happen to her as well? More panicked questions started to swirl in Shouto’s mind but took a few deep breaths and tried to work through things logically.
One problem at a time.
He slid his hand under the pillow and found his phone. Upon powering it on he cringed. 25 missed calls, 10 voice messages, and 14 text messages. All from Momo with a few from his sister.
Taking another deep breath, Shouto texted Momo to inform her that he is still alive and safe. It was only 8 am so the girl was probably still asleep. He really hoped that she was just with Jirou at the concert and got home safe.
With that part handled he moved to check the contents of the drawer. It was full of comfy clothes. He took the first hoodie and pants he could find. Pants were a bit short for him and a hoodie was too big. His savior must be broad. Shouto gulped. He was weak for men with that build. Momo always teased him for that.
Pushing away more flustering thoughts he picked up the note again and finished reading.
You are wondering what to do now, right?
I advise you to drink that water on the nightstand. Across from you is the bathroom, you are free to take a shower. There is a towel on a washing machine that is fresh for your use.
If you go downstairs you can meet my mom who runs the inn. She will most likely be happy to make breakfast for you.
We will probably not see each other because I normally go to the fish market early in the morning. If you turn this paper, you have a wifi password and a map of the surroundings in case you want to double-check.
You can also sneak without talking with anyone, but before you do, drink the water and take a shower. It will help you feel much better.
Midoriya Izuku
Shouto gulped. The stranger, no Midoriya, was caring so much that it made his inside squeeze. He could count people who cared for him on one hand and still have some spots left.
The bottle of water looked inviting, so Shouto decided to trust Midoriya and drink it. His throat was demanding some consolation after yesterday’s adventures. Like a refreshing rain on a parched desert, the water worked to ease his immense thirst. He down nearly the entire bottle in one go.
Taking a shower was the next step. It felt utterly awkward to do something so intimate in a stranger’s house. However given the options of being clean or wreaking of vomit, sweat, and alcohol on the way back home, the choice was simple.
With his clothes packed into a bag and “thank you” note left in Midoriya’s bedroom, Shouto attempted to sneak around unnoticed, unfortunately, he was almost immediately spotted. The woman was short and a bit pudgy with long forest green hair tied in a messy bun. She had kind eyes and a warm smile.
“Oh! You are the boy Izuku saved from the club! How are you feeling? You must be hungry. Come, I will cook something for you,” Shouto was gently dragged and sat down at a table. Before he knew it he was seated towards the back of a large dining hall near the kitchen.
“Em… Sorry, but I should go…” Shouto tried miserably.
“Nonsense, you can go after you eat. Probably better than passing out while in transit, right? Is omurice okay?”
Shouto just nodded. The woman looked nice and welcoming but he had a feeling that he should not argue with her. A quiet hush fell over the space as Shouto looked around. He took in the quiet homey atmosphere before picking up on the traditional aspects of the building. He looked to be in a very nice ryokan.
A few other families were gathered towards the front of the dining hall. Children happily chatting away as parents doted on them. A quiet couple sat in a corner enjoying their breakfast while reading papers. A couple of older teens clambered down the stairs towards the front, calling their farewells as they left for their adventures.
It was all so welcoming cozy, perfect for a nice getaway.
“Tell me, what’s your name?”
The young man blinked a few times before realizing he was being spoken too. “I’m Shouto.”
“What a pretty name.”
“Thank you.”
“Does it happen to you often?”
“Ee… What?”
The woman chuckled, mirth glowing in her eyes. “ Getting drunk enough that some strangers need to save you and take you home.”
Heat flared across Shouto’s face as he looked down wanting nothing more than to hide out of sheer embarrassment. ” N-no miss Midoriya… it’s the first time.”
“No worries. We were all young and dumb at some point. Mistakes are made and the important part is that you weren't hurt and you learn from this experience.”
“T-true…”
“And you can call me Inko by the way.”
“Oh, I uh… thank you…”
“No problem. Oh, and the food is almost ready.”
Within a few minutes, a plate of delicious food was set before him. It looked like it was taken straight out from a magazine. His stomach gave a loud rumble which earned a chuckle from the woman. While Shouto was eating, Inko tried to talk with him more. With every gentle question, it was easier to open up. The woman wasn’t angry with him but was instead curious. Shouto slowly warmed up to her and started to enjoy chatting with her until it got to an embarrassing point when his looks were complimented.
“Inko, I feel like I overstayed my welcome. I need to go home and show my friend that I’m alive.”
“It was a pleasure to meet you, Shouto.”
“Thank you so much for taking care of me, your Inn is lovely.” He complimented before starting to take his leave. The woman just waved with a warm smile and Shouto started to feel a little better about how his night ended.
