Katsuki nervously awaited his mom’s return, listening to the clock’s ominous ticking. It felt like some sort of countdown, and it made the whole situation a lot worse. His mom had recently found out about his boyfriend, Kirishima, and he knew she wasn’t happy.
Mitsuki was quite the opposite of happy as she drove home. “If she wants to pretend she’s a boy, she should at least date a girl,” She thought. Him being transgender already made this topic even worse.

The countdown seemed to be getting quicker and quicker. Though in actuality it didn’t change at all, in Katsuki’s mind it did. He was getting more nervous by the second, and he eventually fell over onto his bed. The seconds seemed to drag on forever, and each minute felt like an hour. This was all taking a big toll on his mental health, and he stayed up past his usual bedtime of 8:00 the night before.
Beep
Suddenly, there was a sound other than the annoying tick of the clock. Katsuki looked down at his phone to see a new text message.
He didn’t text back though.
He called Kirishima instead.
Katsuki felt that he couldn’t text right now. He needed to hear his boyfriend’s voice, to hear, to physically hear, Kirishima reassure him. He couldn’t just read a simple text message. No, he needed to hear someone’s voice along with those words. So the best option was to call, no matter how risky it turned out to be.
“Ei,” The nervous Katsuki immediately said when his boyfriend picked up his call.
“Katsuki, is something wrong?” The redheaded one responded.
“My mom. It’s my fucking mom.”
“Huh?” Eijirou didn’t understand, “What’s wrong with your mom?”

“OH SHIT, IT’S MY FUCKING MOM!” He yells before covering his phone’s screen.
Mitsuki opened Katsuki’s door. That moment dragged on for longer than it should have, as Katsuki shoved his phone under his pillow.
“Katsuki, we need to talk,” Mitsuki said in a sort of stern, cold voice.
The blonde nervously looked up at his mom, a subtle look of fear creeping into his eyes. His body slightly shaking, he pulled a blanket around himself in an attempt to hide it.
Mitsuki sat on the corner of her son’s bed, showing obvious anger and annoyance directed at him.
“Mom, I can explain everything. Please just listen,” Katsuki said, his voice wavering.
“No. If you want to keep pretending like your my son, which you aren’t, you need to date a girl,” Mitsuki’s tone was the opposite of Katsuki’s, very frustrated and stern.
Katsuki shrunk underneath his blanket, looking down to his bedsheets. He felt like he was going to cry. He felt like everything he cared about and wanted was being ripped away from him. He felt like shit.
Mitsuki slapped her son across his cheek before leaving the room. Katsuki waited for a bit, just to be safe, then he ever-so-carefully grabbed his phone and put it up to his ear.
A loud sob came out before he could say anything. He quickly tried to silence the tears so his mom wouldn’t come back into the now dismal room.
“‘Suki? Is everything alright?” Eijirou said, multiple tones of worry showing in his voice.
Katsuki couldn’t say anything, no matter how hard he tried. He was too busy keeping himself from crying.

Eijirou could hear it through the phone, as the blonde didn’t respond to his question.
“Do you want to talk in person?” Eijirou asked, still speaking in the same way.
“M-MmHm…” Was all that Katsuki could get out before there was another audible sob.
Standing up and putting on his jacket, Eijirou said, “I’ll meet you outside of the school.”
Katsuki stands up, his body not working exactly how he wanted it too. He slowly put on his shoes and jacket before attempting to silently slip out of his house.
Mitsuki did notice him though. She looked him directly in the eyes, and sternly said, “Where are you going?”
“U-uh… I’m st-studying with friends….”
Mitsuki didn’t believe him. “Your Boyfriend?” She angrily asked.
Katsuki quickly shook his head. Of course, he was lying to her. He only lied because he didn’t want to get hurt more. He carefully continued to the front door and started running the second he got outside of his mom’s line of sight.
