But Cassandra took a second step, and a third, eyes cold staring straight through Rapunzel, toward the stone. Heart in his throat, Eugene saw her extend a hand and, as quickly as he could, he took hold of her left arm and pulled her firmly toward him.
"What the hell are you doing?" he hissed, startled by the coldness in her eyes.
He didn't have the time to wonder much more what had gotten into her because they were both interrupted by Rapunzel's screaming.