Shouto fumbled with his phone as he neared the exit when he collided with something, or rather someone.
“My bad, I didn’t notice you,” a stranger with bright green eyes apologized to him.
Shouto gulped remembering those eyes. It was Midoriya. That Midoriya. The man who saved him and the son of the nicest woman Shouto have ever met.
Without saying anything Shouto fled.
He wasn't ready to face him.
~o~o~o~
Travel home felt like the so-called walk of shame. Shouto felt bad. It was the first time he got so wasted he didn't return to a familiar place for the night. He wasn't as wild as his eldest brother Touya to get this behavior excused. And if said brother decided to grace Todoroki household with his presence Shoto was doomed. He would not only be teased for blacking out but also for sleeping in a stranger' s house. Unironically it would be much better than facing his father with his fiery fury.
The gods were merciful and Momo was the first to greet Shouto in the morning. Before he crossed into the right street to his house, the delicate but firm hold of his best friend was on his elbow.
"The official version is that you slept in my place," she hissed dragging Shouto in the opposite direction.
"Oh… Okay. I like that version," Shouto smiled at his friend.
Before anyone else could see the two Momo whisked them away to the safety of her room where there were fewer prying eyes and ears. As soon as the doors were closed she leaned against them for a second with a heavy sigh. Shouto noticed a familiar punkish girl in the room who sat at a sizable table enjoying tea. As they made eye contact Shouto offered an awkward wave.
Jirou just gave a small smile, “Glad to see you’re alright!”
“Ah yeah…” Shouto muttered.
“You are impossible, you know that?” Momo huffed as she moved to sit beside her girlfriend and pour another cup of tea.
“What can I say,” Shouto shrugged.
“That you won’t let it happen again. I was calling you all night when I didn’t see you at the club. What happened? Also what happened to your clothes?!”
Shouto took a deep breath before collapsing into the free seat, “To be honest half the night was a blur, but…”
He told her everything he could remember. Losing her in the crowd, watching the band, being offered free drinks and taking up the offers. Which made both women facepalm. He explained how everything became a blur but people were trying to grab him. A few phantom shudders ran up his spine but he quickly suppressed that part of the night and quickly moved onto the very interesting morning.
“Okay, so you're telling me that someone tried to drug you by giving you free drinks and you were saved by a charming bouncer. Whom you, after crashing into, were too afraid to talk to, so you ran away?” Momo asked from behind a cup of lavender tea.
“Momo, you forgot the part about having casual chat with the mother of his prince in shining armor and that Shou is in his clothes and has a major crush for that man,” Jirou chimed in.
“Ah, right, thanks love.”
“Em… Yes?” Shouto tried.
“You are unbelievable, you know that?”
“I panicked, okay? And now I don't know what to do.”
“Easy there pretty boy, that’s why we are here. I already sent a message to some people I know who may be familiar with your Midoriya.”
“He is not mine, Jirou.”
“Yet,” both girls smiled.
~o~o~o~
It turned out that many people recognized and knew Midoriya Izuku.
First of all, Jirou knew the man well enough from the many times he helped their band set up for gigs. He showed up early most times just to lend a hand and move heavy equipment. She could only say nice things about him like how the man was a kind ball of sunshine who always went above and beyond for his friends.
Jirou also knew the other bouncer from the club - Kirishima Eijirou, who not only worked with Midoriya but they also frequented the same Gym. Thanks to that manly friendship Shouto gathered some piece of information about Midoriya. Like how he was extremely fit and had energy for days. He also had two jobs, one as a bouncer and the other at the family Inn.
Surprisingly, the drummer from Jirou’s band - Bakugou Katsuki, knew Midoriya personally. They were childhood friends. Katsuki admitted that Midoriya, or as he dubbed him - Deku, was a good guy. He loved to act like a hero and made it a habit of saving a lot of drunk people. Shouto was just his most recent show of his kindness.
Then there was the friend of makeup artist that usually helped Jirou before concerts who also knew Midoriya. Inasa Yoarashi, the name that made Shouto cringe, recently repaired the air conditioning in Midoriya’s Inn spoke very nicely about Midoriya. He also supplied a screenshot that his friend Camie provided.
Then there was the small note of how Izuku had freckles all over his body. Shouto didn’t want to know how Iida’s girlfriend knew that.
As more tibbits of information were filling the picture of Midoriya, Shouto was falling for the man more and more.
~o~o~o~
Before Shouto could gather enough courage to visit the bar, Momo went to see the mystery man for herself, with Jirou to help bridge the gap. Midoriya Izuku was nicer than ever and even showed concern over Shouto. Upon hearing that he was safe and sound Midoriya gave a huge grin. Momo made sure to snap a photo of it. Needless to say, Shouto had saved it.
