It was a typical day in the dorms. Katsuki was yelling about how he was going to be the greatest, Minoru was stalking Momo attempting to sneak inside her room until he got caught, Izuku was focused on becoming stronger, and Tenya was attempting to keep the peace. It was a cycle that seemed to repeat itself daily. Today, the attention was drawn towards someone else, someone….quiet.
“I’M GOING TO DO IT!”
The loud, high pitch voice echoed throughout the dormitory, catching the attention of everyone. The first to comment was Hanta, who was on the first floor, studying, along with Mina, Eijiro, and Rikido.
“Someone’s excited.” He remarked.
“Yeah, but I don’t recognize the voice, like, at all.” Mina commented, scratching her head.
“Yeah, who could it….” Rikido’s eyes bulged open. “No way! Let’s go!” He suddenly flexed and ran up the stairs, confusing the others.
“Um….should I know what’s going on or..” Eijiro pondered.
“No, I think we’re justified in being confused.” Mina replied.
“Why would Rikido….” Hanta stopped, and with a sudden realization, gave his trademark grin. “Wait for me!”
Hanta ran up the stairs with the same passion as Rikido, leaving Mina and Eijiro by themselves, even more confused.
“HEY! DON’T RUN UP THE STAIRS!” Tenya yelled to his classmates from his room on the third floor, to no avail.
On the second floor, where Minoru, Izuku, Yuga, and Fumikage stayed, Rikido and Hanta were stopped by Izuku, who was interested by all the commotion.
“Hey, what’s going on here?” He asked the duo, with more intrigue than confusion.
“It’s a Code Red!” Hanta yelled, Rikido nodding his head.
“Code...Red?” Izuku said back.
“Oh, right, you don’t what that means…..should we tell him Rikido?” Hanta whispered, making Rikido think.
“Please tell me!” Izuku begged, until a shadowy hand laid on his shoulder.
“Midoriya, you must let them pass, Code Red is in effect.” The figure told him.
“Fumikage! We have to hurry!” Rikido yelled.
“Indeed, let’s move.” Fumikage darted up the next flight of stairs, along with Rikido and Hanta, leaving Deku in the dust.
“What was all that about?” Mineta asked, who just got out of his room.
“Something about a “Code Red? I know it’s related to the yelling from a minute ago.” Izuku replied.
“I wonder what this “Code Red” could possibly mean. Shall we investigate?” Yuga asked from the doorway.
“Yeah, it has to be interesting.” Deku stated, who then noticed Eijiro and Mina running up the stairs.
“We’ll come too!” Eijiro yelled.
The Code Red Trio reached the 3rd floor, their destination. By that time, everyone was out of their dorms, investigating this strange scenario that has taken place. Tenya confronted them, Mashirao and Denki right behind him.
“I told you to not run up the stairs, and what do you do?!” The class representative assertively asked.
“Look Iida, this is very business, we needed to act with urgency.” Hanta responded.
“Yeah, when Code Red is active, we need to move!” Rikido added.
“I expect this behavior from you two, but Tokoyami, why are you doing this as well?” Tenya looked at the Shadow Hero.
“It’s an important matter, Iida.” He plainly replied.
“I’m guessing this has to do with the yelling from before?” Mashirao asked.
“Yeah, what’s all of that about?” Denki added.
“It’s a secret, can’t explain.” Hanta stated.
“Stop acting like children and tell me.” Tenya sternly stated.
From behind the trio, the group from downstairs came up.
“Come on guys! Let us in on the situation!” Izuku demanded.
“We can’t explain! Now get out of the way before-” Rikido was interrupted by a door from down the hall opening. It was the door to Koji’s room.
The hulking, silent student walked out of his room with a determined look in his eyes, a look never seen by his classmates before. He looked down the hall to see the mass of classmates crowded in the stairwell, confusing him momentarily.
“Oh...sorry for yelling….” he silently mumbled, just barely audible to his peers.
“Don’t be embarrassed,” Tenya turned towards him, “This isn’t about your-” Tenya was cut short by Rikido, Hanta, and Fumikage running past him and towards Koji.
“Are you actually going to do it?” Hanta excitedly asked.
“You got this man! It’s all about courage!” Rikido playfully jabbed him.
“It also requires concentration, focus on your goal.” Fumikage added.
While this was going on, Toru joined the stairwell gang, along with the rest of the class from the upper rooms.
“So, Koji was the one who yelled huh? For what reason though?” Shoji pondered.
“Didn’t he say something like “I’m going to do it”?” Momo asked the group.
“Yeah, wonder what that could possibly mean.” Toru wondered.
“That quiet rock head better not think he can become number one! Especially with his weak quirk!” Katsuki yelled, catching Koji’s attention.
“What’s that supposed mean…” Koji whined, breaking the hearts of the girls.
“Bakugo! Apologize now!” Mina yelled in defense.
“You do realize he could crush you right?” Tsuyu pointed at Koji’s big frame.
“Yeah! Koji almost beats me in arm wrestling!” Rikido put his arm around his friend.
“Pfft, whatever, what is going on anyway?!” Katsuki angrily asked the 4, louder than the scream that caused the chaos..
“....well…..I plan on…”
“Hey, what’s going on here!”
Kyoka Jiro, who most didn’t notice was absent from the stairwell group, had suddenly entered the hallway.
“Bakugo, can you please not shout at the top of your lungs! And…...why is everyone here?” She looked at the stairwell, then noticed Koji and the trio.
“Koji yelled about doing something, and those 3 got rowdy about something called “Code Red”.” Shoto plainly stated, confusing Kyoka.
“Koji….yelling? No way!” Kyoka smirked.
“He’s telling the truth, seemed excited about something.” Denki replied.
“Really….Koji, what’s going on?” Kyoka innocently asked, causing him to blush.
“Come on man! You got it!” Rikido whispered loudly to the gentle giant, though not quiet enough for Kyoka to not notice.
“Got what?”
“......”
“Koji?”
The classmate suddenly started walking towards Kyoka, face down.
“........i”
“What?” She stared him down, not moving back, allowing him to get closer and closer.
“....I….just….” Koji hesitated, as he got within a couple of feet of Kyoka.
“What is it Koda? You can tell me.” Kyoka gave a warm smile.
“.......”
“....”
“..I li-”
“You what?’
“..I like you Jiro. I want to go out with you…” He closed his eyes, and nearly collapsed, but managed to keep his footing.
The statement left the class in shock, and left Hanta, Rikido, and Fumikage in suspense, though not nearly as much as it left Koji.
“I understand if-” Koji stopped himself short, and felt embarrassment, frightened.
“Koji, why are you scared?” Kyoka asked.
“Because I know you don’t have the same feelings I do…”
“What makes you say that?” Kyoka grinned, blushing.
