Ye Xiu likes to think that when he left home the first time, he had successfully left behind the manor and all that it entailed. He had hidden his face - the face that every single one of his family seemed to share - and continued on with his life.
Of course, if he had ever bothered to check that one QQ group he lovingly blocked/muted, he would’ve realized that his family never lost their eyes on him. After all, he was still a Ye, and their grandfather had always taught them that no Ye gets left behind.
Except, it seems, Ye Qiu (but that's another altogether).