He was also incredibly jealous that he wasn’t able to see that glorious smile by himself. It was the final push that helped him gather enough courage to apologize to Midoriya and finally return his clothes. He went to visit the bar. The friendly bouncer, Kirishima, filled Shouto that Midoriya wasn’t working that day.
With an address to the Inn in hand, Shouto tipped the bouncer and caught a taxi. The trip was uneventful but nerve-wracking. He nervously bounced his leg in the back seat trying not to let his nerves get the better of him. Momo would never let him live it down if he chickened out.
~o~o~o~
The taxi pulled up to a homey looking Inn and Shouto could tell it was a lively night. Upon entering he noticed almost every table was occupied. People were laughing and watching a baseball match together. A bubbly girl with brown hair spotted him by the door and Shouto recognized her as Ochako - Iida’s girlfriend. She gave a bright and cheery greeting before ushering him to sit on the table near the counter.
“Izuku wondered if you would show yourself again. I called dibs that you would! Deku will be on cloud nine!” The bubbly brunette giggled.
Shouto stared with owlish eyes unsure of how to reply to this. Dealing with overly cheerful people was not his forte. So instead he just gave a polite nod and accepted the offered menu. Once alone he gave a small sigh and glanced around but saw no sign of his savior. With no luck, Shouto turned to the menu in hand figuring the least he could do was order something for everything they did for him before.
He was so focused on choosing a dish to order that he didn’t hear someone ask to sit with him. A stranger helped himself. Unfortunately, it wasn’t Midoriya. They had a similar build and hairstyle, though it was black instead of green. Not bad looking but he definitely lacked the cheerful charm Midoriya exuded. Nor did he have freckles.
“Would you like a drink?” The mystery man offered with a smile.
Shouto hesitated a moment remembering the last time he was offered one but shook it off. This looked to be a much safer place. With a much different crowd. Plus he could use some liquid courage to face Midoriya.
“Sure…”
“Great!” The man made an order before drawing Shouto into some small talk. The order came back fast and Shouto barely registered when he emptied the first glass. The drink was sweet enough that the hot burn of alcohol in the back of the throat was unnoticeable.
The stranger just stared at him a moment before his grin grew. Without asking another round was ordered. After the third Shouto started to feel a bit of deja vu. His fears were confirmed when said stranger started to play footsie with him.
Shouto jumped from his chair and collided with a strong body. The man behind him chuckled and caught Shouto gently in his arms.
“You know, you don’t need to get drunk just to see me,” a voice rasped straight into Shouto’s ear. It sent shivers all over his body.
The tipsy man quickly looked back to see none other than Midoriya in all of his golden glory, though that could be the glow of the lights around them. His eyes shined with a bit of mirth as Shouto openly stared, a blush no doubt staining his cheeks. After a second the bouncer turned his gaze to the stranger who had been buying Shouto drinks. A green brow was quirked as his eyes turned more critical, a light of something dangerous lurking in the verdant depths.
“Shindo, could you not flirt with random people when your girlfriend is on a delegation? Especially if you are just trying to get them sloshed.”
The stranger, Shindo, put his hands up in defeat and shrugged. Without another word he left a few banknotes and exited quickly. It was weird, to say the least. Yet at the same time, Shouto felt safe in Midoriya’s arms.
“Are you okay?”
“I.. yeah, thanks for saving me again.” The heat across Shouto’s face increased.
“No problem!” Midoriya grinned his whole face lighting up making Shouto’s heart skip a beat. Midoriya looked around until he spotted the waitress from before, “Ocha, I need a short break. I will be back in a few.”
“Sure thing, Deku!”
Emerald eyes turned towards Shouto once more, “Do you… want to talk?”
“Yes!”
Midoriya laughed in reply and released Shouto from his hold. He offered his hand instead. Shouto took it quickly. His traitorous heart was beating so fast from something so simple. He fell too deep.
Shouto followed along obediently as Midoriya led them into the very same room Shouto woke up to weeks before. Much to his dismay Midoriya released his hand and sat on the bed. Shouto, socially awkward as always, remained standing and fidgeted with the bag containing the clothes he wanted to return. He was desperate to find a nice line to start the conversation but nothing came to his mind. He was worse than a teenager. Where was that alcohol courage when he needed it the most?
“You can sit, I don’t bite,” Midoriya smiled at him, patting the bedding beside him.
Before Shouto could stop himself he blurted out, “What if I want you to?”
“Oh?” Midoriya quirked his eyebrow. “ I can work with that.”
“No… shit, sorry. I-I panicked.” Shouto paused and took a few deep breaths. “Let’s start again… Thank you for that night. I also brought your clothes back. They are already washed. Sorry that I took them hostage for so long.”
“It’s okay, no need to panic. Did they suit you?”
“The top was too big and the trousers were a bit too short,” Shouto was glad for a nice change of topic. He gave the bag to Midoriya and sat on the bed opposite him.
“What a waste, I didn’t have a chance to look at you properly when you fled that morning.”
“I panicked, okay?”
“Why did you panic?”
“Em…”
“Easy, there’s no need to answer me, I just got curious.”
“Your mother started complimenting me…”
“That’s it?”
“Aside from the shame of waking up in a stranger's room, yeah.”
“Fair,” Midoriya smiled at him. “But, well, I think that you shouldn’t run away from being complimented. You are really pretty.”
“You think so? Well… you're not so bad looking either.” Shouto added ogling his interlocutor. The man was indeed broad and very muscular, with a crown of curly clover locks that looked so soft Shouto itched to run his hands through them. What was the most captivating was his eyes and the adorable collection of freckles adorning his tanned skin. He was almost too good to be true!
“Thank you,” Midoriya chuckled a bit, face aglow with a rosy hue. “I know I asked your friend but… You were okay after that night right?”
“Yeah, just a bit hungover and well yeah shame. But I guess it was a learning experience.” Shouto fidgeted with bedspread nervously.
Midoriya quirked a brow, “So did you just need a repeat lesson or-”
“No! No, I just… was nervous and figured it would help.”
“My comment from earlier still stands. You also really shouldn’t accept drinks from strangers regardless of your surroundings.” An almost somber tone entered his voice, “It can be really dangerous, especially for the really good looking people.”
“I-I know,” Shouto stammered feeling more awkward. “Ah, hah, I guess… you have a point. I’m guessing you have had this issue as well then?”
Midoriya stifled a laugh, “Not quite. Drinking isn’t my thing. I’ve seen the state it puts people in and I rather stay in control.”
“Fair…” Shouto nodded before tilting his head slightly, “So… why do you do it? Not that I’m ungrateful! I just… your kind of opening yourself to a lot of risks bringing home drunk people.”
Midoriya leaned back on his arms, eyes cast to the ceiling. “Well, someone has to. I don’t bring just any drunk person home though. It’s mostly people who were in your situation. Being taken advantage of and no way to get home. It might not technically be my job but I like to make sure people are safe.” A bright smile lit up his face, “Besides it’s better to help people, isn’t it? It makes me feel a bit like a hero” Midoriya added with a chuckle.
“Y-yeah I suppose so.” Shouto clenched his fists tightly as his chest tightened. Then again, before he could bite his tongue, “God, how are you real.”
Another melodic laugh escaped the shorter man as he eased himself forward. “I don’t know, I kind of wondered if you were the real one at the bar.”
It was Shouto’s turn to snort, “I’m not that special.”
“I beg to differ.” Midoriya cocked his head to the side with a shy smile. “That night I was watching out for you and a few others who had more expensive clothes on. More wealth of folks tend to be stolen from or end up being the ones to cause trouble. Not that I got that vibe from you though! I just… honestly, I had been kind of… mesmerized from the minute you walked through the door at the bar. Your hair is rather striking and hard to miss but…. yeah like I said you’re also really pretty. You also just seemed so… I don’t know cluelessly adorable. Not in a bad way though!”
“That’s a new one,” Shouto muttered with a small smirk. Admittedly he was a bit clueless on how clubs worked so he really couldn’t refute that part at the very least.
Pink tinged Midoriya’s face once more, “A-anyway. You just had this pure charm to you. Like you just wanted to enjoy the night. Then the drinks started and I kind of got worried when you started to stumble. I stepped in when you tried to pull away from that asshole and well yeah. I’m sure mom told you the rest.”
Shouto nodded, “Yes, she was very nice.”
“That’s my mom in a nutshell but don’t ever cross her.”
“Thank you again for going through all that. To be honest I did… ask around about you after. Everyone only had good things to say about you. It’s almost unreal.”
“Oh, so you were curious?”
“Very,” Shouto admitted softly, silver and blue locked on deep pools of green. The more he stared the more he just wanted to get lost in the lush shifting shades sparked with gold. They only seemed to grow the longer he stared new colors mixing in to darken the forest.
The bed shifted beneath Shouto and he froze realizing they had leaned in close. He could feel a soft breath on his face as only the smallest of spaces separated their lips. The same lips he has dreamed of quite a few times, wondering how they tasted.
“Shouto,” Izuku started and Shouto could feel that he was smirking,” Can I kiss you?”
It was sexy, so sexy. Shouto heart skipped a beat or two. Without wasting words to answer he connected their lips in a heated kiss.
